Huawei earlier this month has unveiled GPU Turbo technology, which according to the company would increase device performance by 60% while reducing power use by 30%. The company would enable this tech on a Huawei phone via a software update and it promised that it will roll out to several of their smartphones.
Now the company has revealed a detailed schedule for the rollout, sharing which devices, as well as regions, will get the update and when. The GPU Turbo technology is already present on the Honor 9i, and the beta testing for Huawei Mate 10 series and Honor 10 is underway. It is also looking for Huawei P20 and P20 Pro users to start beta testing the tech. Here's the schedule for Huawei and Honor phones.

If you're a group admin, you can now remove admin rights from other participants. Select the admin in "Group info" and tap "Dismiss as admin."
Group admins can now choose who can change a group's subject, icon and description by going to "Group info" and tapping "Group settings."
WhatsApp today is rolling out a new feature to its app, like with many recent updates to groups, this also bring a new feature to the group. If you are a group admin, you can now disable the chat features from the group settings. This means that except for the group admins, members cannot send messages within the group.
All other participants, when the group settings are set to “Only Admins," won’t be able to send any messages in the group. This applies text to messages, images, videos, voice messages, etc.

Xiaomi launched Mi A1 back in September last year under Android One programme in collaboration with Google with an aim to keep the Android version updated for next couple of years. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised regular security patch updates every month along with Android Oreo in 2017 itself for Mi A1.

Apple is said to be working on re-building its Maps from the ground up, and the company is said to be using first-party data gathered by iPhones with a privacy-first methodology and its own fleet of cars packed with sensors and cameras. This new product from Apple will be introduced in San Francisco and the Bay Area with the next iOS 12 beta and will cover Northern California by fall.
With every version of the iOS update, Maps gets updated with improvements, more responsive to changes, rich visuals. It's been four years since Apple began to develop its new data-gathering systems and this will eventually help Apple cut down the reliability on third-party data to provide the basis for its maps.

Microsoft has been working on a new mysterious Surface device; codenamed Andromeda for at least two years. Though the device appeared in patents, reports, and in operating system references multiple times and will include a dual-display design, it never saw the day in the light. According to a Microsoft internal document, the device is said to be a pocketable Surface device.

Microsoft describes the Andromeda project as something that it has been quietly incubating internally, and that will create a “new and disruptive” device category to influence the overall Surface roadmap. It will also blur the lines between a PC and mobile. It packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top, a 12-megapixel rear camera with flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portraits and AI scene detection. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced 16-digit Virtual ID (VID), which is a random number mapped with the Aadhaar number. This can be used instead of Aadhaar number wherever eKYC compliance is needed. You can generate 16-digit VID on UIDAI website here or mobile app by entering your 12-digit Aadhaar number (UID), security code and OTP that you receive on your mobile number attached. You can generate a VID once a day, and there is no expiry period.
This will be operational with its Authentication User Agencies (AUAs) which have migrated to VID and UID Token. UIDAI said that telecom companies and e-sign provider AUAs not using API version 2.5 and e-KYC API 2.5 starting July 1 shall be charged Rs. 0.20 for every transaction performed. This charge will be waived AUA has fully migrated to APIs 2.5 by July 31. All the other AUAs including banks should migrate to VID and UID Token using Auth API 2.5 and e-KYC API 2.5 by August 31.

After rumors, OnePlus has officially introduced the Amber Red version of its flagship OnePlus 6 smartphone that joins the Mirror Black, Midnight Black, Silk White and OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition versions of the smartphone. Google released Android ‘P’ Beta 2 (DP3) for the Pixel smartphones last month, now it has released Beta 3 (DP4) for the phones. Android P Beta 2 included the final APIs (API level 28) as well as the official SDK, the latest beta includes the latest bug fixes and optimizations for stability and polish, along with the July 2018 security updates. It also brings iconography refresh, removing the fill from icons across the entire interface.
The latest preview update includes the Beta 3 system images for Pixel devices and the Android Emulator, as well as an update to the Android Studio build tools to include D8 as an independent tool. It has been about two weeks since the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 got certified by TENAA in China. Now the company's CEO Lei Jun has finally shared an image of the retail box of the smartphone.
