Zync has launched the Quad 10.1, the company's new Android tablet with a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200) Full HD display. The company launched 3 new tablets, Dual 7.0, Quad 8.0 and Quad 9.7 tablets running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) back in March. We revieed the Quad 9.7 that has a 9.7-inch display at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, similar to the iPad's Retina's display. The Zync Quad 10.1 is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus camera on the back and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with several pre-loaded applications including Adobe Reader, Aldiko e-Book Reader, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skye, MSN Messenger, Office Suite: World/Excel/Powerpoint and games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and more.

If the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC One are anything to go by then optical image stabilization are all set to become standard features in smartphones over the next year or two. The deterrent so far has been the size of the MEMS gyroscopes which don't allow ultra slim phones. InvenSense intends to change by introducing the world's smallest dual axis gyroscope for optical image stabilization in smartphones
Measuring just 2.3x2.3x0.65mm, the IDG 2030 dual axis OIS gyroscope sets a new standard for size and manages to lower power consumption as well. InvenSense rates it at a 41% reduction in footprint, 28% lower profile and up to 50% lower power consumption than its nearest competitor. Estimates place optical image stabilization adoption to reach 60-80%of the market by 2016. The new IDG 2030 and IXZ 2030 gyroscopes will be sampled to select customers later this year towards the third quarter. Expect devices based on the new technology to start appearing around Q4 2014.
Barnes and Noble released the Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets back in September last year starting at $199 and $269, respectively. The company has announced that these tablets would get Google Play Store app that would let users enjoy over 700,000 Android apps and games, millions of songs and more. In addition these would also include Google services like the Chrome browser, Gmail, YouTube, Google Search and Google Maps.
The Nook HD has a 7 inch (1440×900 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a dual-core 1.3 GHz processor. The Nook HD+ has a 9 inch (1920×1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP4470 processor. Both these tablets have 1GB of RAM and a micro SD card slot.
Barnes and Noble released these tables to take on Amazon, but after the release the company moved to 5th position in the worldwide tablet market share at the end of Q4 2012, according to the IDC report. iBall Andi 5L, the company new Android smartphone in the Andi series is priced at Rs. 10,490 on online retail site Flipkart. This would be the company's second Android smartphone with a 5-inch display after the Andi 5c that was released last August. Andi 5Li, an upgraded version of the Andi 5L has been spotted on the official iBall website. Both the Andi 5L and the 5Li would come with a 5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display and powered by a dual-core 1GHz Cortex A9 processor. The Andi 5L runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and the Andi 5Li is expected to come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on-board. These phones would also have dual SIM support. The Andi 5L would come with a Stylus.

Rovio has announced that the most popular Angry Birds game would be available for Windows Phone devices for free till 15th May 2013. The Angry Birds game for Windows Phone 8 has over 400 levels and has Xbox Live integration with new achievements and leaderboards! Amazing Alex is the latest game from Rovio to arrive for Windows Phone 8 devices. Both the Angry Birds Star Wars and Angry Birds Space were released for Windows Phone devices last year.
Even though this is a separate version (v1.0) for Windows Phone 8 that differs from the original Angry Birds title (version 3.1.0) that was released initially, all your old game data including your stars and level progress would not be wiped out. Gravity Guy, Monster Island, iStunt 2 and Fragger for Windows Phone from Miniclip went free last month.

It's been barely a week since Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 in India and the device has already got a software update via OTA.The update brings stability improvements to the S4 and looks like an initial bug fix update.The phone is already running on Android 4.2.2 and this looks like a low level firmware update and not an OS update. The size of the update is 53.76MB.

Huawei has confirmed that the company would launch the Ascend Mate in India soon priced under Rs. 30,000. Huawei unveiled the Ascend Mate along with the Ascend D2 earlier this year at the CES 2013. The Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s EmotionUI 1.5 on top. It is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 198 grams.
It has a 8.0 Megapixels rear-facing camera with LED Flash, Full HD video recording and a 1MP HD front-facing camera. It has 2GB RAM and has 8GB of internal memory with an expandable memory card slot. Instagram has updated the Android and iPhone apps to version 3.5 that brings the new Photos of You feature that would let you tag people to your photos. You can view all the photos you have been tagged in the Photos of You section on your profile. Once a person adds you, you’ll receive a notification and the photo will appear in your Photos of You.
Photos are added to the Photos of You section automatically once people tag you in the picture. You can enable add manually option in the settings so that you can approve it before it shows up in the Photos of You section.

Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom operator will sell 5 percent stake to Doha-based Qatar Foundation Endowment for $1.26 billion (~Rs. 6,800 crore) by issuing 199,870,006 new shares at a price of Rs. 340 apiece, according to a recent report from Economic Times. Bharti reported its 13th successive drop in quarterly profits yesterday, with a near 50 percent fall in profits compared with a year earlier. This move would ease the debt burden on Airtel.
"The investment will further strengthen the capital structure and provide further flexibility for the company to deliver on its growth strategy", said Airtel in a statement. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Chairman said, "This agreement exemplifies further strengthening of the already deep economic and cultural relations between Qatar and India".
Regarding the agreement, Rashid Al-Naimi, acting Chief Executive Officer, QFE, said, “As a long-term global investor, our shareholding gives us exposure to a high growth sector in key emerging markets. QFE looks forward to supporting Bharti in realizing the full potential of this world-class business.”

Motorola has long been known to be working on a flagship product to finally make them relevant in the Android smartphone segment. Despite being a part of Google, the company has struggled to be of any significance. The Motorola X is supposed to be the answer to those problems and thanks to Evleaks, we might have got our first look at the handset.
Codenamed Ghost, the handset is covered in a black non disclosure case but the back is believed to be the real deal. The handset is said to be made of polycarbonate which is a departure from the Kevlar made famous by Motorola's recent devices. Additional details include the use of a 1080p display as is fast becoming common on all flagship phones.
The headphone jack will be centered while volume and power buttons will be at the right side of the smartphone. The X Phone will be making its way to Verizon and AT&T later this year. Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One are the latest and hottest Android smartphones. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 in India last week. We brought you benchmarks of the Galaxy S4 powered by the Exynos 5 Octa last week, and benchmark comparison between the Snapdragon 600 and the Exynos 5 Octa earlier this week. The HTC was the first to release in the global market, but it yet to go on sale in India. We brought you the benchmarks of the HTC One last month.
The Galaxy S4 comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU clocked at 1.9 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU in select countries. The HTC also comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, but it is clocked at 1.7 GHz. It has a Adreno 320 GPU. The Exynos version has four Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.6 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips at 1.2 GHz. It has tri-core PowerVR SGX544MP3 GPU. Gameloft has released a teaser for their upcoming game Gangster Vegas. It is an open-world action game, just like the GTA franchise. Rockstar games released the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game for Android and iOS last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of game, and the Grand Theft Auto III was released back in 2011. Gameloft released the Iron Man 3 game for Android and iOS recently as a free game, but this is likely to be released as at a premium price just like GTA.

The teaser doesn't give any clues about the game, which lets you keep guessing how the game would be. Their official blog title regarding the teaser announcement says Guns, Girls, & Gambling. Looks like it's gonna be a fun filled action game.

Acer has officially announced the Iconia A1-810 tablet that surfaced last month. 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA (0.3MP) front-facing camera. It comes in Wi-Fi-only and 3G + WiFi variants. Acer launched the Iconia B1 with a 7-inch display and a dual-core Mediatek processor in India earlier this year, so we can expect this table to launch in India.

The Acer Iconia A1-810 is priced at US$169 (~Rs. 9092) for the 8GB version and the 16GB version would cost MSRP of US$200 (~Rs. 10760). These tablets would go on sale in the U.S later this month.
The Oppo Find 5 was announced back in December 2012 and we did get our sweet short hands-on time with this device with jaw-dropping looks. It is a great looking phone which is solidly built and has powerful internals and an excellent display and priced very reasonably. The package is very well designed and premium and we felt like we were dealing with an expensive piece of jewellery or an high-end electronic device.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Chat (GT-B5330) in India. The Galaxy Chat was announced back in July 2012 running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It was officially launched in India in September 2012. Samsung confirmed Android 4.1 update for range of Galaxy devices last year. Samsung Galaxy S Advance received the Jelly Bean update in India last week.
The Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Chat brings Google Now, faster performance with project butter, new Nature UX, contextual search, Better notifications, and lots more features. Samsung is yet to roll out the Android 4.1 update for the Galaxy Music, Galaxy Beam, Samsung Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Ace Plus in India.
The Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy Chat is available OTA (Over the Air) and via Samsung Kies. You can check for the update manually from the Settings, About, Software update.

Lenovo released the P770, the company's latest Android phone with a massive 3500 mAh battery. We brought you hands-on video of the device from the CES 2013 earlier this year. Here we have the device for unboxing. It is has a 4.5-inch IPS screen at a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels at 245 PPI pixel density. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on-board with Lenovo’s own UI on top.

The phone has curved edges. You can see a bezel even below capacitive touch buttons, which makes the phone taller. The height of the phone is 132 mm, larger than the Lumia 920 which is 130.3 mm tall.
