ASUS has launched the new F570 gaming laptop and the thinner and lighter VivoBook 15 that come with the latest AMD Ryzen 5 processor with up to 8GB DDR4 memory and AMD Radeon Vega8 graphics. The F570 weighs in at just 1.9kg and is one amongst the lightest high-performance laptops.

For the past few days, Facebook has been accused of disclosing people’s private messages to partners without their knowledge. Facebook clarified that it worked closely with four partners to integrate messaging capabilities into their products so people could message their Facebook friends only if they chose Facebook login.
Facebook says that users could message their friends about what they were listening to on Spotify or watching on Netflix, share folders on Dropbox, or get receipts from money transfers through the Royal Bank of Canada app. These experiences were publicly discussed.

Xiaomi has introduced Mi Pay mobile payment solution in India supported by ICICI Bank and PayU. The company today started registrations for beta testing as National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has cleared Mi Pay for large group usage. The company said that Mi Pay would be integrated within the Contacts, SMS, Scanner apps as well as App Vault in MIUI and will be available for all MIUI users soon.
It added that at launch, Mi Pay will support all leading credit cards and debit cards, unlike Google Pay or WhatsApp Payments. It lets you easily transfer money to others through UPI, make payments for several utilities such as phone bill/recharge, DTH recharge, water bill, electricity bill and more. All user-generated data will be kept in a highly encrypted format within the India-based cloud infrastructure.

Google which announced Live Albums in early October this year offers Google Photos users an easy way to create albums that automatically add new photos of specific people and pets. However, the limit was 10,000 on the private album which was considered too low; thankfully, Google has now raised the private album limit to match the shared album limit at 20,000 images.
Google has silently changed the limit, allowing Live Album to expand to over 11,000 photos. The new limit can now be found on Google's support pages. Though 20,000 pictures and videos - or even 10,000 - might seem like a ridiculous number to some, it's easy to collect thousands of images over time.
Once you create a Live Album, they all come flooding in, and with the limit of 20,000 photos, most users will no longer run into the storage issues.

Snapchat has launched a new feature to its app called Lens Challenges, which allows users around the world to take part in challenges with other users. Participants of this feature can create and send “Snaps” that use a lens tied to a song, dance, holiday, event.
One holiday-themed function within the Challenges feature that is debuting along is a sing-along to Gwen Stefani’s version of “Jingle Bells.” The company regarding the Challenges feature said: “inspire creativity, self-expression, and community for Snapchatters and Lens Creators alike.” Snapchat said that the company expects Lens Studio to be used by Challenge participants.
The first community-created Lens Challenge is the “Disappear” Challenge, which invites users to share what the company calls “their most creative ‘now you see it, now you don’t’ moment.” The Lens was made by Jye Trudinger and prompts users to take two photos that superimpose, causing the photo’s subject to disappear.

WhatsApp rolled out Group Voice and Video Calling a few months back. Now it has released a design update to make it even easier to start group voice and video calls from within a group chat. You can now go to the group you want to call, tap the phone icon on the top right corner of the screen, select the contacts within the group you want to call, and choose the voice or video icon. This rolled out for iOS users in beta last month.
WhatsApp has also made it easier to make a group call from the “Calls” tab. You just have to tap the new call icon on the top right corner of the screen, select the contacts you want to call, and choose the voice or video icon. Users can call up to four people at once.
The new design update is available for all iPhone users through Apple Store and will be available for Android soon.

Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18305 (19H1) to Windows Insiders. The company says that this will be the last major WIP build of 2018. With this build, the company is introducing a simplified default Start layout for new devices, new user accounts, and clean installs.
The new layout has been simplified into a sleek one column design with reduced top-level tiles. The simplified Start layout is part of an ongoing effort designed to enhance the Start experience in the upcoming release of Windows. The company is introducing Windows Sandbox which is a new lightweight desktop environment tailored for safely running applications in isolation.
Windows Sandbox is an isolated desktop environment where you can run untrusted software without the fear of lasting impact on your device. Swiggy has announced that it has executed definitive agreements for a US$ 1 billion Series H round of funding led by existing investor, Naspers. The round includes participation from several existing investors including DST Global, Meituan Dianping and Coatue Management, along with new investors Tencent, Hillhouse Capital, and Wellington Management Company.
Swiggy’s latest fundraising round is the single largest in India’s food technology sector to date. Swiggy will use the funds to bring more quality food brands closer to consumers and address gaps in supply through delivery-only kitchens under the ‘Access’ initiative for restaurant partners. Additionally, Swiggy will use the capital to hire talent, especially for machine learning and engineering roles across mid and senior levels. OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS 9.0.10 update for the OnePlus 6T that brings several improvements, including improvements to Wi-Fi stability, Face Unlock improvements and Improvements to Nightscape performance. It has also released the first open beta update fore the phone that brings several new features.

Google with the Pixel 3 series introduced new camera feature dubbed Top Shot that helps you to capture moments precisely. Top Shot saves and analyzes the image frames before and after the shutter press on the device in real-time using computer vision techniques, and recommends several alternative high-quality HDR+ photos.
Google says that each image is analyzed for some qualitative features in real-time and entirely on-device to preserve privacy and minimize latency. Each image is also associated with additional signals, such as the optical flow of the image, exposure time, and gyro sensor data to form the input features used to score the frame quality.
Once the shutter button is pressed, Top Shot captures up to 90 images from 1.5 seconds before and after the shutter press, selecting up to two alternative shots to save in high resolution. The shutter frame is processed and saved first and the best alternative shots are saved afterward. Google’s Visual Core on Pixel 3 is used to process these top alternative shots as HDR+ images with a very small amount of extra latency, and are embedded into the file of the Motion Photo.

We had already seen several leaks of the upcoming Moto G7 series smartphones in the form of renders and some of the phones have already been certified by the FCC, now renders of the smartphones have surfaced revealing a notch display and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with signature bat logo.
We also see renders of the Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power smartphones with a larger notch compared to waterdrop notch on the G7 and the G7 Plus. Both these have a single rear camera, compared to dual rear cameras on the G7 and the G7 Plus. All the phones are expected to run Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box.

Apple has announced that John Giannandrea is named as the company's executive team as senior vice president of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Giannandrea who joined Apple in April 2018 oversees the strategy for AI and Machine Learning across all Apple products and services, as well as the development of Core ML and Siri technologies.
The team under him focus on advancing and tightly integrating machine learning into Apple products is delivering more personal, intelligent and natural interactions for customers while protecting user privacy. Giannandrea’s team is also helping to enhance the developer experience with tools including Core ML and Create ML, making it easier and faster to integrate machine learning into apps.

Samsung Galaxy S10 flagships are expected to go official in February at the MWC 2019 event. Latest we hear that the company is working on Google Night shot like feature, which may be called “Bright Night.” This feature could debut on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10.
Similar to Night Shot, OnePlus has its own “Nightscape,” Xiaomi's “Night Scene,” Honor has “Super Bright Mode,” and Huawei simply calls it “Night Mode.” Most of these camera modes have a common aim and take a similar approach; they take multiple pictures and combine them into one picture that is much brighter, shows more detail than a typical low-light photo, isn’t overexposed, and doesn’t rely on the LED flash.
Decompiling the Stock camera APK on the Galaxy Note 9‘s One UI/Android Pie build shows some interesting strings that explicitly describe a feature similar to what other night mode features do. Although this isn't confirmed, it makes sense for the company to debut it on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10. Google is shutting down support for Android Beam API that uses NFC to initiate a connection between two devices. Since NFC can’t really be used to transfer large files, the two devices then connect over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct to transfer files.
However, the API isn't going away overnight, Google is placing the feature behind a new Android platform feature flag called android.sofware.nfc.beam. Meaning, future devices running Android Q, Android Beam support will not be enabled by default. Device makers will have to declare support for android.software.nfc.beam just like they already declare support for NFC.
It is unclear if Google would add new requirements to the Android Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) to force future devices launching or updating to Android Q to not declare support for Android Beam. Google is also dropping support for seamlessly setting up Live Cases. Live Cases were a way for people to not only pick a case design of their liking but to also theme their phone with a live wallpaper that matches the case.

Xiaomi embarked its journey into the Indian smartphone market with Mi and Redmi series. Even though Xiaomi was in talks for its VFM smartphones, the major turning for the company's is indeed the Redmi Note series and specifically Redmi Note 3.
In this series, Redmi Note 5 is one of the best selling mobiles from the Chinese handset maker. Powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform, this mid-range device was shipped with Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 out of the box, and it recently got MIUI 10 update after Android 8.1 (Oreo) update. However, chances of getting Android Pie update is very bleak as of now. In addition to it, the company didn't mention any time frame for the roll out.
