Apple has officially announced its October 30th event, teasing ‘There’s more in the making’, after several rumors. The event takes place at Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City. Apple is expected to announce redesigned iPad Pro, new Mac, Mac mini, iMac and more.
The new iPad Pro models are expected to come in new 11-inch size and a redesigned 12.9-inch size. These are expected replace Touch ID with Face ID, all-screen design without notch, no 3.5mm audio jack and probably a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, a faster A12X chip, and support for a second-generation Apple Pencil.
Mac mini could get a processor upgrade,three and a half years since the last Mac mini update. Both the MacBook and MacBook Pro will likely see processor upgrades and True Tone display for the MacBook Pro. The low-cost Notebook might not be from the MacBook Air series, instead, rumors have suggested this machine could be a 12-inch MacBook. Apple seems to be planning to expand the MacBook lineup with an additional low-cost option to replace the MacBook Air.

Google has introduced Compose Actions which is a new channel for integrating your other tools with Gmail. This feature makes it easy to add links and attachments from apps like Box, Dropbox, Atlassian’s Jira, and Egnyte to any Gmail message while you are drafting it.
Gmail Add-ons with compose actions can be installed from the G Suite Marketplace. Like all other Gmail Add-ons, G Suite admins can install them for their entire domain or add them to their whitelist. Google introduced this feature at the 'Google Cloud Next ‘18' and is now making it generally available to everyone.
The integration allows the users to save valuable time by letting them quickly attach files to emails and save email attachments to their preferred service, all within Gmail. The moment you authorize action with the feature, they will work in Gmail across mobile and web. While Google is bringing this with four services at launch, it said that it will soon expand with more.

Google kickstarted the Playtime, an annual global event series where the company announced that Android app bundle is Android's new publishing format, with which developers can more easily deliver a great experience in a smaller app size since it is a deciding factor for higher conversation rates.
Thousands of app bundles are already in production, with an average size reduction of 35%. App bundles will now be average 8% smaller on download and 16% smaller on the device on Marshmallow devices with no additional developer work. These new savings come from supporting uncompressed native libraries, which eliminates the need to store multiple copies on the device.
It also allows you to upload large app bundles with installed APK sizes of up to 500MB without needing to use expansion files. This feature is in early access and Google said that it will roll it out to all developers in the future. Google says that it is using Android App bundle to solve instant app issue where developers had to publish both an instant app and an installable app. With Android Studio 3.2, developers could publish instant-enabled bundles but are still required to publish a primary app bundle.

WhatsApp seems to be working on 'Vacation Mode,' a feature which will no longer unarchive chats after they are archived. The current state of the chat will automatically unarchive whenever a new message is received from that Chat. This new feature will be available in WhatsApp settings when it is released.
Muted or archived chats won’t be unarchived until you unmute or unarchive them. This is something that would be really helpful. The Vacation mode is also useful if you don’t want a specific chat in your Chats List. Since it is in the testing phase, the feature is not available just yet. WhatsApp has also enabled a new feature for Android, that allows hiding the app badge for muted chats. This again is a very helpful feature considering how annoying it can get to see badges for muted apps.
WhatsApp is also said to be working on a new feature that allows users to link your account with external services. The feature appears mainly developed for WhatsApp Business, but some references were found in the normal WhatsApp app too. It’s not available yet for both apps. Earlier this month OnePlus sent out invites for the launch of its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone globally including India on October 30th, now the company has announced that the event has been rescheduled to September 29th. The venue is same - Pier 36, New York City and starts at 11AM EDT (8:30PM IST). India launch event takes place at KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi at the same time.

Google Chrome get a new "self-share" feature that provides a more obvious workflow that would allow users to share tabs between mobile and desktop. There is another feature that is coming to Chrome to censor the content in media notifications on Android in Incognito Mode.
The Google Chrome "self-share" feature flag hasn't been merged in just yet, so it is unclear when the feature might end up in Chrome. However, the functionality is described in an informal message between developers attached to the change log: "I put together a quick feature flag to start working on a prototype for sharing URLs between mobile and desktop chrome." The flag description found by Chrome Story elsewhere in the Gerrit also confirms: "Allows users to post tabs from Android devices to allow other synced computer to reopen those same."

Facebook has hired Nick Clegg, the former UK deputy prime minister. Nick will lead Facebook's global affairs and communications team as the company faces safety issues over data protection and the threat of greater government regulation.
Nick will move to Silicon Valley in January and would replace Elliot Schrage, who announced his resignation in June after working in Facebook for 10-years. In a post on Facebook, Nick said: "I believe that Facebook must continue to play a role in finding answers to those questions – not by acting alone in Silicon Valley, but by working with people, organizations, governments and regulators around the world to ensure that technology is a force for good."
Nick who has been a deputy prime minister, led the Liberal Democrat party in coalition with David Cameron’s Conservatives between 2010 to 2015. Google a couple of days ago announced that it would charge Android manufacturers to use its app suite in Europe. According to documents obtained by 'The Verge,' a confidential fee schedule shows the cost as high as $40 per device to install the “Google Mobile Services” suite of apps, which includes the Google Play Store.
Furthermore, the new fees vary depending on country and device type, and it would apply to devices activated on or after February 1st, 2019. Alternatively, manufacturers can choose not to pay the fee as Google is also offering separate agreements to cover the licensing costs for companies that choose to install Chrome and Google search on their devices, according to sources.
Google’s licensing terms are changing in Europe later this month on account of a European Commission fine over misusing its position and forcing its apps on Android manufacturers. The leaked document said: "FEES VARY BY PIXEL DENSITY, PUTTING HIGHER COSTS ON HIGHER-END PHONES." EU countries are divided into three tiers, with the highest fees coming in the UK, Sweden, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Essential has cut down about 30% of its employees, according to a latest report. This lay off will affect the company's hardware, marketing, and sales divisions. The company has about 120 employees, according to its website.
This lay off comes months after the company canceled the plans for the second version of its smartphone; the Essential PH-1 and paused development of a home smart device that would compete with Amazon.com Inc. and Google. Since Essential's first phone struggled to sell due to its relatively high price and software bugs, the company stopped development of its sequel.
Of the $300 million funding, the company spent about $100 million developing its first products, and Rubin put Essential up for sale, according to reports. The company is now working on a different phone with a small screen that will try to mimic the user and automatically respond to messages on their behalf.
