With the next iPhone(s) scheduled to launch in just a few hours, we took the liberty of comparing the Apple iPhone 5 with the just launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because for all you know, the 5S might just be a slight upgrade over the 5. That said, the Galaxy Note is possibly the most technologically(read: hardware) advanced smartphone right now, so how does it fare in comparison with the most popular smartphone on the planet? As you can see from the video above, the size comparison is really mind blowing. The Note 3 with its huge 5.7 inch full HD screen is massive, making the iPhone look like a small toy. But talking of toys, the glossy glass and the plastic sides make the Note 3 a bit cheap in comparison with the iPhone 5's beautifully built metallic body. But of course durability on the Note 3 is better, especially thanks to the replaceable faux-leather back. Oh, and removable back cover means removable battery and micro SD card slot, both of which have been absent on the iPhone since time immemorial.

Among the many Android smartphones that were showcased during the IFA 2013 in Berlin, Nokia showcased its feature phone - Nokia 207. It was announced back in July. Check out our hands-on video of the Nokia 207.

The Nokia 207 is a typical Nokia feature phone with a rectangular build. There is a 2.4inch display sporting a resolution of 240x320 pixels. Nokia 207 is a very basic feature phone without even a camera. It has 256MB internal storage supported by 64MB RAM. There is a microSD card slot for expansion of internal storage.
In terms of connectivity, the Nokia 207 has 3G, Bluetooth and microUSB. There is a stereo FM radio with RDS and FM recording is possible. Nokia 207 is fueled by a 1020mAh battery.

Asus Fonepad saw yet another refresh at the IFA 2013 in Berlin and the Fonepad 7 was showcased among the many other Asus devices. The new Asus Fonepad 7 is a minor update over the earlier version of the Fonepad 7 with new front facing dual stereo speakers and an upgraded 5MP camera at the back. Asus Fonepad 7 is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor and the graphics are taken care by PowerVR SGX544Mp2 GPU. There is 1GB RAM and the tablet is available in three internal storage variants - 8/16/32GB. There is a microSD card slot for expansion of internal storage.
In terms of connectivity, the Asus Fonepad 7 has 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB. Asus Fonepad 7 runs on Android 4.2.2 with a little skinning from Asus. There is a non-removable 3950mAh Li-Po battery powering the device. The Fonepad 7 will be available in Sapphire White and Diamond Black colors.

Asus MeMOpad 10 was among the tablets that Asus introduced at the IFA 2013 in Berlin. The Asus MemoPad 10 looks like its made more for the budget tablet buyers looking for big display. The Memo Pad 10 is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, has 1GB RAM and comes with 8/16GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot. At the back, there is a 2MP camera that can record 720p videos and on the front, we have a 1.2 MP camera.
In terms of connectivity, it comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean - the UI is nearly stock except for some surface level skinning by Asus. It comes with a non-removable Li-Po 5070mAh battery. The Asus Memo Pad 10 will be available in Gray, Pink and White.

Nokia 515 is a basic feature phone with a premium build. The display on the Nokia 515 measures 2.4inch with a resolution of 240x320(pixel density - 167ppi) and it is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is usually found in mid-range smartphones. The front of the phone has plastic, but everywhere else, there is Aluminum making it look and feel solid.
Nokia 515 runs Series 40 OS and comes with 3G, Bluetooth and microUSB support. A dual SIM version of Nokia 515 will also be available as Nokia 515 Dual SIM. There is 64MB RAM and 256MB internal storage along with a microSD card slot. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was the star of the IFA 2013 in Berlin and it was announced along with a lot of accessories. The Galaxy S4 was the first device to have the S-View cover which not only protected the device, but had a small window to let you peek at the screen for important information. The Galaxy Note 3 is also getting an S-View cover, but the window on the Note 3's S-View cover is fairly large and it is expected to let you perform more than a few basic options. The S-View cover comes in a wide variety of colors and there are nearly 10 color options available.
The Galaxy Note 3 has a unique accessory which is primarily targeted at female customers - Mini Purse cover. The Mini Purse cover, as the name suggests is a case that doubles as a mini purse. Galaxy Note 3 can be attached to right side of the purse and there is a place on the left side that can accommodate other things like money, keys and so on.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, launched at IFA received much attention mainly for its extensive customization options apart from the top end specifications. These options mainly deal with the back covers, ranging from metal to false stitched leather, and literally anything can be done with respect to the back cover. Apple just revealed that the much awaited and critiqued iOS 7 update will be coming over to most Apple devices, but it will reach the iPhone 4S and the 5 on September 18th. The iOS 7 update includes the much awaited user interface overhaul and some extra features like AirDrop and brand new multitasking.

Apple has just announced the iPhone 5C at an event at its campus. The device will be replacing the iPhone 5 and will be priced lower to reach out to a larger audience. The phone will be available in a range of colors including green, yellow, blue, white and red. Made of hard coated polycarbonate, it uses a new construction method that has a reinforced steel structure.
The specifications include 4 inch retina display with integrated touch and full sRGB spectrum support. Powering it will be an A6 processor. The camera is an 8MP iSight unit with BSI, hybrid IR filter and a 5 element lens. The front camera is now better with a 1.9 micron pixel size, BSI. The iPhone 5C will have support for dual band WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE as well. The phone will be available for $99 for the 16GB version and $199 for the 32GB version on a two year contract. Apple also plans to introduce a range of new cases that looks very snazzy at a price point of $29 each.

Just after unveiling the all colourful iPhone 5C, Apple has now moved on to release the iPhone 5S, the next iteration for their flagship iPhone products. Again, the leaks were spot on, with the new home button having a biometrics finger print sensor, but there are also other interesting additions. One is the gold colour variant(Gold, Slate and Silver are the three new colours), which again, was perfectly accurate from the leaks and the other is the new Apple A7 and M7 chips. The iPhone 5S also brings an updated camera and revamped internals, read on to find out what the iPhone 5S is all about.
The Apple A7 is the first 64-bit mobile processor that has 2X the performance of the previous generation. The M7 on the other hand is a co-processor that can detect motion using a trio of sensors - Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope. Developers will be able to take advantage of it using their APIs.
Moving onto battery life, Apple stated that the standby time will be better than the iPhone 5 at 250 hours while you can do with 10 hours of browsing on LTE.

That's right. C definitely doesn't stand for cheap. The unsubsidized unlocked prices for the iPhone 5C have been revealed. The 16 GB version will be available for 549$ and the 32 GB version will be available for 649$. Let me do the direct conversion for you, the Indian National Rupee prices will likely be - Rs. 35,500/- for the 16 GB version and Rs. 42,000/- for the 32 GB version, rounding off to the nearest values without taxes and import duties. That seals the rumour that a low cost iPhone is on the way. It never was and is going to be the plan for Apple as they would never want to lose the insanely high ASPs that they are getting with the current iPhones.
The iPhone 5C also directly replaces the iPhone 5, which means that Apple will cease sales of iPhone 5 everywhere and push the 5C and 5S instead. The iPhone 4S still remains though, by going free on contract in the US and unlocked prices now at $450(Rs. 29,000).
