The Pebble Smartwatch has proven to be quite popular and has amassed a fair amount of developer support. Due to the lack of a consolidated place to get hold of these applications and watchfaces, users have to hunt through third party apps and websites to download them. Pebble aims to solve this problem with the launch of their app store early 2014.   The new App Store will be a part of an updated application for both iOS and Android and will have subdivisions in seven categories. These categories will include : Remotes Games Notifications Tools & Utilities Watchfaces Sports & Fitness Daily Developers will have to ensure that the apps run on version 2.0 of the Pebble SDK as that will be the base minimum required to be allowed into the store. Users will have the option of downloading and installing third party and circumvent the app store as well. The Pebble Smartwatch pairs with Android and iOS devices to let you see notifications, emails, messages and more on your wrist. It lets you interact with said notifications as well to a certain degree. With the recently revealed SDK, third party apps will now have a lot more capabilities including local storage on the watch.

At the Abu Dhabi event earlier this year, Nokia announced their first phablet - Nokia Lumia 1520. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is the first in various aspects - first Windows Phone phablet, first Windows Phone to sport a Full HD 1080p display and the first Windows Phone device to run on a Snapdragon 800 SoC. The specialty about the Lumia 1520 is that it retains the goodness of a PureView camera from the Nokia Lumia 1020. Though it doesn't have the huge 41MP sensor like the one on Lumia 1020 or Nokia 808, it comes with a little modest 20MP PureView camera that comes with a similar over-sampling algorithm. Nokia Lumia 1020 is currently being hailed as the king of smartphone cameras and while the Lumia 1520 may not threaten the place of Lumia 1020, it will definitely give it a run for the money with the extra features that it offers. Despite packing a smaller sensor, the new software optimizations for camera that have come in Nokia Lumia Black update seem to improve the quality of images. We have the Nokia Lumia 1520 with us and we took its camera for a run in the neighborhood to see how good ...

It's always fascinating to see the growth of a communications platform. The mobile phone grew worldwide thanks to a company called Nokia that connected people with calls and SMS as the medium, but in this age of apps and Smartphones, it's Whatsapp that's doing all the connecting. We have been watching its explosive growth over the course of two years, and it has been really interesting. Today, the company's blog has announced that the service has crossed a whopping 400 million monthly active users, with almost a quarter of them - 100 million added in the last four months. This is seen as a huge growth for a space, in which there is suddenly a lot of competition, with some of them even willing to shell out big bucks for TV promotions and so on. However, it remains to be seen if people embrace choice or go for ubiquity. Today, we’re proud to announce that because of you, WhatsApp has reached a milestone that no other mobile messaging service has achieved: 400 million monthly active users, with 100 million active users added in the last four months alone. This isn’t a count of people who just registered for WhatsApp – it’s ...

Xolo A600 Review

Budget Android smartphones with dual SIM capabilities never seem to stop coming and today we have another budget Android smartphone from another Indian manufacturer. Xolo A600 is a budget Android smartphone that is currently priced around Rs. 7,100 and comes with a decent display, a dual-core processor and a 5MP back on its back. Is it worth buying? Lets find out. Design, Build and Handling The build and design of the Xolo A600 contradict its pricing and the budget category that it belongs to. The build feels quite premium and the choice of materials used is quite interesting for a phone at this price. The design language is however, nothing much different. On the front, we have a glass slab that has the display beneath it and on the sides and back, we have a matte finish material which gives the device great gripping. The top and bottom part of the phone have a chrome finish material enhancing the premium look. On the front, we have the 4.5inch display which occupies most of the real estate. Above the display, we have the Xolo logo above which we have the earpiece. Towards the left of the earpiece, we have the proximity and ambient sensor ...

Earlier this week Samsung unveiled the Smartphone Gamepad, a gaming controller for smartphones to improve the gaming experience. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition with GamePad bundle has been outed by a German website, AllaboutSamsung.de, who got hands-on the retail box. Even though Samsung announced that the GamePad has been optimized only for Android 4.3 devices like Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3, the Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition is likely come with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. The Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition would have similar specifications of the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch WiFi tablet . Since the GamePad dock has been designed only for phones with screen size ranging between 4 and 6.3 inches, it will not fit the tablet. The tablet connects to the GamePad over Bluetooth and also comes with an HDMI adapter in the box so that you can connect it to a TV. We already know that Samsung Smartphone GamePad is priced at 79.99 GBP (Rs. 8,140 approx), but pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition is not available.

Nokia Lumia 525 Hands On

Nokia announced the Lumia 525 sometime back last month and basically, it was a Lumia 520 with a very slightly different design and 1 GB of RAM. The Lumia 525 is primarily for addressing the low RAM issue on Windows Phones. Phones with 512 MB of RAM, like the Lumia 520, were not allowed to download some apps and games from the Windows Phone Store because of them demanding more resources. This was partly solved with more optimizations from the developers' side, but we still see a lot of new apps and games releasing with the limitation, so Nokia simply went the other way and updated the 520 with 1 GB of RAM, and that's exactly the reason why 525 exists. It was revealed at an event in Goa today that the Lumia 525 will be arriving to India during the first week of January 2014. The Lumia 520 is already the best selling Windows Phone in India and we hope the 525 directly replaces it. That said, we went hands on with the Lumia 525 at the Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa, you can find our impressions below. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA-oY6Hp5Zs As we mentioned earlier, the Lumia 525 is basically a 520 ...
