Whatsapp, the massively popular instant messaging application, was recently acquired by Facebook for a huge sum of 19 billion dollars. The deal has not even closed, but troubles already seem to be starting to pile up for the company, starting with this - Iran, officially known as the Islamic Republic of Iran, has censored Whatsapp in its country, citing "Zionist" Zuckerberg as the reason for the ban. Iran and Israel have had a tumultuous relationship for a long time, as the former has literally failed to recognize the state of Israel ever since the great Iranian revolution overthrew the pro-western government. Since then, both the countries have been involved in proxy war and constantly issue threats against each other. For example, Iran has been believed to secretly provide weapons to the Hezbollah militants, who have been attacking Israel from Lebanon as a part of the Palestine conflict. Also, most of the Islamic states in the region fail to recognize Israel because of this conflict, and usually are wary of using Internet services altogether, to suppress free speech in their regions. Social media has since played a major role in the recent Arab Spring movements that have rocked the region. Iran had already ...

Flappy Bird created a lot of buzz in the handheld gaming industry and Angry Birds creator Rovio has decided to use the hype to create a similar game. Rovio has just launched 'RETRY' game that looks like Flappy Bird. With 'RETRY', Rovio is taking us back to the 8bit age and graphics are quite antique. The gameplay trailer suggests that the game is a glorified version of 'Flappy Birds'. Although there is a Flappy Bird heart, the game has a lot of other things going like collection coins and moving through various different obstacles. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta0SJa6Sglo The game has been released under Rovio Lvl 11 name, which is the studio name that will be used for gaming titles not related to Angry Birds. The game is already available in the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. Just like its previous titles, Rovio is doing a soft launch by making the game available only across select countries and the first launch countries are Canada, Poland and Finland. The game is soon expected to be available in other countries and is also expected to come to Android devices. Source

LG G3 was spotted in live images and press renders recently. Today @evleaks has posted two images of the phone. One image shows the close up of the phone's back at an angle that looks like brushed metal finish. Images that were leaked recently revealed the phone in white with plastic back. According to @evleaks the back would not attract any fingerprints. It is not clear if the back would have self repairing technology like the G Flex. This seems to be some new material to prevent smudges and fingerprints. Another image shows that the phone has a removable back cover and a removable battery. It also shows the micro SIM slot, but it doesn't show the microSD slot. According to earlier rumors the LG G3 would come with a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 processor (Snapdragon 800 or 801 SoC), Android 4.4 with flat Optimus UI, 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS+, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB / 3GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, expandable memory up to 64GB with microSD, 4G LTE and 3000mAh battery. LG will unveil the LG G3 on May 27th. Looks like we can expect more leaks before the phone gets official.

After the Harman Kardon edition of the HTC One (M8) with bundled Harman AE-S earbuds, the company has unveiled Limited Edition Captain America S.H.I.E.L.D. HTC One M8 in the U.S. This comes in Gunmetal Gray like the original M8 and has a numbered S.H.I.E.L.D. etching on the back. It also comes bundled with Captain America wallpapers that can also be downloaded from the HTC website for other phones. All the features would be similar to the original HTC One (M8). HTC is giving away the limited edition device through super selfie special promotion on their Facebook and Twitter pages for the U.S. customers. HTC released the One M8 in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold colors. The Harman Kardon edition comes in a unique gold with black finish. HTC is also expected to release One M8 in Red, Pink and Blue accents later this year. This Limited Edition Captain America S.H.I.E.L.D. HTC One M8 is not likely to go on sale for the general public. Wonder why HTC didn't tie up with Marvel for an exclusive HTC One or One M8 Iron Man edition since they signed up Robert Downey Jr. for a two-year deal back in August last year. Source | Via

Microsoft is all set to unveil the Surface mini, a 8 inch Windows tablet at an event in New York City on the 20th of May. It is just 13 more days until the announcement, and we don't even know how it looks, but are finally starting to see some bits and pieces of information floating around the internet. Bloomberg's Dina Bass reports that the Surface Mini will come with a Qualcomm processor, unlike its bigger brothers Surface RT and Surface 2, which run on rival Nvidia's chips. Nokia was the only other OEM to come out with a ARM based Windows tablet in 2013, which coincidentally ran on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Neowin has a lot more information on the Surface mini, which includes a 8 inch screen, stylus-laden note taking abilities with deep one note integration, Windows RT(which is now obvious) and the availability of specialized covers acting as the kickstand. But we still do not know how it is going to look or generally placed in a market that is already starting to grow in the negative. Apple's iPad mini and Google's Nexus 7 (2013) have been the fan favourites and that has translated well into sales, but ...
