Rockstar Games have started their discounted sale that offers four games for Android, iPhone and iPad at a discounted price. Huawei took a few tech enthusiasts on a ride in the Maglev train, to demonstrate high speed LTE that can provide download speed of up to 50 Mbps. This service is still on trial, in Shanghai. In a demo that I witnessed, Speedtest.net showed a max speed of 20 Mbps data download speed on China Unicom Network, this - while the train ran at a speed 300 Kmph. The speeds began to deteriorate as the airport came closer because the LTE network finishes halfway down the track.

MediaTek, the company responsible for the countless number of Quad Core devices in the mid range Indian market, has today revealed its "True" Octa-Core solution by taking a slight jab at Samsung's big.LITTLE based Exynos Octa 5. It has been rumoured for some time that MediaTek is going forward with its plans for a Octa Core solution of its own, but the news has finally reached "not a rumour anymore" status with the company proudly announcing this on its site. This "True" Octa Core solution, as MediaTek claims, utilizes the full potential of all the eight cores for a seemingly better performance and even better battery life management.
While the company has stayed mum on releasing the specifics of this upcoming chipset, it does vaguely describe what the advantages will be like, with respect to current Octa-Core solutions.

In a fresh leak regarding the rumored cheaper iPhone , a chinese site WeiPhone has got hold of what looks like a tub full of iPhone 5C boxes. Would the cheaper iPhone be known as the iPhone 5 C? One high possibility is Apple brings Colour to the iPhone doing away with just black and while like it did with the iPod recently.This can be fake but would take weeks or even month to fake it so this could very well be the real deal considering we are closing in on the September/October time frame for the new iPhone unveiling. MediaTek has announced MT8135 quad-core chip based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture and PowerVR Series 6 GPU. Samsung announced the Exynos 5410 Octa-core chip at CES 2013 earlier this year that uses 4 ARM Cortex A15 chips and four Cortex A7 chips. Samsung even released an upgraded octa-core chip Exynos 5420 with ARM Mail T628 GPU last week. The MediaTek MT8135 uses two high-performance Cortex A15 clocked at 1.7 GHz and two ultra-efficient Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. It also has the latest PowerVR Series 6 G6200 GPU. This SoC is aimed at high-end tablets.
This is based on ARM's big.LITTLE processing that offers enhanced performance while maintaining the power efficiency. MediaTek says that they have deployed an advanced scheduler algorithm that combines adaptive thermal and interactive power management to maximize the performance and energy efficiency benefits of the ARM big.LITTLE architecture that enables application software to access all of the processors in the big.LITTLE cluster simultaneously for a true heterogeneous experience. The Bling 3 is the 3rd phone in the Bling series Bling phone that was launched back in 2010 and Bling 2 A55 that was launched in 2011. Vodafone India has partnered with Twitter India to offer access to Twitter for Android app and mobile.twitter.com free of any mobile charges for three months without any data pack. Twitter will promote the ‘no mobile internet charges’ experience on Vodafone by clearly prompting and informing the customer on the applicable charges, especially when they are accessing links via their Twitter timeline and elsewhere on Twitter's network.
Airtel offered free Twitter access for their customers back in 2011 and Reliance launched a similar offer in partnership with Twitter India earlier this year.
Regarding the partnership, Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said,

Samsung has been mainly targeting the mid-range tablet market and now according to @evleaks, the company plans to launch a couple of high resolution tablets that could mark the company's direct entry into the high-end tablet market.
According to evleaks, Samsung is expected to launch a 12.2-inch and a 10-inch tablet both sporting a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. The bigger 12.2 inch tablet has the model number SM-P900 and its display will have a pixel density of 247ppi and the device will house the Exynos 5 Octa-core chipset. The new Exynos 5 Octa which was announced recently is expected to power the device. It will also feature Samsung's S-Pen. Rumors about the 12.2-inch Note surfaced last month.

Google unveiled the second generation Google Nexus 7 on July 24th in the Breakfast with Sundar Pichai event in San Francisco. The Google Nexus 7 2 will initially be available in USA and will gradually roll out across the globe and will eventually come to India. But ahead of its arrival, the original Nexus 7's price(16GB version) has reduced and NDTV Gadgets has spotted the device for Rs. 11,999 in Amazon by one retailer - GadgetsGuru.
The reduced prices are available only on Amazon at the moment, but we can expect the prices to come down in most of the stores. The 32GB version of Nexus 7 has also seen a price drop to Rs. 15,999. The 16GB and 32GB versions are now available for Rs 15,999 and Rs. 18,999 respectively in Google's Play Store.

Nokia is reportedly working on a range of Bluetooth 4.0 low power accessories, ever since they revealed that their phones will support the technology starting with the Amber update. One of them has been detailed by The Verge, citing sources familiar with this device. This accessory, called the "Treasure Tag" apparently is a small box that connects to the phone with Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC, and once paired lets the phone track it using Bluetooth as well as GPS using a special app.
The device also comes with a loop strap that can let you attach keys, making sure you never lose them again. The app locates the tag using the GPS too, like we said earlier, and even uses the Livesight augmented view to use the camera viewfinder and locate it. It also works the other way to locate your phone, if it's within the range. There is a button on the tag that makes the device notify you with a sound when pressed. Also, the battery of the tag is made to last for at least six months and we don't really see a way to charge it, at least from the image above.

Smart Namo is an Android smartphone that is expected to arrive by September and it is named after Gujarat's Chief Minister, Narendra Modi. Namo is an independent body of fans of Mr. Modi. The LG G2 had been officially confirmed as the upcoming flagship phone from LG, but hasn't seen a proper unveiling yet. But that hasn't stopped the company from releasing an accessory called "Quick Window" for the phone, which is launching in New York on August 7th. The accessory, which works just like the Samsung S-View cover for the Galaxy S4, literally offers a quick window into some basic functions and lets you access some mini apps. Sporting various colours, as noted from the image above, the cover will presumably launch to retail along with the device itself.
With this announcement, LG is pitting the device directly against the Galaxy S4, the other Korean flagship, if that hasn't been obvious with all its previous flagship launches. So far, the company hasn't really cracked it, but the recent market share gains must have been encouraging for them to re-invigorate the efforts for a full spec'd flagship launch.
