Curious to know whether you'll be getting the Exynos Octa Core powered variant of Samsung's next top of the range phablet or will you be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 powered variant ? SamMobile claim to have got their hands on a country wise distribution list of said handset that will inform you exactly which variant you'll be getting.
The report goes on to state that the LTE variant of the handset ie SM-N9005 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor clocked at 2.3Ghz and will be paired with an Adreno 330 GPU. It will feature 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. While this will carry on in the 3G variant as well, the processor will be switched with the Samsung Exynos 5420 Octa Core CPU and will be paired with the Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. Sony Honami has been going around the internet for quite some time now and we will have to wait for another couple of weeks before it goes official just before the IFA. We have been hearing various things about this Sony flagship that is expected to take Sony forward in the race for the best smartphone camera.
The Sony Honami is expected to have a 20.7MP camera sensor along with manual camera controls. According to new reports, a leaked slide from Honami's presentation claims that the Sony Honami will have 4k video recording capabilities. Its tough not to believe as Honami is expected to come with Snapdragon 800. The Snapdragon 800 SoC is capable of 4k video recording and playback. According to the slide, the 4K videos will be recorded at 4000x2000 pixels which is not a standard 4K format, but just qualifies as a 4K video as the horizontal pixel count is 4000 pixels.

Nokia has announced that they have started rolling out the most expected Amber update for their Lumia devices running on Windows Phone 8. This would bring lot of new features including improved camera, Nokia Smart Camera, Nokia Glance Screen with double-tap to unlock, FM Radio, Flip to silence and lots more new features. Nokia announced the Amber update back in May at the 925 launch event.

The wait for Gameloft's most awaited racing game seems to go on forever after it was delayed once. On August 8th, when Google demoed their new Nexus 7, they did it in style by taking Gameloft's Asphalt 8 and showing off the device's ability to handle high end graphics. Gameloft announced the game back in June with the first trailer.
The game was expected to hit in the first week of August, but it was delayed by Gameloft and there was no definite date on the cards. Meanwhile, a lot of fake apps started pouring out into the market with the Asphalt 8 name and started confusing the users. To put an end to all speculations, Gameloft, via their Twitter account, announced that they will be launching the game on August 22nd in the Play Store and Apple App Store. In the meantime, there are holding a sweepstakes contest giving away 21 pre-launch download codes as you get to download the game before its launch.

We had already heard lot of rumors about Nokia's Windows RT tablet. Earlier this month there were rumors about Nokia launching their first Windows RT tablet at an event in New York scheduled for September 26th. Back in June, a mysterious Nokia device codenamed RX-114, running on Windows, with the Adreno 330 GPU surfaced. The Adreno 330 reference in the developer page hinted at Snapdragon 800 chipset, which has been officially confirmed to support Windows RT 8.1. Now a Chinese forum, Digi-wo has posted couple of images of the tablet that is codenamed Vanquish.
The website also reveals that the tablet would come with a 10.1-inch full HD display and powered by a 2.12 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It doesn't have a rear camera, and is likely come with a front-facing camera for video chats. It would have 32GB of storage and come with 4G LTE support.

Xolo has announced that they have finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xolo X1000. It was launched back in March running on Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). At the time of launch Xolo promised to update the phone to Jelly Bean in a couple of month, the update was expected to launch back in June, but it was delayed. It took them about 5 months to release an update.
The Xolo A800 got the the Jelly Bean update recently, the Xolo Q700 that is already running on Android 4.2 has also received a major update along with the Q600 that got a minor update. The new Android Jelly Bean update for the X1000 would bring faster performance with project butter, Google Now, Better notifications and lots more features.
The Android 4.1 update for the Xolo X1000 would be available over-the-air (OTA). You can manually check for the update from Settings->About phone-> System updates-> Update from OTA. You can read the complete instructions on official XOLO website. Xolo did not reveal any details about the Android 4.1 for the Xolo X900, the company's first Intel-powered smartphone that received the ICS update back in October last year.

The high-end MeMO Pad HD 10 with the model number ME102A would be the cheaper version of the ASUS MeMO Pad HD 10. It would have a quad-core Rockchip 1.6GHz (graphics Mali-400 MP4) and 10.1 inche (1280 x 800 pixels) display. All these tablet would run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Microsoft has updated its Fresh Paint app to version 1.0.3255.1 that brings support to Windows Phone 8 devices with 512 MB RAM. Microsoft launched the Fresh Paint, a free digital painting app last month. The app was originally released for Windows 8 . This app lets you create original artwork by starting with a blank canvas or turn photos or images you take using the phone's camera into beautiful paintings automatically.
This app has realistic oil paint and brushes, lets you adjust your brush size, create your custom mix of colors and option to share your painting easily via a text message, email or SkyDrive. With the new update that brings support for devices with 512MB of RAM, this app would now be used more widely since lot of Lumia users have phones with less RAM.

S Mobility has launched the Stellar Pinnacle FHD Mi-525, the company's first smartphone with a 5-inch full HD display. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. Motorola has just announced a thumb sized clip that incorporates NFC to unlock your brand new Moto X. The accessory once paired can be clipped onto your shirt or belt or wherever else you may want. Tap the skip to the back of the device and your phone will be unlocked.
The Skip ships with three Skip dots that pair with your phone. Essentially NFC tags, you can touch your device to the sticker which'll unlock the phone and then use voice commands to perform actions like setting an alarm. The accessory will only work with the phone that it was paired with and it is possible to easily unpair it if you manage to lose the Skip. The Skip takes Motorola's focus on touchless controls to a whole new level and could also be instrumental in taking NFC mainstream.
