Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone in India back in February, which went on sale exclusively on Flipkart as well as Mi.com from February 22nd. Even though it had been close to 7 weeks since it went on sale,  Redmi Note 5 Pro goes out of stock in seconds every week. For those who are yet to book one during flash sale, Xiaomi today announced that it will start pre-orders for the phone on mi.com from April 13th, Friday at 12PM. You need to pay the full amount to pre-order the phone, and COD option is not available. Xiaomi says that it might take 2 to 4 weeks for the phone to ship, which varies based on the demand.  If you change your mind, you can cancel the order before the product is shipped. Xiaomi recently removed Cash-on-delivery (COD) payment option for Redmi Note 5 Pro sales on Mi.com and Flipkart to restrict reselling and give its genuine consumers a better chance at purchasing its products. Xiaomi also has several restrictions for those buying the phone at Mi Home Stores.

Motorola today  introduced the Moto Stereo Speaker mod for its Z-series phone line-up. The Moto Mods are currently the most successful take on smartphone mods. The new Moto mod slaps onto the back of your Moto Z series phone like any other mod.  It also comes with an integrated kickstand, making it easier to place the phone on a flat surface while watching videos. You can also attend calls via the speaker. It doesn't require any pairing as well as no cords. Huawei has silently introduced Y6 (2018), its latest budget smartphone in the 'Y Series' with a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display. It is powered by Snapdragon 425 with 2GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo), has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, but it has face unlock. A couple of days ago it was reported that Xiaomi is working on two smartphones that will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670. However, a new report from XDA says that Qualcomm might be re-branding the Snapdragon 670 to Snapdragon 710 and we can now confirm that at least of the Xiaomi phone will come equipped with the Snapdragon 710. The information regarding the ‘comet’ and ‘sirius’ smartphones with upcoming Snapdragon 670 is now being re-branded to Snapdragon 710 has been revealed in the updated firmware files. Sources of XDA Developers say  that the unannounced Snapdragon 670 is no more and is instead being re-branded as the upcoming 710. The evidence for this change can also be found in a commit found on Qualcomm’s CodeAurora forums. Snapdragon 670’s or the new Snapdragon 710 comes with dual-core high-end CPU cluster (customized ARM Cortex-A75) and a hexa-core low-end CPU cluster (customized ARM Cortex-A55). Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Phone surfaces in hands on video ahead of April 13 announcement

Xiaomi's Black Shark is all set to introduce a gaming smartphone tomorrow, April 13th. Rear image of the phone already surfaced in an image, now a brief video has surfaced in China showing off both the front and back. This shows a  standard smartphone design with fingerprint sensor on the front, dual rear cameras and a glowing light on the back. This lets users easily pay Sodexo Merchants like grocery shops, kiranas, restaurants and cafes across the country easily using JioMoney without Sodexo’s physical card for the purchase of food and non-alcoholic beverages. Airtel today launched a new initiative under which customers on 2G/3G mobile devices will be eligible for 30 GB data free when they upgrade to a 4G smartphone. Prepaid customers will get free 1 GB data every day for 30 days over and above any pack they charge with. Postpaid customers will get free 30 GB data (with rollover) in their first bill cycle over and above their plan benefits. Just yesterday there were reports that Gmail is being revamped with new web U.I, smart replies and more. Today we are having the first look at the updated Gmail and how it looks once it is rolled out. The new design is said to bring it closer to the company’s tweaks for Gmail on mobile devices. The new version of Gmail includes some subtle elements of Google’s Material Design and a number of new features that were originally introduced in Google's Inbox. It is also bringing the new snooze feature that lets you temporarily remove emails from your inbox. Google Lens in Assistant and Photos can now detect cat and dog breeds

  Google made an announcement that the Lens in both Assistant and Photos would get new features like improved support for recognizing animals and this ability to detect cat and dog breeds is now rolling out to users. Earlier Google was only able to generically reply with “looks like a cat.”  Back in February, Google announced that Lens would be picking up “improved support for recognizing common animals and plants, like different dog breeds and flowers” in “the coming weeks,” and it now appears to be rolling to users. This feature is available for both Android and iOS. If Lens wasn't able to detect or find a match, it will offer up a carousel of possible results, like showing “I think one of these breeds is a match.” Selecting one will load the appropriate card with more details.
