Ultimate Ears, a brand of Logitech has launched the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM Freestyle Bluetooth Waterproof speaker in India. It has a completely waterproof design with IPX7 ratings, promises 10-hours of battery life and 100-foot wireless Bluetooth range.
The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM Freestyle Bluetooth Waterproof speaker is capable of delivering massive, crisp, clear 360-degree sound. Since it is a waterproof speaker, you can sink it in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. The UE button on the top of the speaker lets you play, pause and skip the song. After Chrome, Google is also rolling update to its Photos app and the only change is the ability to add captions in photo books. However, digging a little deep into the app reveals support for editing stereoscopic images and new suggestion types that might pop up for some of your photos.
This update brings the ability to add captions to Photobooks, simply open a photo book from your drafts and there you will find a new text tool button in the title bar. You can also tap on the bottom portion of the white border to bring up the same view. Once you enter the text, a preview will show up in the sample page.
Google Photos seems to be taking steps to enable editing VR media. The code dug deep in the app are part of a message that shows up when editing a stereoscopic image. Though the message indicated that the edits are only previewed with one of the two images, but the changes will be applied to both images in the pair. It is also unclear what kind of edits can be made to stereoscopic images, but it's pretty safe to assume color adjustments will be one of them.

After V30+, LG has finally started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the LG G6 smartphone in India. This will turn the phone into LG G6 ThinQ and also brings out several new features, including new camera app layout, but it doesn't bring AI Cam like the V30+. After updating, the start screen of the device will now show LG G6 ThinQ branding instead of LG G6.
The LG G6 Android Oreo update is 1.81GB in size, comes with build number OPRR1.170623.032 and software version V20f-IND-XX. It also includes Android security patch for July, 2018. Check out the complete changelog below.

This week OPPO confirmed that F9 smartphone will launch in Vietnam on August 15, and OPPO India today confirmed that the F9 Pro smartphone will launch in India on August 21st. Now OPPO has announced that F9 will be launched in Philippines as well on August 15th. The boAt Rockerz 275 are pretty typical as far as design goes. A neckband style model, the band is larger and weighted down at the ends allowing it to sit comfortably on your collarbone. A mild ripple pattern on the ends gives it a bit of a design flourish.

A cyber-security firm in an interesting revelation has discovered a flaw in WhatsApp that allows scammers to alter the content or change the identity of the sender of a previously delivered message. Hackers can create a hacked version of the WhatsApp and change the “quote” to give an impression that someone sent a message they did not actually send.
WhatsApp acknowledged that anyone can manipulate the Quote feature, but the company didn't agree on as a flaw. According to the research firm, the vulnerability so far allows for three possible attacks; Changing a reply from someone, Quoting a message in a reply to a group conversation to make it appears as if it came from a person who is not even part of the group, and finally, Sending a message to a member of a group that pretends to be a group message but is in fact only sent to this member, but the member’s response will be sent to the entire group.

As promised, Xiaomi has launched its Mi A2 smartphone under Android One initiative in exclusive partnership with the search engine tech giant Google. This device comes equipped with a dual camera setup -- 12-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, Sony IMX486 sensor along with a 20-megapixel secondary rear camera with Sony IMX376 sensor to capture depth information for portrait shots with AI.
It also has a intelligent scene detection and has auto sensor section as well . The front side of the device is taken care of the same 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor for the front camera with soft LED flash and AI beautification.

ACT launched its Gigabit broadband services in Chennai this week. It has also upgraded its plans for users as well at no extra cost, in just 3 months after the last upgrade. In most plans speeds have also been upgraded. ACT Fibernet’s Retail 1999 plan now comes with 250Mbps speed up from 200Mbps even though the 2TB FUP remains the same.
ACT is also allowing users who are using 200Mbps plan, to upgrade to Gigabit plan by paying Rs. 2000 for Gigabit switch. The company has also upgraded its SME plans from 200Mbps to 1Gbps, but the Giga plans seem like a better option since they offer more data and speed post-FUP compared to these.

Sony might be preparing to launch new smartphones at the IFA on August 31st. Looking at the UAProfs user-agent profiles, the two phones come with model numbers H84XX (H8416) and the second is the H94XX (H9436, H9493).
Going by the previous model numbers, the Xperia XZ2 Premium had model number H81XX, the Xperia XZ2 had H82XX, and the Xperia XZ2 Compact had H83XX. So, it is likely the H84XX might be another flagship device; the XZ3. As for the second model, we haven't a Sony model in the past with a similar model number, so it a bit difficult to judge the series.
However, both devices will sport an FHD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels). Unfortunately, that is where all the good stuff end, so it might be a while before we see any further details on the upcoming Sony flagships.

Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in India today. Now Airtel has announced that 128 GB version of the smartphone is available for order on its Online Store at a down payment of Rs. 7,900 and 24 monthly instalments of Rs. 2,999. This comes to a total of Rs. 79,876 for 2 years including the plan.
The company is also offering instant financing with EMIs that will come built-in with a post-paid plan. The built in plan includes 100GB data per month, unlimited calling and bundled content like 1 year Amazon Prime membership and free subscription to Airtel TV and Wynk Music.

OPPO R17 with model numbers PBEM00 and PBET00 with in-display fingerprint sensor, and cheaper PAGM00 and PAGT00 models with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor surfaced, now the OPPO R17 Pro has surfaced in first poster that reveals triple rear cameras arranged vertically. This also has a gradient design. It is said to come in two variants, one with Snapdragon 710 and the high-end version is said to be powered by Snapdragon 845 with 10GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

Google released Android 9.0 (Pie) earlier this week for its Pixel devices and also said that it is working with several OEMs to roll out the update. Now HTC has confirmed Pie update for its flagship smartphones, including the HTC U11 that was introduced running Android 7.1 (Nougat). It is also the first company to confirm the update for several devices.

The company updated HTC 10 to Android Oreo, even though it was launched running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), looks like it is not getting the Android Pie update.
Android Pie comes with lots of new features and improvements including navigation gestures, Adaptive Battery that uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the apps, App Actions, and more.
HTC is expected to add more devices to this list in future and it will reveal time frame for the roll out soon.
