Raspberry Pi has introduced a new cheaper Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ that uses the same Broadcom 1.4GHz Quad-core processor as the high-end Model B+. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2 as well as 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and comes with 512MB LPDDR2 SDRAM.
It no longer has an Ethernet port and has just one USB 2.0 port instead of four. The new model comes with improved USB mass-storage booting and improved thermal management. The entire board is certified as a radio module under FCC rules, which in turn will significantly reduce the cost of conformance testing Raspberry Pi–based products.
It is powered by a 1.4GHz 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 CPU Quad-Core processor with 512MB RAM. The company says that it will be available at a price tag of $25 (Rs.1,795 approx.). In India you can get it for about Rs. 2,150 (incl. GST).

Motorola just announced that it has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the One Power Android One smartphone in India, as it had promised at the launch in September. At the launch the company also promised Android Q update for the phone, as well as security updates for three years from the initial global launch date.
Android 9 Pie update offers even longer & improved battery life, an entirely new UI with redesigned Quick Settings and a revamped split-screen. The update also brings forth a fresh intuitive navigation, simplified volume controls and an improved Do Not Disturb mode. It also brings Dual SIM Dual VoLTE Support and an improved camera performance including the panorama feature and better low light images.
Since the update just started rolling out, it should reach everyone in the next few days. The phone available exclusively from Flipkart at Rs. 15,999.

Earlier: MediaTek introduced the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC yesterday. At the MediaTek event today at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018, Realme has confirmed that it will be the first brand to launch MediaTek Helio P70-powered smartphones globally. “The next Realme will be powered by P70 and it is coming soon,” said Madhav Seth, Chief Executive Officer, Realme India.
Realme India CEO at the event said that Realme 1 did very well achieving 4.5 out of 5 stars as an average rating on Amazon.in. Apple is said to be aggressively hiring engineers seeing designers with an aim to develop wireless components and processors that would weaken Qualcomm's chances of supplying chips for future iPhones. This month, Apple published 10 job listings on its website for chip design-related positions in San Diego.
This marks the first time the Cupertino based technology giant has publicly recruited for such roles in the Southern California for chip design. Apple is advertising for engineers to work on multiple types of chip components, including engineers to work on the company’s Neural Engine artificial intelligence processor and wireless chips.
The company is said to be seeking hardware and software engineers to work on wireless components. It already houses chip designers in several locations, including in prime areas. Today the company has rolled out stable Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the smartphone, as it had promised, after few months of beta testing.
Android P includes Adaptive Battery that uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the apps, App Actions that helps you raise the visibility of your app and help drive engagement using machine learning, and Slices are a new way to surface rich, templated content in places like Google Search and Assistant.

Google launched the Pixel 3 series phones worldwide and they are already on sale in major markets. However, it looks like the company isn't done yet as a new variant dubbed Pixel 3 Lite surfaces. The device in question is powered by the latest Snapdragon 670 SoC and packs a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Microsoft is said to be planning on releasing a new hardware product which is an updated Xbox One console but won't be in the Scarlett devices which are next-gen consoles and are not expected until 2020 but in 2019. The company is planning to release a disc-less console.
However, if you have physical games lying around, Microsoft has a plan for that. It will have a ‘disc-to-digital’ program, which as the name states, turns your physical games into digital downloads. You will have to take your disc to a participating retailer and trade in your disc for a digital download. The goal with the new console is to lower the price point for the hardware.
The current cost of the Xbox One is $299 and the company is looking to lower that price by possibly as much as $100; the new console price point is expected to be $200 or less. In addition, the company also has a revised Xbox One S SKU that is targeted for later in the year that focuses solely on cost reduction but does feature a disc-drive.

Facebook is said to be internally working on bringing 'Watch Videos together' feature within Messenger. Meaning, you and your friends can watch a synchronized video over group chat on your respective devices. The company is aiming to make users spend more time on Facebook Messenger while creating shared experiences that are more meaningful and positive.
The feature was first spotted in Messenger’s codebase which describes Messenger allowing you to “tap to watch together now” and “chat about the same videos at the same time and Everyone in this chat can control the video and see who’s watching.” A Facebook spokesperson confirmed that this is an “internal test” and that it doesn’t have anymore to share right now.
However, it is unclear where users would find videos to watch; it might allow you to enter the URL from Facebook or share a video from there to Messenger. The company might include a new video browsing option into the message composer or Discover tab. Facebook could allow the feature to work with video partners like YouTube.

Verizon's 'My Numbers', a new app for Android lets you add up to four additional numbers to a single smartphone with unlimited domestic calling and texting.
This allows you to add personal and business line on a single phone, however, each line costs you $15 per month. But if you a really good reason for having a new number, the price shouldn't stop you. Each line in My Numbers comes with unlimited calls and SMS, and you can sync the call and message records across up to five different phones.
Verizon's My Numbers supports individual control of the numbers as well, meaning you could have the business line active only during the working hours. However, any messages beyond working hours go to voicemail. Verizon also supports porting these virtual numbers to another carrier. You can download the 'Verizon My Number' app from Play Store.

After confirming that the world's first MediaTek Helio P70-powered smartphone will launch under new 'U series', Realme today announced that the phone will be called Realme U1 and will be launched exclusively on Amazon.in on November 28th.
The company says that it will come with most powerful selfie camera ever for capturing flawless selfies.
It also has a Dewdrop notch that was introduced with the Realme 2 Pro in September, so we can expect high screen-to-body ratio with minimal bezels.
The MediaTek Helio P70 is based on the same TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology as the predecessor, but this comes with multi-core APU operating at up to 525 MHz for fast and efficient edge-AI processing. The AI engine promises a 10 to 30% AI processing boost compared to the Helio P60.
It has a slightly over clocked ARM Cortex-A73 2.1 GHz CPUs and four ARM Cortex-A53 2.0 GHz CPUs in an Octa-core big.LITTLE configuration as the P60. It has ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU operating at up to 900 MHz, which promises a 13% performance improvement, compared to the Helio P60. It has support for 20:9 displays at Full HD+ resolution.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched POCO F1 running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with a skin on top, called MIUI For POCO. At the event, the company promised to roll out Android 9.0 Pie in Q4. Today, it has started rolling out MIUI Global Beta 8.10.30 based on Android 9.0 Pie to closed MIUI Beta testers.
