Apple seems to be prepping on launching a new MacBook Pro revamp later this year as the model is now spotted surfacing the Geekbench benchmark test. According to the listing, the model is MacBook Pro 15,2 and it is powered by the Intel Core i7-8559U Coffee Lake CPU, runs up to 28W. Since the CPU is yet to be shipped on any product, hints that this model would be a modern update to Apple’s MacBook Pro line. The chipset is a quad-core CPU that has a 2.7GHz base frequency and turbo boost up to 4.5GHz. The new model usually arrives at the end of the year and this time around we will also be seeing a low-cost Apple MacBook Air model as well and it comes with a 13-inch Retina display. Though the MacBook Pro line-up is definitely due, we haven't heard much about whats coming. If the Geekbench scores and details it reveals are legit, we can expect a solid CPU upgrade and according to Intel specifications, this model comes with 8 MB L3 cache and Iris Plus integrated graphics. The benchmark suggests Apple is sticking with LPDDR3 RAM, but then again it means that the possibility of 32GB RAM upgrade option is unlikely. The benchmark ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be unveiled on August 9th and the company is planning something big with the S Pen this time around. Over the weekend we heard reports that the Galaxy Note 9’s S Pen might be able to control music playback, long-range self-timer. Now the FCC certification more or less confirms Bluetooth support. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 S Pen comes with model number EJ-PN960, will connect to the Note 9 over 2.4GHz Bluetooth LE. The FCC listing refers to it as 'Stylus Pen' and the name 'N960'matches up as an accessory to the Note 9’s model number of SM-N960. The FCC listing, however, doesn't reveal any other functionality, then again, popular leakster stated that the Note 9 S Pen can be used to control timers on the phone from distance, as well as music playback. The S Pen’s button will work similarly to perform actions on a pair of Bluetooth headphones; you could click it to pause, long-press or double tap to skip tracks or perform another action. The unlocked Note 9 for the US has also passed through the FCC with model number SM-N960U. Source | Via

At the Google I/O 2018 event the company introduced the Duplex Assistant  AI-based phone call technology. The feature uses Assistant to make phone calls and book appointments for users when asked. Then again, Google's Chrome team has officially renamed the experimental 'Chrome Home' interface to 'Chrome Duplex.' To avoid any confusion, the company is now renaming Chrome Duplex to Chrome Duet. Chrome Duplex is finally taking shape with Chrome 69, it packs a design that balances easy access to controls on large devices and the traditional top address bar. Now the latest change comes to its name and to avoid the obvious confusion with another Google product. Since the Google Duplex is a wide-ranging technology that spans across both Assistant and Search, it is understandable why it deserves the name. The Chrome Duet rename is not yet live in the latest build (69.0.3481.0) of Chrome Canary for Android. So the change should happen in the coming few days. The information behind this name change comes as a code change request in Chromium Gerrit, which reads: Rename Chrome Duplex to Chrome Duet This rename is to avoid name collision with Google Duplex; a feature completely unrelated to Chrome toolbars. According to latest report, Intel wont be providing 5G modems for Apple’s 2020 mobile devices. The Cuppertino company has even notified Intel that it would not use its modem in its next-generation mobile device. Furthermore, the development of the model, internally codenamed "Sunny Peak” has been halted and the Intel team that's working on the product will be redirected to other efforts. Intel in its communications described Apple as the “key mobile customer” for the developed 5G mobile modem. It even expected Apple to be the “main volume driver” for the product. To clarify, Sunny Peak is a 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth component designed by Intel for Apple’s upcoming iPhones. Intel executives in the communication stated that Apple is putting “a massive effort” to launch 5G in their mobile products. Speculation for not bundling Intel 5G could be dependent on various reasons, said Intel executives. The introduction of a new Wi-Fi standard called WiGig (802.11ad) “into any mobile product brings new and unanticipated challenges. As of now, according to Intel executives, the comany is putting its maximum efforts in improving "Sunny Peak" and get the modem in 2022 Apple iPhones. This news falls in line with previous reports from Northland analyst Gus Richard who back in June said that Intel ...

Huawei is getting ready to introduce a new 2-in-1 wearable; TalkBand B5. This hints that the company doesn't want to give up on the TalkBand series which it introduced back in 2014. The TalkBand is a concept that bundles smartwatch features with a pop-out Bluetooth headset into a single device. Huawei TalkBand B5 pic.twitter.com/lR0KosP3NP — Evan Blass (@evleaks) July 5, 2018 Thanks to popular leakster Evan Blass, we now know how the Huawei TalkBand B5 looks like. However, there no details are known at this moment, but if the TalkBand B3 which was launched way back in 2016 is any clue, Huawei might have made some improvements internally, even though the design looks identical at first glance. Off lately we have been seeing patents and design renders of Huawei smartwatches; we have seen one that is specially designed around gaming and another with the ability to store a set of earbuds. Unfortunately, unlike the TalkBand B5, these two ideas remain just a patent for now. Since we now know the existence of the Huawei TalkBand B5, we should now more details about it as we move forward. Source

Samsung has been patented multi-display full screen smartphone, and it is titled as the 'Electronic device involving display,' and the patent has been granted by WIPO on July 5, 2018. The patent describes four different design variants, all of which shows a display at the front and rear.  The noticeable difference is the size of the screen edges and the placement of the camera. Depending on the design, two or three displays are used to effect the displayed design. Two models have a thin metal bezel on the sides, which also houses the antenna. However, the other design has the display running all the way around the device. The company might be using a third display for this which is significantly smaller and flexible which makes it possible to place it along the side of the device. The third display is provided with an optical transparent layer. The displays are mounted on an inner housing. Obviously, the front and rear display panels can function independently of each other. The Korean manufacturer patented a fullscreen smartphone with magnetic strips. It will use these strips to create an even larger screen area. Similar strips also appear in this patent. Though there is a patent design, we are not expecting to see such smartphone designs shortly. Source | Via

Samsung has posted its earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2018, which reveals that it will post 14.8 ( 14.7 ~ 14.9) trillion Korean won ($13.2 billion approx.) in operating profits for the quarter, just 5.18% increase from a year earlier. The main reason for this likely to be due to strong weaker-than-projected sales of its Galaxy S9 series smartphones unveiled earlier this year. Sales of OLED to Apple Inc. have also been weaker than expected, while the growth of semiconductor prices has been slowing. In the second quarter, revenue will decrease about 4.9% from a year earlier to 58 (57 ~ 59) trillion Korean won, says Samsung’s forecast. Samsung has been posting record profits for the last four quarters, and in Q1 2018 it posted new all-time high quarterly profit. Samsung did not announce the performance of each business division. We should know the exact profit amount and division-wise results when Samsung releases its full earnings results later this month. Samsung will introduce its next flagship, the Galaxy Note9 next month. Source

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone next year and rumors started flowing in months before the launch. Latest we hear is that the Galaxy S10 will pack triple rear cameras, being a 10th-anniversary flagship, we expect nothing short from Samsung to grab all the attention.  Since the S10 might come in different sizes and variants, the biggest of all will sport a triple camera setup at the back.  According to a new report, the Galaxy S10’s top model could have a 12-megapixel Dual Aperture lens, similar to the Galaxy S9, another lens with a 123-degree 16 MP (f/1.9) wide angle lens, and a 13 MP f/2.4 lens on the other. It is also possible that the mid-sized Galaxy S10 could also feature “super wide-angle” lens instead of the telephoto lens. However, the wide angle lens won’t have either autofocus or optical image stabilization, much like how the LG setup is. This also gives consumers a reason to opt for the biggest Galaxy S10 model. Although, none of the details are confirmed yet, and things could change by the time the Galaxy S10 arrives. On the same note, it is also known that Samsung Galaxy S10 might also pack an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now according ...
