As reported earlier, Hipstamatic went on stage with Nokia at the Lumia 925 launch event and announced that they are bringing their currently iPhone exclusive Hipstamatic Oggl app to Windows Phone 8 devices from Nokia. Popular for its filters and the funky UI, the app remains the only official solution to post directly to instagram. But Hipstamatic does have its own community too and that's called Oggl. The free Oggl app includes five pre-set lenses and films, and the ability to edit and share photos to Oggl, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The app is now available on the Windows Phone Store and you can get it here. The Oggl PRO on the other hand is an exclusive app especially tailored for the Lumia 1020's awesome camera. It has manual exposure, white balance, ISO and shutter speed, and 3x lossless zoom, which is currently usable only in Nokia's own Pro camera app. This app is exclusive to the Lumia 1020 and is not available for other devices, we presume. However, as with any high profile free app these days, there are in-app purchases, but in a subscription model. You can either pay 2.99$ quarterly or 9.99$ yearly to get new lenses and gear ...

What’s the most exciting aspect of the Maglev train in Shanghai that runs at the speed of 400 Kmph ?! Its ability to travel from the middle of the city to an airport located 30 Kms. apart, in nearly 7 minutes!!? Perhaps, one might not pay attention to the speed of the train if busy downloading data, on this train @ 50 Mbps ! Huawei took a few tech enthusiasts on a ride in the Maglev train, to demonstrate high speed LTE that can provide download speed of up to 50 Mbps. This service is still on trial, in Shanghai. In a demo that I witnessed, Speedtest.net showed a max speed of 20 Mbps data download speed on China Unicom Network, this - while the train ran at a speed 300 Kmph. The speeds began to deteriorate as the airport came closer because the LTE network finishes halfway down the track. MediaTek, the company responsible for the countless number of Quad Core devices in the mid range Indian market, has today revealed its "True" Octa-Core solution by taking a slight jab at Samsung's big.LITTLE based Exynos Octa 5. It has been rumoured for some time that MediaTek is going forward with its plans for a Octa Core solution of its own, but the news has finally reached "not a rumour anymore" status with the company proudly announcing this on its site. This "True" Octa Core solution, as MediaTek claims, utilizes the full potential of all the eight cores for a seemingly better performance and even better battery life management. While the company has stayed mum on releasing the specifics of this upcoming chipset, it does vaguely describe what the advantages will be like, with respect to current Octa-Core solutions. Enhanced multi-tasking capabilities: By allowing tasks to run concurrently with the use of multiple different cores, MediaTek True Octa-Core intelligently allocates processing power to where it is needed, both on a per-application and per-task basis. Advanced web browsing: With the unique ability to allocate individual browser tabs to CPU cores, MediaTek True Octa-Core allows for a faster, more stable web browsing experiences. In a fresh leak regarding the rumored cheaper iPhone , a chinese site WeiPhone has got hold of what looks like a tub full of iPhone 5C boxes. Would the cheaper iPhone be known as the iPhone 5 C? One high possibility is Apple brings Colour to the iPhone doing away with just black and while like it did with the iPod recently. This can be fake but would take weeks or even month to fake it so this could very well be the real deal considering we are closing in on the September/October time frame for the new iPhone unveiling. The packaging seems similar to the one used in newest  iPod touches and considering this a cheaper iPhone , it would be fair to bet that Apple wants to spend as little as possible on the box. This is one of the most detailed videos of the rumoured iPhone 5C or plastic iPhone from DetroitBorg httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44biradk84Y This is not the first time Apple would do a plastic iPhone. The iPhone 3G and 3GS were all made of plastic before they moved to a glass back on the iPhone 4 and 4S and a nice metallic design on the iPhone 5 What do you think ...

Nokia is reportedly working on a range of Bluetooth 4.0 low power accessories, ever since they revealed that their phones will support the technology starting with the Amber update. One of them has been detailed by The Verge, citing sources familiar with this device. This accessory, called the "Treasure Tag" apparently is a small box that connects to the phone with Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC, and once paired lets the phone track it using Bluetooth as well as GPS using a special app. The device also comes with a loop strap that can let you attach keys, making sure you never lose them again. The app locates the tag using the GPS too, like we said earlier, and even uses the Livesight augmented view to use the camera viewfinder and locate it. It also works the other way to locate your phone, if it's within the range. There is a button on the tag that makes the device notify you with a sound when pressed. Also, the battery of the tag is made to last for at least six months and we don't really see a way to charge it, at least from the image above. The Verge also reports that this ...

The LG G2 had been officially confirmed as the upcoming flagship phone from LG, but hasn't seen a proper unveiling yet. But that hasn't stopped the company from releasing an accessory called "Quick Window" for the phone, which is launching in New York on August 7th. The accessory, which works just like the Samsung S-View cover for the Galaxy S4, literally offers a quick window into some basic functions and lets you access some mini apps. Sporting various colours, as noted from the image above, the cover will presumably launch to retail along with the device itself. With this announcement, LG is pitting the device directly against the Galaxy S4, the other Korean flagship, if that hasn't been obvious with all its previous flagship launches. So far, the company hasn't really cracked it, but the recent market share gains must have been encouraging for them to re-invigorate the efforts for a full spec'd flagship launch. Talking of specifications, the device is also supposed to run on the latest and greatest Snapdragon 800 processor, which we saw besting our benchmark tests recently. The Quick Window accessory is likely to be shown off along with the device on August 7th, and we will try ...
