TellTale games, the developers of the "Game of the Year 2012 - The Walking Dead", had released their next game based on the Fables short stories, "The Wolf Among Us", for console and PC earlier. It is now also available for the iPhone and iPad on the app store. This is keeping up with the tradition of releasing their game on the most popular mobile platform(for games), as they had done the same with The Walking Dead. With cell shaded graphics and an amazingly immersive story line that changes based on the decisions you make, The Wolf Among Us seeks to continue the awesome story telling that TellTale is known for. It has received rave reviews from critics all around, and in the mobile form, the point and click game should be as good as how the Walking dead game was, or at least we hope. Download The Wolf Among Us($4.99) from the app store Set in a Neon-filled fictional city, the game reminisces characters from the Aesop's Fables short stories, like the pigs, the wolf and more and intricately spins a detective story line around these characters. Bluetooth, a ubiquitous wireless technology that's commonly found on most devices these days, is receiving a minor core specification update today, to 4.1. The earlier update that came out in June 2010, which was Bluetooth 4.0, brought several new forward looking specifications like Bluetooth Smart, that has now enabled the use of wearables like Smartwatches, but it's getting better now. The 4.1 update brings better connection management for devices that constantly go in and out of range, like a Smartwatch and also brings bulk data transfers which can be sent as a batch once the data collection device(like a smartphone) comes inside range. This enables for a much better experience with wearables, which have been directly aimed at, in this update. There are a substantial number of changes in 4.1 but the major changes are with respect to usability of course - Coexistence — engineered to work seamlessly and cooperatively with the latest generation cellular technologies like LTE. Bluetooth and LTE radios can communicate in order to ensure transmissions are coordinated and therefore reduce the possibility of near-band interference. The coordination between the two technologies happens automatically, while the consumer experiences the high quality they expect. Better Connections — provides manufacturers with more ...

Samsung had big plans for its yesteryear flagships - Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when it announced that both phones will be skipping Android 4.2.2 update and will be directly updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The big plan seemed to go well for the South Korean electronics giant as it released the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 right on time, but only to be halted later because of performance issues. Samsung Galaxy S3 started receiving the Android 4.3 update during the first week of November in parts of Europe, but eventually during the middle of the month, Samsung pulled out the update citing performance issue reasons. Some of the issues that were faced by users included - Wake up lag, Random Freezing, Huge battery drain, Bluetooth Audio issues during playback in car, Stuttering music playback with stock Samsung music app, Device freezes as soon a call is received (Black screen issue), Poor RAM management, Wi-Fi issues and more. Owing to these setbacks, the company stopped the update and said that they are working on the issue. Finally, after a couple of weeks, Samsung seems to have squished the bugs in Android 4.3 firmware for Samsung Galaxy S3 as it has started seeding the update for ...

Nokia is still one of the most loved brands in India, and Indians are quite music loving people. Nokia understood that massive business opportunity few years back and before the competition, launched Nokia OVI Music services globally and in India. Back then Nokia was the only mobile manufacturer invested heavily in Entertainment and Music services in India. Yes, world had Apple iTunes but in India Nokia Ovi Music was the only service with massive tie-ups with majority of Music Labels, Artists, Copyright Owners, etc. Nokia Dropped the OVI branding and their Music services renamed to Nokia Music. Nokia Music Service became stealthy killer weapon for company, thanks to the massive music content available for absolutely free to Nokia Music Unlimited Customers. Yes that too DRM free with option to download high quality 256Kbps MP3 tracks directly from Nokia Music website or Nokia Music Player. Except Apple's iTunes, there is not a single Music service available in India even today which provides more than 20 million tracks with huge regional content with tie-ups to almost every local and global Music Label. Smartphone photography is the next big thing and Google is taking note of all the troubles faced by Nexus 5 users. In an update aimed at squashing all those bugs, Google has started rolling out the Android 4.4.1 update for Nexus 5 users. David Burke, Director of Engineering for Android at Google, says that the update can be classified in five categories. Autofocus related fixes form the first part of that. Burke says that the team has sped up the read time for surrounding imagery to gauge the surroundings and to set up the image capture algorithms accordingly. Hence the autofocus mechanism will trigger quicker, the images will be captured faster. There have also been improvements on the exposure and white balance front. The speed improvements aren't just for capturing and post processing, the camera application itself launches quicker. Initial tests report that the application launches a whole second quicker while there's a new progress indicator in the HDR+ mode. Google has also tweaked the image capture algorithms with the photographs having a bit more contrast and more vibrant colors. Android 4.4.1 brings out the best in the Nexus 5's camera and should have positive effects on other phones too once ...

After the Asus Padfone Infinity that launched MWC 2013 earlier this year, Asus is back with the Padfone mini, a small version of the Padfone with a smaller docking station. Asus has sent out press invites to media outlets for the Padfone mini launch on December 11th in Taipei, Taiwan. The small docking station to dock the Padfone mini is expected to pack a 7-inch screen and is likely to come with a built-in battery, similar to the original Padfone station. The phone would have a 4.3-inch display. We still don't have the complete specifications of the device yet, so it is not clear if the Padfone mini would have an aluminium body like the Padfone infinity. According to the rumors, the Padfone mini would have a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) screen, powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor and a run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It is expected to come with 3G connectivity, and lack 4G LTE support. Asus did not launch the Padfone 2 or the Padfone Infinity in India. So it is not clear if the Padfone mini would come to India. Would you get one if it launches here?

Xolo A600 Unboxing Xolo launched the A600, its mid range entry in the A-series sometime back in November. It's a neat little device, powered by a MediaTek 6572W dual core processor and has modest specifications for its cheap price - Rs. 8,199. We have got it for unboxing today, and we kinda like how this device looks and feels. Yes, this is a cheap device, but that hasn't stopped other similarly priced devices like the Nokia Lumia 520 to stop short on build quality, and we think there is something very similar happening here, with the Xolo A600. Vodafone to reportedly buyout its Indian partners for Rs. 10,141 crore

Back in October there were reports that the UK telecom giant Vodafone was planning to increase its stake in the Indian unit by buying out its Indian partners. Now Economic Times reports that Vodafone Group will buy out its Indian partners by paying Analjit Singh Rs 1,241 crore and Piramal Enterprises Rs 8,900 crore for their stakes in Vodafone India. So the company would end up paying Rs 10,141 crore. Vodafone currently holds 64.38% stake in the Indian unit directly. The latest Indian Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy permits 100% stake for foreign businesses, up from the previous limit of 74% to boost the Indian economy. Another report from PTI says that meeting with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board to consider the proposal to acquire remaining stake scheduled for today has been postponed to Monday, December 9th without any reason. The FIPB’s meeting was supposed to happen on 13th November, but it was postponed to December 6th. Even though the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had already approved the proposal on December 3, difference in the valuation of stake holders in Vodafone India is the only obstacle for the buyout. Vodafone had faced several problems, including license extension issues, $2 billion-plus tax dispute ...
