Apple seems to value the Indian market relatively more than it used to in the past and this is evident from the fact that it has launched its latest iteration of iPhones and iPads quite soon in India. The latest iPad Mini is also currently available in India. iPad Mini with Retina Display belies its changed internals with a similar build aesthetic as that of its predecessor. The first difference that you would notice on the new iPad Mini is its amazing RETINA display which was missing in the predecessor. That is probably one of the biggest changes, but not the only change. In addition to adding a high resolution display, Apple has also given the iPad Mini the sheer muscle power that is present in the Apple iPad Air and iPhone - Apple A7 64bit processor. The looks and the solid aluminum build are the only remnants from the original iPad Mini. We recently unboxed the all new iPad Mini with Retina Display and today we bring you the photo gallery of the new iPad Mini. You can check out the photo gallery of the latest iPad Mini right below. The LG G2 and the Nokia Lumia 1020 are both innovative in their own respects, making it hard to choose between them, but which one is your choice when asked to choose between these two? Time for you to vote! LG G2 Review | Nokia Lumia 1020 Review The LG G2 is a all rounder flagship which wants to have the best of everything while the Nokia Lumia 1020 is a flagship that wants to take the cameras on smartphones to the next level. Qualcomm today announced that Steve Mollenkopf will be the next CEO of Qualcomm. Mollenkopf is currently employed as the Chief Operating Officer at the company. The announcement comes at an interesting time when Microsoft is said to have been pursuing Mollenkopf as a potential successor to Steve Ballmer. He would have joined an interesting line up of potential successors to the Microsoft throne including Ford CEO Alan Mulally, VMWare CEO Pat Gelsinger and Microsoft's own Head of Business Development, Satya Nadella. The timing of the announcement hence doesn't seem like a coincidence. Mollenkopf will be replacing Paul Jacobs and will take up the position of CEO effective from 4th March 2014. This is immediately after the company's annual shareholder meeting. Paul Jacobs who is the son of Qualcomm founder, Irwin Jacobs, will retain the position of executive chairman of the company. Mollenlopf has been with Qualcomm since 1994 and has led QCT which is the company's wireless chipset business division. He was also responsible for the acquisition of Atheros in 2011 for $3.1 billion. [Via - ATD]

Google today announced that their Maps Navigation beta will now cover 25 more countries including a healthy spread between Africa, Europe, Central America and Asia. This brings the total tally up to 99 countries. The list of countries includes: Andorra Bangladesh Bhutan Burundi Central African Republic Croatia Djibouti Gabon Guadeloupe Haiti Lesotho Libya Maldives Mongolia Puerto Rico Republic of Congo Samoa Serbia Sierra Leone Somalia Togo Tonga Tunisia Vanuatu Zambia Unlike certain nations like Algeria, Bahrain and Russia where navigation is available only in some parts of the country, these 25 countries will have complete coverage for all major roads. Most of the new additions are in Africa though you do see a few more Asian and European nations in the mix. The updated list of maps should be infinitely helpful to travellers who are increasingly relying on maps on smartphones to help them find their way around. [Source - Google]

iPad mini with Retina display vs iPad mini Photo Gallery

By launching the iPad Mini with Retina Display relatively early in India, Apple is showing that it is beginning to value the Indian market. Last year, when Apple announced a smaller iPad called as the iPad Mini, it missed one of the vital aspects - Retina Display; yet sold in large numbers. The tech industry was pretty sure an iPad Mini with Retina Display was coming in 2013 and as expected Apple announced the iPad Mini with Retina Display. The first difference that you would notice on the new iPad Mini is its amazing RETINA display which was missing in the predecessor. That is probably one of the biggest changes, but not the only change. In addition to adding a high resolution display, Apple has given the iPad Mini its best processing chip - A7 64bit processor, the exact same one that powers the larger iPad Air and smaller iPhone 5s. However, since the Aluminum build of iPad Mini is hardly criticized, Apple has decided to retain the same solid build. We recently unboxed the all new iPad Mini with Retina Display and brought you the photo gallery of iPad mini with Retina display. Today we bring you the photo gallery of ...

Google and LG fixing hardware issues with Nexus 5 with minor redesign

Google's Nexus 5 is one great phone for its price and currently it is Google's best smartphone in the market. Google is giving all the attention that this handset, manufactured by LG, demands. Earlier, when the phone was launched, people claimed that the camera was not up to the mark as Google had widely advertised the camera on the Nexus 5. Then there were reports from users that the loudspeaker audio isn't that great and that the physical buttons on the sides are not that great and clunky. Google seems to be responding pretty fast to user demands as they have just recently started seeding Android 4.4.2 KitKat to the users with camera issues fixed. They are also concentrating hard on the hardware part by working with LG to correct the issues. Google seems to have fixed the loudspeaker issue by making the speaker holes at the bottom of the phone a little bigger. The buttons have also been built more solidly and now they are said to feel less clunky. An user has posted the photos comparing the first version of Nexus 5 to the new improved Nexus 5 which has bigger speaker holes and better built buttons. The microSIM card ...

Windows Phone 8.1 leak suggests incoming on-screen controls

Rumors have been going around for a while that Microsoft might drop the hardware buttons requirement for their mobile operating system. This first leak by the infamous Evleaks seems to reaffirm this. There's not much to go on here other than a partial screenshot that displays the back, windows and search buttons. While we're not huge fans of onscreen controls, it does bring with it a lot of benefits for manufacturers. Not only will it reduce the entry cost for low end phones, it will also allow Android phone manufacturers to use identical hardware thereby reducing their R&D costs. To the end consumer, you can expect lesser bezel space which is otherwise eaten up by the capacitive buttons. Like Android, we expect the onscreen controls to fade away when using full screen applications like a movie player. Partial Windows Phone "Blue" screenshot. pic.twitter.com/LnV9h0MMKL — @evleaks (@evleaks) December 14, 2013   It is very early to expect concrete details around the next major Windows Phone release. In all likelihood, Microsoft will be revealing the operating system at its annual BUILD 2014 conference which has been scheduled to be held in April. Alongside onscreen controls, the update is also believed to include a personal assistant dubbed Cortana ...

Remember Notion Ink with their innovative but quirky Android tablet that incorporated a Pixel Qi display? Roughly 3 years later they're back in action with the Notion Ink Adam II. The tablet is running an almost AOSP build of Android 4.2.2. Internal specifications include a 1.5Ghz Dual Core Cortex A9 processor and it has 1GB of DDR3 RAM. Storage is a bit limited at 8GB but it can be expanded via the microSD card slot.  Specifications include 1.5Ghz Cortex A9 Processor 1GB RAM 8GB storage + micro SD expansion 10.1" IPS Display with a resolution of 1280x800 Secondary display for notifications Speakers rated for 101.8 dB Aluminum construction The tablet will ship in both WiFi and 3G variants. The display is a 10.1 inch IPS panel. Notion Ink has played it safe by avoiding Pixel Qi technology and no doubt that helps in cutting cost too. The resolution leaves a lot to be desired though at just 1280x800. The tablet has a trick up its sleeve in the form of a secondary display on the spine that can be used to see notifications and contextual data. Additionally, the tablet is made of aluminum which makes it feel quite premium. The WiFi variant is priced at Rs. 16,499 while the ...

LG has been a little bit late in bringing software updates to its Android smartphone series, but things seemed to have changed for the South Korean manufacturer.
