Lava has launched Z91, the company's first smartphone with Full View display. It has a 5.7-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by MediaTek MT6739 SoC, runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Star OS 4.2 on top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, both with flash. Xiaomi was one of the manufacturers which opted for capacitive navigation keys in favor to utilize maximum screen for display, but with 18:9 devices Xiaomi had to ditch the physical keys for on-screen navigation keys as devices with new aspect ratio have minimal bezels at front. Android manufacturers have started adopting gesture support after the launch of iPhone X and Xiaomi doesn’t want to remain behind in the race. Cloudflare has launched its 1.1.1.1 privacy-first consumer DNS service that is said to speed up your internet connection and help keep it private. Anyone can use the DNS resolver and the company claims it to be “the Internet’s fastest, privacy-first consumer DNS service."
DNS is an essential part of the internet and it is typically offered by internet service providers to resolve domain names into a real IP address that routers and switches understand. Since the DNS servers provided by ISPs are often slow and use the DNS servers to identify all sites that are visited and it presents privacy problems. With the same thought in mind, Cloudflare is focusing on privacy aspect of its own DNS service and promises to wipe all logs of DNS queries within 24 hours.
Cloudflare says that it has worked with APNIC to offer its DNS service through 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. Talking about it, Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince said: "We talked to the APNIC team about how we wanted to create a privacy-first, extremely fast DNS system. We offered Cloudflare’s network to receive and study the garbage traffic in exchange for being able to offer a DNS resolver on the memorable IPs. And, with that, 1.1.1.1 was born.”

We have been seeing the trend of Lite apps for Play Store's popular apps like Facebook Lite, Messenger Lite, Skype Lite, and Twitter Lite. Along with Lite apps, Google introduced its own set of Go Apps for phones with less than 1GB RAM for Android Go (Oreo Edition) phones. It already released YouTube Go, Maps Go, Gboard Go apps.
However, sometimes it is hard to let users know about the existence of Lite apps with Play Store trending most popular apps first. However, Google is now fixing this as some users are now able to see a new message about lite apps. Google is now showing a message about the lite app's existence of the given app along with the file size of the lite app with view button.
Pressing 'View' takes you to the app listing. Obviously, this feature will only be available in markets where lite apps are officially available. Play Store is also listing the Go Apps as alternatives including the Lite apps. This surely is a nice move from Google to promote lite weight apps for users who are on the weak network.

Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones in India back in April last year for Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900, respectively. Few months after the launch the phones got a price cut to Rs. 53,900 and Rs. 58,900, respectively.
Today the phones have received another price cut in the country, weeks after the launch of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones, which did not see a huge upgrade in terms of design.

Now studies show that prolonged exposure to even very low levels of RF radiation, makes rats uniquely prone to a rare tumor called a schwannoma, which affects a type of neuron (or nerve cell) called a Schwann cell.
Researchers at the National Toxicology Program, a federal interagency group under the National Institutes of Health have tested over 3,000 rats and mice of both sexes for two years resulted in RF effects in nearly 2,500 rats from the fetal stage until death. Studies have evaluated the radiation exposures in different ways. The NTP study focused the “near-field” exposures, which approximate how users are dosed while using cell phones.

While the likes of Xiaomi and Dyson have gone for devices that either hide away in your living room or become a statement piece themselves, the Blueair Classic 480i is a big honking device made of galvanized steel with large industrial style vents. The air purifier is anything but compact but the white and grey construction is inconspicuous enough to not be an eyesore.
We like the fact that the only visible indication is a light within the Blueair logo. All controls are hidden away under a flap which makes sure that there are no distracting lights. LG may not have introduced the G7 at the MWC 2018 event but the device is surely staying in the news thanks to leaks and rumors. Today we are hearing that the device is said to feature a dedicated A.I button and f/1.5 aperture. According to the ETNews, the device is expected to go official in Seoul at the end of April and will be launched in Korea in mid-May.
The dedicated A.I hardware button will be placed on the side of the device falling in line with the recently leaked rendered images. If this rumors indeed turns out true, then LG will also have an extra button like Samsung flagship phones with Bixby button. This A.I button will let users easily access the phone’s AI capabilities including Google Assistant and LG’s own Q Lens and Q Voice.

Google today made it clear that it will no longer encourage crypto mining extension as the company will no longer accept extensions that mine cryptocurrency and the existing extensions that mine cryptocurrency will be delisted from the Chrome Web Store in late June.
Google Chrome Web store allowed cryptocurrency mining in extensions as long as it is the extension’s single purpose, and the user is adequately informed about the mining. With 90% of extension failing to follow the policies, Google is now banning all of the extension for good even if they adhere to earlier standards.
However, Google says that extensions with blockchain-related purposes other than mining will continue to be permitted in the Web Store. Google in the blog post said: "The extensions platform provides powerful capabilities that have enabled our developer community to build a vibrant catalog of extensions that help users get the most out of Chrome." Sadly, taking advantage of these capabilities, malicious software developers attempted to abuse the platform at the expense of users.
This new policy is to ensure that Chrome users continue to use the browser to its fullest with the inclusion of extensions and without exposing themselves to hidden risks.

Earlier: Google introduced its Google Home smart speaker back in October 2016 and the Google Home Mini was introduced in October last year. Google is all set to launch them in India this April, according to several reports, including a report from ET that also says that they will be priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 4,499, respectively.

Microsoft today announced that it had enabled digital payments services on Microsoft Kaizala; a communication and productivity tool in India by integrating YES BANK and MobiKwik payment services using both organizations mobile payment infrastructure.
This payment integration in Microsoft Kaizala platform will enable users to quickly send or receive money without having to leave the Kaizala mobile application. It also allows to make peer to peer payments in one to one and group chat conversations via the MobiKwik wallet and via YES BANK’s Unified Payment Interface (UPI) integration. The UPI payment integration on Microsoft Kaizala works with all 86 banks that are already participating in UPI.
Microsoft Kaizala application was launched in July 2017 in India with an aim to offer instant messenger, a collaboration portal, and a productivity enhancer. Microsoft is also offering existing Office 365 customers through early adopter program can avail 12 months of free subscription to Kaizala Pro. The app is optimized for 2G network for better connectivity in remote locations. Microsoft Kaizala is available for free on Android, iOS and Windows platforms.

LG Electronics today announced that it has signed up South Korea’s most popular K-Pop boy band, BTS as its brand ambassador for smartphones globally. BTS group will star in a series of TV and social media campaigns for LG’s mobile products, beginning with the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, which will likely be the G7 that is expected to go official later this month.
