Earlier this year, LG showed off its next large format device ie the G Pro 2. Launched in India earlier this month, the phone brings high end specifications and a giant sized display that is well suited for multimedia consumption. Powered by a 2.26Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, the G Pro 2 packs enough firepower to drive any game or high resolution content that you might throw at it. Unlike the LG G2 that had absolutely stellar battery life, we feel that the 3200 mAh unit here wasn't entirely adequate which is in all likelihood because of the large 5.9 inch panel. While we work on our full review of the phone, we decided to slap together a photo gallery for your perusal. Got questions? Let us know in the comments section. LG G Pro 2 specifications  5.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with slim bezel 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU Android 4.4 (KitKat) Dimensions – 157.9 x 81.9 x 8.3mm, weight: 172g 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, OIS+, 4K video recording, Slow motion video at 120 fps 2.1 MP front-facing camera 3GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB of internal memory, micro SD card slot 4G LTE / 3G ...

Google is now improving its payment system for Google Play Store. The company is adding PayPal as new payment option which will enable users to pay for apps, movies, games and books. It further said that Gmail had 425 million active monthly users in 2012, and that number has multiplied by the growing popularity of Android. Google Search, Facebook and Google Maps are some of the apps in the 500 million to one billion install range. Earlier last week, leaked images of a Gmail revamp on web had surfaced online. It is not clear if we can expect a revamp for the Gmail Android ...

Microsoft had some strategic announcements during the Mobile World Congress, in which they announced the addition of new OEM partners that had signed up for making Windows Phone devices. Some of the new additions were Indian manufacturers like Lava, Xolo, Karbonn and later Micromax. In that lineup, we have two more OEMs added to the lineup today, and they are BLU and K-Touch. BLU is possibly the Micromax of the US while K-Touch is known for being an OEM as well as a ODM, which does contract manufacturing for other companies. The addition of these two new OEMs means a wider range of Windows Phone 8.1 devices that are all set to be released in the coming months. Will the third ecosystem finally pick up some steam? The new OEMs have been announced based on changes in attitude within Microsoft. After many iterations, the OS is now finally scalable enough and is now closer to other variants of Windows, not only making development easier, but hardware support too. It was rumoured that Microsoft was planning to let OEMs just package Windows Phone into Android hardware, as WP 8.1 gained the support for on-screen navigation buttons. This also means that Windows Phone ...

Apple, Google dismiss Motorola-related patent suits

Apple and Google's Motorola Mobility reached a truce agreeing to dismiss all patent-infringement claims against each other. Both these companies agreed to work together in some areas of patent reform, but this agreement doesn't include a cross license for the patents. Last month Google, Apple, Intel and Adobe Systems settled a class-action lawsuit. Apple had already settled their patent suits with HTC and Nokia. Apple and other Android smartphone makers have filed dozens of such lawsuits against each other globally. Apple accused several companies including Samsung of infringing features of its iPhones and iPads and recently court asked Samsung to pay around $119 million in fine since they infringed Apple patents. Apple's litigation against Samsung Electronics is not likely to be dismissed since there were no dismissal notices were filed in those cases, according to WSJ. Back in 2010 Motorola accused Apple of infringing several patents, including 3G-related patents. Apple countersued them. Apple’s patent violation claims against Motorola were rejected by the US ITC in 2012. However, an appeals court in late April revived the case and ruled that a trial could proceed. Later that year it was dismissed. Google acquired Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion in 2012 and later agreed to sell ...
