Worldwide tablet shipment will reach 234.5 million units in 2015, a modest year-over-year increase of 2.1% from 2014, as per latest IDC predictions. IDC said it expects tablet sales growth of just 2.1% this year, after an increase of 4.4% in 2014 and more than 50% in 2013. The report said that the worldwide tablet shipments are estimated to cross 269.4 million units by 2019. The shipments fell 3.2 percent to 76.1 million units in the fourth quarter of 2014, the first ever year-on-year decline since the market’s inception in 2010. "Despite the growing popularity of phablets, there still remains a portion of the market that wants to use a larger device so they can tailor their experience to the appropriate screen size. Meanwhile, an increasing number of vendors behind small tablets are reducing prices and adopting features like voice calling to entice consumers to purchase their products over competing phablets, making the dynamics of phablets vs voice-capable tablets an interesting one to watch." said Jitesh Ubrani, Senior Research Analyst, Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker. Although the outlook has been tempered, IDC still expects low but positive growth for the market in the years to come as demand in the commercial sector increases. In terms of platforms, Android will ...

Apple is expanding its trade in program and luring Andriod users to switch to iPhone, according to a report from 9to5Mac, The trade-in program from the company does not accept phones from other OEMs but that is about to change as per the report. The new trade-in program that will be offered by Apple retail stores will purely focus on getting Android users to trade-in their current devices for an iPhone. It would work similarly to the way you trade in an iPhone where Apple determines the value of the phone based on what condition it is in and a variety of other factors. OnePlus launched its 10,000mAh OnePlus Power Bank back in December last year. It is now on sale in the U.S. though the official online store. One Plus says that it is working out the logistics process for a smoother shipping experience for Europe and India, so we can expect it to launch here soon. It was expected to go on sale early 2015, but it got delayed. Regarding the shipping process and the delay, on the official OnePlus forum, OnePlus said, Some of you may be aware that shipping “pure batteries” (any battery that is not connected to or inside another product) is extremely complex due to the special shipping requirements. This led to high shipping costs for the batteries, which would've resulted in a more expensive product, and a customer experience not on par with OnePlus standards. We wouldn't ask our fans to settle for anything less. So, we are looking into alternative methods that will bring the Power Banks to European fans without compromising the cost. You are also probably wondering why there was a delay with the Power Bank release. Processing battery certifications (FCC, CE, and battery compliance) is very time sensitive. Since each country in our global market has different requirements and regulations, all ...
