Videocon has launched Infinium Z50 Quad, the company's latest smartphone in the Infinium series. It has a 5-inch qHDdisplay, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
It comes pre-installed with V-Secure, V-Safe, Hungama, Fun Zone, GT Racing 2 and Modern Combat 4. Videocon launched the Infinium Z40 Quad smartphone last month, but this has a larger screen, has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and packs a 1900 mAh battery.

Lenovo launched the Vibe X2 smartphone in India last week, and the smartphone went on sale for Rs. 19999 earlier this week. We brought you the unboxing of the Vibe X2 recently, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595M processor which as four ARM Cortex-A17 cores clocked at 2GHz per core and four ARM Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.69GHz per core, based on ARM big.LITTLE and 28nm HPM process. It has PowerVR 6200 GPU, 2GB RAM comes with a 5-inch 1080p display and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Vibe UI on top.

Google has added Material Design features to Google Keep Android app. The note taking app from Google is getting a revamped UI with Material Design elements.
The version 3.0.1 update for Keep gets the latest floating hamburger menu, icons in the slide-out menu and flatter app icon. A new "snackbar" is added to allow quick undo of actions when notes are archived. In addition, the new app includes an updated search user interface that lets you search by note type or color as well as a bar that’ll pop up at the bottom of the display when you archive a note.
Google is rolling out the update gradually and if you don't want to wait for the update Android Police has given the APK. Google Keep received major update in August with new features.

Samsung unveiled the Samsung Z (SM-Z910F), its first Tizen-powered smartphone back in June. We got to check it out at the Samsung Developer Conference 2014 in San Francisco. Here is the hands-on and the hardware walk-through gallery.
The Samsung Z has a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display. When it was showcased at the Tizen Developer Conference in San Francisco in June, it was running on Tizen OS 2.2, but now it runs on the new Tizen OS 2.3 with new user interface.
It has a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor and has 2GB of RAM.
It has Samsung's signature home button below the display, which has built-in fingerprint sensor. There are capacitive touch buttons on either sides of the home button.
The smartphone has chrome finish on the sides. There is a micro USB slot along with a primary microphone on the bottom.
The power button is present on the right side.
The volume rockers are present on the left.
The back cover has leather-like finish. It comes in Black and Gold color variants. Under the back cover there is a 2600 mAh battery, SIM card and the microSD card slots.

Samsung Electronics is filing a countersuit against Nvidia, after the latter alleged Samsung of infringing upon GPU technology in September. Now, the South Korean tech giant is accusing Nvidia of misleading consumers by revealing false benchmark test results for its Shield Tablet in comparison with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Nvidia had sued Qualcomm and Samsung claiming that they had used its patented technologies without license in Samsung's mobile devices, including the recently launched Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. The latest counter suit now comes from Samsung as it is seeking damages for deliberate infringement of several technical patents, including a few that govern the way semiconductors buffer and use data.
Samsung said in its counter suit that Nvidia's claims that its Shield Tablet computer houses "the world's fastest mobile processor" -- Nvidia's Tegra K1 chip -- "is a false and misleading statement" and that its own Exynos processor is faster on several benchmarks. In a response to Samsung's accusations, Nvidia has posted a clarification explaining they ran the benchmarks on the out-of-the-box units of the Galaxy Note 4 and the Shield tablet.

Uber entered India last year and is currently one of the popular cab services in India. Google removed messaging app on Nexus devices and released an updated Hangouts app that combines SMS and Hangouts conversation. Now Google has released a separate messaging app called Messenger instead of using Hangouts as the messaging app. It can handle both SMS and MMS and lets you share pictures and videos from the chat dialog, search contacts and conversations, block SMSs, send audio messages, send emjios and more.

Facebook has unveiled a new video creation tool that enables users to create personalized video cards for their loved ones. Dubbed as "Say Thanks", the tool highlights the times you have shared together with them.
"Share a Say Thanks video with a close friend, your significant other, a relative, a coworker, an old friend – or anyone else in your life who you’d like to celebrate. There is no limit to how many personalized videos you can create and share."

The “Say Thanks” videos pull in photos and posts for a slideshow-style video that highlights the relationship between the two users. Users can edit which photos are included and then share it with others on Facebook. In order to create a "Say Thanks" video users will need to choose a friend and Facebook will automatically generate a preview of the video. iBall has launched iBall Slide 6351-Q40, the latest budget tablet in the iBall Slide series. It is an entry-level Wi-Fi Tablet, says iBall, but the earpiece on the top is weird, even though the tablet doesn't have voice calling capabilities. It has a 7-inch WVGA screen, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.
It has 512MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot and packs a 2500mAh battery.

Samsung announced at the it's Developer Conference that it is opening its first health-tracking platform to developers. The company also unveiled its Simband health tracker that keeps a tab on wearers heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
All these measurements are stored in amsung Architecture for Multimodal Interactions consumer health SDK (SAMI). The band is based on Samsung’s SAMI health platform. The modular band has a modular element that be replaced with any piece of health tracking hardware. Simband was initially announced by Samsung in May this year, but the latest version has been updated with a new look. It also gets improved its sensor capabilities and algorithm accuracy.
The Simband boasts of six sensors viz electrocardiogram (ECG), bio-impedance, (bio-z), photoplethysmogram (PPG, using those fancy LED lights on the band), galvanic skin response (GSR), accelerometer, and skin temperature. Developers can choose and develop their own algorithms and sensors as per their choice.
Samsung also announced the availability of the Samsung Digital Health (SDH) Platform and SDK. The SDK syncs the all this data with the Samsung Cloud server via a Samsung account.
Google has updated its keyboard app to version 4.0.2 that adds two new Material Design themes, improved design for suggestions and corrections and more. This adds Material dark and Material light Material Design themes in addition to existing Holo White and Holo Blue themes. You can head to settings and go to themes to select new themes.
According to the changelog, the update also brings improved design for suggestions and corrections, bug fixes and stability improvements. The update brings option to set long-press duration. The Google Keyboard v3.2 update brought 8 languages including, Bengali (India), Hindi (Compact), Kannada (India), Malayalam (India), Marathi (India), Tamil (India), Tamil (Singapore), and Telugu (India).
Google has not released the Google Keyboard for Indian users on Google Play. It comes pre-installed on Android One devices, but you can’t update it over Google Play. The update would roll out in stages through Google Play, but you can always manually download the APK from the source link below.

Twitter revealed its roadmap for next year that includes new apps and features. The micro blogging site will soon debut "instant timeline" that will allow new users to see what is happening on the site without following anyone.
Twitter users will be able to initially pick from categories like sports, television and technology to be automatically shown a feed of interesting tweets and users. The company plans to launch more independent apps similar to the microvideo sharing service Vine that Twitter acquired in 2012.

Microsoft has added an array of features to Windows 10 under the build 9879. The update comes only three weeks after the Windows 10 Technical Preview got its first new build available to members of the Windows Insider program.
Build 9879 is the third version of Windows 10 TP and the last one for this year. Microsoft has added a Task View and Search buttons on the task bar that the company says was one of the mos requested features.The new build adds a checkbox menu option where you can simply choose whether or not those features appear as icons in the toolbar.
Minimize and restore buttons have also been tweaked and in order to simplify discovery, the 3 dots in the Window chrome for modern apps has been replaced with a “hamburger-style” icon. In addition, Microsoft is adding new 3 finger trackpad gestures. In case of OneDrive, Microsoft is adding selective sync, where you will need to specify what is saved to your PC and what Microsoft keeps safe in its OneDrive cloud. Nokia Networks has announced that it has grabbed a 3G contract from Bharti Airtel that includes India-first dual band, dual carrier 3G network implementation, refarming 900 MHz to complement Mumbai’s existing 3G network on 2100 MHz. This would enable advanced radio platform and services, thus improved 3G services for Bharti Airtel’s customers in Mumbai, West Bengal and Bihar telecom circles, said the company.
Under the contract, Nokia Networks will supply its Single RAN Advanced platform, based on its energy-efficient Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station. This will also support Bharti Airtel in its TD-LTE rollout and pave the way to FDD-LTE in the near future, said Nokia Networks.
Nokia Networks will deploy its Flexi Lite Base Station, a small all-in-one base station optimized for indoor and outdoor micro-cell deployments to provide the best coverage in densely crowded areas and also supply extremely compact, highly scalable and flexible multi-technology, all-IP multicontroller RNC (mcRNC).
It will also provide a range of services such as network planning and optimization, network implementation, network operations, and care services including hardware and software maintenance as well as competence development.

Lenovo announced the Vibe X2 in September at IFA Berlin 2014. The phone was launched in India earlier this month for Rs 19,999. We have already seen unboxing and benchmarks of the Vibe X2 and now lets take a look at the hardware of the phone in this photo gallery post.
Vibe X2 sports a 5-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI 2.0 on top. The phone is known for its unique layered design. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory.
The phone has 5MP front-facing camera with wide angle lens and an earpiece at the center and LED notification next to it.

After updating series of its core apps with Material Design, Google is now updating Search for Android. The Search app for Android is getting an array of new features and a revamped look.
As expected the Search gets bold colors and smoother animations which are the basic elements of Material Design. Google Now cards are also getting a tweak with new sidebar, back arrow and bright colors. Moving on, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users also benefit from being able to activate “Ok, Google” searches even when the smartphone is unplugged and the display is off.
Google Search can now integrate much more powerfully with third-party apps. This means users can directly ask "OK Google search Tumblr for..The Search app now scans through your Gmail inbox and locate any forgotten appointments and events. It will then display them as reminders in your calendar, so you don’t forget any important appointments.

YouTube has introduced YouTube Music Key, the company's new subscription service for web, Android and iOS that lets you watch and listen to music without ads, in the background or offline. This was leaked back in August.
You can watch favorite music videos, recommended music playlists based on what you’re into and playlists of trending music across YouTube for free. It has new pages that display an artist's entire discography and all the videos associated with their music. Android and iOS apps would be updated with these features soon.

YouTube Music Key beta, monthly subscription service is available at a promotional price of US$7.99/month and the original price is US$9.99/month. This includes subscription to Google Play Music and the ability to watch YouTube official music videos right from the app in coming months.
The YouTube Music Key will launch as invite-only beta next week and is likely to be U.S. only for now. Those who have an invite can try YouTube Music Key for six months for free. YouTube said its availability will expand over time.
