Celkon has launched Campus Nova A352E, the company's latest budget smartphone in the Campus series. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA, has 2G (EDGE) connectivity and dual SIM support, similar to the Celkon Campus One A354C that went on sale earlier this week, but this runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor . PC shipments during Q3 did better than expected, dropping just 1.7 percent instead of the previously estimated 4.1 percent drop, according to a latest report from IDC.
The research firm said that global PC shipments totaled 78.5 million units in the third quarter of 2014. Commercial PC purchases played a key role in many markets and the top three vendors – Lenovo, HP, and Dell, showed solid year-on-year growth. Lenovo shipped 15.7 million units while HP's PC shipment reached 14.7 million units. Dell took the third spot with 10 million units. Surprisingly, Apple moved to fifth spot with more than 4 million units sale.
"Although shipments did not decline as much as feared, these preliminary results still show that 3Q14 was one of the weaker calendar third quarters on record in terms of sequential growth. The third quarter has historically been driven by back-to-school sales and renewed business purchasing, which were weaker than normal this year. The current growth of lower-priced systems, while encouraging in the short run, brings concern for the long term viability of vendors to adequately remain in the PC space."

Ericsson, leading provider of communications technology and services has partnered with Airtel for 4G network services for the 4G LTE rollout in India. Airtel had already partnered with Huawei and ZTE for 4G rollout in the past. Ericsson also announced that it would launch Radio Dot System and the RBS6402 picocell in India and enter into Small Cell Portfolio in the country. These would enable Indian telecom operators to optimize indoor coverage.
Aircel offers TDD-LTE services based on 2300 MHz spectrum and offers 4G on mobile using Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution. Aircel recently launched 4G LTE services that is also based on 2300MHz TDD-LTE spectrum. Reliance Jio is the only operator with pan-India 2300 MHz spectrum.
Idea Cellular has signed a solutions data charging deal for Ericsson’s Evolved IP Network (EIN) and real-time charging for its postpaid subscriber base, according to ET. Earlier this year Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio won spectrum in auction. Reliance Jio already said that it would use FDD-LTE on 1800 MHz and TDD-LTE on 2300 MHz to provide LTE through an integrated ecosystem. SwitKey has finally released a new beta version of the Android app after a long time, after they have made it free. The first v5.1 Beta version adds 13 new Indian languages including, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Nepali and Sinhala (Indo-Aryan language family). Lenovo has announced the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, the company's latest Android tablet in Yoga series. Motorola has updated its camera app with support for Android Wear devices. The update brings remote shutter control to Android Wear smartwatches.
This essentially means that when you open the camera on your phone, the watch pulls up a notification that can be used to open an app with a shutter button. After tapping the button, the camera counts down from three and takes a photo. A preview, of the image that has been taken showcases on the watch. The app is only compatible with Motorola smartphones whereas the the watch does not have to be the Moto 360 and it will work with any Android Wear smartwatch.
In addition to the remote shutter, the update to the Camera app also brings the usual performance improvements and bug fixes. Google had updated its Camera app with similar functionality in July.

Apple and Google have become the most valuable brands in the world, as per Interbrand's 15th edition of the Best Global Brands Report. The iPhone and iPad maker which is valued at $118.9 billion, has topped the list followed by Google which is valued at $107.43 billion. While the former increased its brand value by 21 percent, the latter increased by 15 percent.

Following several rumors and leaks, the Nexus 6 is expected to be announced this month, according to a latest report from the Wall Street Journal. The next flagship phone from Google that is codenamed as 'Shamu' will have a large 5.9 inch screen.
A 5.9 inch screen will make the Nexus 6 larger than the Apple iPhone 6 Plus that has a 5.5 inch screen and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that sports a 5.7 inch screen. The report said that the handset will supposedly be manufactured by Motorola and will be launched this month according to "three people familiar with the situation".

Amazon is in initial stage of talks to buy fashion and lifestyle portal Jabong, according to a report from the Economic Times (ET). The US based online retail giant is eyeing the acquisition to enhance its fashion offerings, as per four source of ET.
Currently, Jabong is valued at $500 million (Rs 3,000 crore). Flipkart acquired Myntra in May this year for more than $300 million to further bolster its presence in the fashion category. As per industry estimates combined market share of Flipkart and Myntra stands at more than 50 percent while Jabong is responsible for 25 percent share. Fashion is the second largest category in online retail in India resulting in 25% of all sales, as per a Technopak study.
Amazon announced in July that is is investing a whopping $2 billion in India to support its rapid growth and enhance the customer and seller experience in the country. HTC unveiled the Desire EYE at the Double Exposure event in New York earlier this week, but it did not announce the One M8 EYE that was leaked recently. Now the smartphone has gone official in China on the official website. OnePlus and JBL have partnered for an event in Beijing, China on October 13th. The invite on their weibo page translates to It is time to pull the boom out! OnePlus introduced Silver Bullet Earphones last month, so this could be a speaker with some new audio technology.

Foursquare has updated its recently launched standalone check-in app Swarm. This time the iOS app is receiving an update that takes advantage of the iOS 8 feature of widgets.
The app now gets a widget that lets you check-in without launching the app. It can be userd by simply swiping down the notification menu from top of your device and Swarm will display your current location. In addition a check-in button and a list of your friends that are nearby will also be seen.
One of the main aim of the app is to simplify and speed-up your check-ins. The updated Swarm app is available on the Apple App Store. It is not known whether Swarm will bring the same feature to Android and Windows Phone. Swarm was last updated in September with more stickers and better check-in options.
