Google Maps for iOS is getting a new update that brings features like restaurant wait times, improved transit directions and More. The updated app brings the version number to 4.47. The new restaurant wait times will be available at more than a million restaurants around the world.
It will let you know long you can expect to wait before being seated, and it also gets the ability to sort and search through reviews of a restaurant, store, or other business.
It also gets new transit directions feature that will let you know the transit entrance you need to go, which is available in New York, Hong Kong, Taipei, Paris, Los Angeles, Delhi, Moscow, Singapore, Madrid, Barcelona, Kiev, and Budapest.

Samsung has recently resumed the roll out of Oreo update to the S8 and S8 Plus globally, and finally, it is now rolling out to the Galaxy Note 8 in France. Just like before, the major OS update is rolling out to Samsung's flagship device just as its S-series flagship goes on sale, a trend that Samsung has been following for quite some time now.
The Oreo update is now finally making its way to the Galaxy Note 8 which is overdue now. While this is roll out completes the cycle in batches, it will surely raise the anticipation among the Note 8 user as they wait for the update to arrive in their region. For now, the changelog remains the same as the Galaxy S8, and it looks like the S-pen features also remain unchanged.
Samsung's Experience U.I 9.0 will replace the older 8.5 version and brings features like a customizable keyboard, new emoji, stickers, Bixby briefing, new color lens display settings, dual apps, enhanced DeX support, and many more changes. Facebook is said to be planning on launching the Oculus Go VR Headset at F8 Developer Conference on May 1 according to sources of Variety. Facebook declined to comment just as expected. The company first introduced the Go VR Headset back in October 2017.
During the announcement in October, company executives mentioned that the Oculus Go VR headset would be available to consumers in early 2018. Since it powers with the same software as Samsung’s Gear VR headset, it will out of the box have support for thousands of VR games and 360-degree video experiences, and other streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, and HBO. The Oculus Go VR Headset comes with an integrated display and all of its computing power directly into the headset, eliminating the need for phone or PC.
Furthermore, the headset will come with a 32 GB of onboard storage for the $199 variant, and 64GB model will sell at a higher price. Microsoft first introduced the Edge Browser beta for Android and iOS back in October 2017 and during the announcement it mentioned that browser for iPads will be made available soon, and now the day has finally arrived. Edge Browser is now finally available for iPads in beta via the Apple TestFlight system.
Just as you would expect, Microsoft has scaled up the interface of the browser to fit the large-screen and features like “continue on PC,” options to change from a light to a dark theme are accounted for. For now, however, Microsoft didn't include iOS 11 split screen support, which means you can't run any other app while browsing. But since this in beta, there's hope for the feature to make its way in the final release.

Like on iPhones, Microsoft still doesn't offer any support for tab syncing between a Windows PC and the iPad or iPhone versions of Edge, but it did mention that it is working on introducing such feature soon. Google introduced Quick Reply and Bundled Notifications with Android Nougat back in 2016, but devices running on MIUI didn’t get these features despite devices running on Android Nougat. Xiaomi announced the lightning fast MIUI 9 Global ROM back in November 2017 with many fresh changes including Split Screen, Interactive and Fresh UI changes, New Gallery App, Calendar Cards, App Vault, New Notification Shade, Mi Video App, New Mi Explorer and Mi Drop. In January Xiaomi rolled out App Vault, Mi Video App and Gallery Editor with MIUI 9.2 but New Notification Shade couldn’t make its way to Stable ROM.

Nimbus Data becomes the new record holder for the largest SSD as the company today has announced the Data ExaDrive DC100 100TB SSD and it is currently being tested with select customers. It will be available to purchase this summer.
The company says that the SSD is built for capacity, energy efficiency, longevity, and density and it features a patent-pending architecture, packing up to 100 terabytes of flash in the industry standard 3.5” form factor. It will utilize 3D NAND flash memory providing enough capacity to store 20,000 HD movies or 20 million songs, and is capable of reading and write speeds of 500MB/s.
It has a plug-and-play compatible design with existing enclosures, enabling customers to upgrade to an all-flash infrastructure without investing in entirely new all-flash arrays. The Nimbus Data is also offering a guarantee to the drive for five years without restriction.
At 100TB SSD, it is 8x more capacity than the largest HDD and offers up to 100K read/write IOps for balanced performance. Like always, these huge capacity SSD's are not targeted to the public but opens up to a possibility. No details about the pricing yet.

Huawei just announced Nova 3e, the company's latest smartphone in the 'Nova series' in China, as it had promised. It is a variant of the P20 Lite that was introduced recently packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 screen with a notch, is powered by Kirin 659 with 4GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.0 and has a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots.

HTC just announced Desire 12 and Desire 12+ smartphones in the Desire series. These have a 5.5-inch and 6-inch HD+ full-screen displays, and the similarity ends there. Xiaomi started rolling out MIUI 9.5 Stable ROM for the Redmi Note 4 last week, later some users reported the update rolling out for Redmi 3S. Yesterday Xiaomi confirmed that it is rolling out the update to Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3, Mi Max/Prime and Redmi 3S/Prime in phases. Today the company has confirmed that list of devices that will get the MIUI 9.5 update along with the roll out time-frame.

Huawei is on the verge of introducing its flagship smartphones early next week, and before the official launch, the P20 Pro and P20 have surfaced online revealing some of the details about the flagships. The P20 Pro comes with the triple rear cameras with Leica optics.
According to latest report, the P20 Pro will come with a 40-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel Telephoto lens with 5x hybrid zoom and finally the 20-megapixel monochrome camera. The P20 Pro is really a trendsetter with triple cameras that pack the essential features that one can ask on a smartphone. The triple rear cameras are supported by an IR-RGB sensor, laser autofocus, aperture sizes between f/1.6 and F/2.4, but it is unclear which sensor uses which aperture.
Huawei is also using a new system called "Light Fusion," but it is unclear what this actually does or means. Like the Samsung Galaxy S9, the P20 Pro is also capable of recording 960 frames per second video. On the front, it will have a 24MP sensor with "Light Fusion." Reliance Jio introduced the JioFi 3 back in 2016, which we unboxed in early 2017. Last year the company seems to have silently introduced JioFi 4 (JMR1140) and JioFi 5 (JMR814). Now the company has started selling JioFi JMR815, which should be JioFi 6. This measures 74 x 74 x 20mm and weighs just 95g with a 3000mAh, which is bigger than the previous JioFi models.
It has indicators for battery, signal and WiFi and has power and WPS buttons. There is a micro USB port for charging. It has a Altair ALT3800 processor, supports band 3 (1800 MHz), 5 (850 MHz) and 40 (TD 2300 MHz) for Jio.
It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support, similar to other models and lets you connect up to 31 WiFi-enabled devices and a device through USB cable. It also has a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 64GB. You can make voice and video calls even on a 2G/3G phone by installing Jio4GVoice (JioJoin previously) app and connecting it to the hotspot over WiFi.
The JioFi 6 is priced at Rs. 999 (MOP), but the MRP mentioned is Rs. 2,499. It is currently available from Flipkart.

IRCTC and Ola have signed an LOI (Letter of Intent) that will enable commuters to book an Ola on IRCTC platforms. IRCTC has now integrated the Ola booking API onto its platforms; both website and IRCTC mobile app. The service has already started which makes Ola the first mobility platform in the country to partner with the IRCTC to provide first and last-mile connectivity to commuters.
Both the companies have come to an understanding to further enhance the mobility experience and provide a one-stop solution to commuters on the IRCTC platforms. Ola cabs including Ola Micro, Ola Mini, Prime Play, SUVs, Ola Autos and Ola Share are available directly on the IRCTC website and mobile app. It also gives you an option to pre-book cabs up to 7 days in advance.
