Myntra will now be a mobile app retailer and allow purchase only from its dedicated mobile app. The move comes from Myntra as it draws 80% of its traffic and 70% of sale from mobile app. This marks the first time an e-commerce platform is heavily betting on its mobile only presence owing to increasing usage of mobile shopping. Myntra had said in February that it may shut down its website once its mobile traffic reaches 90% of the total sales. As per the report, there is a 360-degree advertising and marketing campaign being planned by Myntra for announcing its app-only presence, which is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Flipkart, which acquired Myntra in May last year may also follow suit if the experiment goes down well with the fashion e-tailer. Both Flipkart and Myntra have already stopped their mobile websites from directing visitors to their respective apps.

Google is said to be in talks with Hutchison Whampoa, the owner of the mobile operator Three to make overseas calling cheap, as per a report from The Telegraph. The main aim for the talks is to allow US users to access their phones internationally at no extra costs. Google is reportedly planning to create a global network that will charge the same cost for calls, text message and data irrespective of the customer location. If the collaboration with the Hutchison takes place, Google could gain wholesale access to mobile service in the UK, Ireland, Italy and several more countries where the Hong Kong conglomerate owns mobile networks. Moving on, the report states that Google is also seeking to eliminate roaming charges for Three customers. Google announced its plans to launch a mobile network last month. The tech giant will not build mobile masts but rely on wholesale deals to use existing infrastructure both at home and abroad. This move will put pressure on the pricing of America’s biggest mobile operators, AT&T and Verizon, who enjoy higher profit margins than their European counterparts. In addition, the "small scale project", as Google calls it, could encourage operators to invest in new technology to improve mobile coverage via ...

Twitter has officially launched "quote tweet" functionality that will now embed the actual tweet instead of simply quoting it as text. The feature is coming to iPhone and Web first and will soon land on Android. Prior to this update, when you hit “quote tweet” on mobile, it just loaded the text of the entire tweet into the compose window. This will change from today and iPhone users as it will embed the tweet instead. In order to quote a tweet, users will have to Tap Retweet icon> Tap quote tweet> Add comment and tap tweet> The Tweet will then be shared with your followers as a quote Tweet. In addition, the update also lets you add 116 characters of comments to any tweet. The latest functionality addresses to most of the user complaints that it left little or no room for other users to add comments to the retweets.
