We are hearing a lot of reports and rumors about Samsung Galaxy S6 for quiet some time now. Today, a new report from SamMobile is claiming that Samsung will introduce touch based fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S6.
Samsung is choosing the touch based finger print scanner over swipe based so users will simply need to place their fingerprint on the home key. The report further mentions that it will work in a similar fashion as the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and the iPhone 5S,6 and 6 Plus. It is stated that Samsung will need to introduce a larger home button to incorporate a touch-based sensor. Moving further, the report says that Galaxy S6 will have the following features:
• Fingerprint Unlock: Verifies the user’s identity and unlocks the device.
• Web sign-in: Allows users to sign into websites using fingerprints.
• Verify Samsung Account: Verifies the user’s identity when purchasing content in Samsung services.
• Private Mode: It’s not specifically a fingerprint-exclusive feature, but allows user to choose fingerprint as an unlock method.
• Pay with PayPal: Allows users to make quick and secure payments via their PayPal account using their registered fingerprints.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9300I) smartphone has received a price cut and is available for Rs. 12,499 in India. The official Samsung eStore lists the smartphone for Rs. 15,900, but Flipkart has started selling it at new rate since yesterday midnight. It was launched in India back in April last year at Rs. 25,499 running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), later it received Android 4.4 (KitKat) update.

Facebook has hired partners of a design firm Teehan+Lax along with some of the key members. It must be noted that the social network has not acquired the design firm and this is just a talent acquisition.
Teehan+Lax's three partners Jon Lax, Geoff Teehan, and David Gillis are all joining Facebook’s design team. The aforementioned designers could work on an entirely new feature or service for Facebook. Founded in 2002, Teehan+Lax did digital design work for hundreds of clients, notably the publishing platform Medium, social reader Flipboard and some recent work on Facebook’s Atlas ad-serving technology.
"The challenges that we will have at Facebook are challenges that interest us. They are primarily about making things that over a billion people will use… all over the world. The opportunity to work on interesting and meaningful problems at such scale is very compelling. This may seem like a contradiction given our struggles with trying to scale Teehan+Lax. But scaling a services business and working on design problems and teams at scale are very different challenges. The former wasn’t interesting to us but the latter is very appealing."

Xolo launched the Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet with Tegra 4 processor back in December 2013 for Rs, 17,999. Now the tablet is available exclusively from Amazon.in for Rs. 7,999. It has support for NVIDIA DirectStylus technology and also comes with a stylus pen. In our review we said that this is of the best tablets in the sub Rs. 20,000 segment at that time. With the latest price cut the tablet becomes more affordable and one of the cheapest tablets with a Tegra 4 processor.

Sony has officially launched the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk in India. These were announced at IFA 2014 back in September and got listed on the official website last week along with the price tag. The Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR50 powered by Android Wear has a 1.6-inch (320 x 320 pixels) TFT LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and offers notification for messages, calls and more when connected to the smartphone over Bluetooth. The Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30 wearable has a 1.4-inch e-paper display to view notifications from your smartphone, get time and monitor Lifelog activities. Motorola might be working on a couple of devices as per a new leak. Detailed specs of the upcoming mobiles from the company have been listed on the United Kingdom website, retailer Argos. Specifications and pricing info for both the Moto G Titan and Moto E Styx have been listed on the website. The Moto G Titan features a 5 inch HD display, a quad-core processor, an 8MP camera, and 8GB of storage plus a microSD card slot. On the other hand the lower-cost Moto E Styx has a dual-core processor, a 4.3 inch, 960 x 540 pixel display, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot. Both devices will be powered by the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The availability of the two smartphones that will be successors to the present Moto G and Moto E is not known yet. HTC is gearing up to announce its next flagship device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The company has already sent out invites for March 1st. Now a new report is claiming that the company will also announce a smartwatch at the event.
As per the Bloomberg report, the phone that is dubbed as M9 will sport a 20-megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel front camera. The handset is said to resemble last year's M8 in size and design, though this time it will feature Qualcomm eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Dolby 5.1 audio. It will, apparently, be available in gold, gray and silver options and have Sense 7 UI on top of latest Android.
Details regarding the smartwatch are scarce as of now but it will feature integration with Under Armour’s fitness service. Both the companies had already announced their partnership earlier this month. The HTC watch will likely to be running on Google’s Android Wear platform. We will have to wait and see what HTC has planned for the event.

Microsoft has shipped over 5 lakh Lumia 535 Dual SIM handsets in India, as per Zauba import data. The company has imported total of 502,468 Lumia 535 Dual SIM smartphones in the country.
Microsoft announced the Lumia 535 and Lumia 535 Dual SIM in November in the country. However, only the dual SIM variant was launched in India in the same month. The Zauba import data reveals that in January itself, 237,040 units have been shipped to India. All units are originating from China and their worth is estimated at $30.3 million.
The Lumia 535 has a 5-inch qHD display, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. It has a 5-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens. Toshiba has introduced a range of Android powered HD, full-HD and Ulta HD 4K LED TVs in India. The L9460 series has Ultra HD 4k screens while the L5400 series has Full HD displays and run on Android 4.4.
The new range is equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, connectivity with game controllers, plug-and-play wireless keypad & mouse; and Miracast screen mirroring. Twitter has finally acquired Indian mobile marketing start-up ZipDial following a report last week. The makes Twitter's first acquisition in the country.

New day new report about the Samsung Galaxy S6. Today, SamMobile is stating that the Galaxy S6 variant will have a two edge display resembling the one side edge display on Note Edge.
The Galaxy S6 that has the model number SM-G925 is being called as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge for now. If the phone becomes a reality, the phone will be like the Note Edge only with curved edges on both the sides instead of one. The phone will utilize similar interface for its side panels similar to the Note Edge. It will have the ability to display panels from Yahoo! ZTE has announced that it is expected to nearly double its profits in 2014. The Chinese telecom equipment maker's guidance issued for 2014 shows 94.2% higher net profit of 2.64 billion yuan ($424 million).
ZTE is crediting this profit mainly due to its high-speed 4G network division and smartphone. It also attributed the rise in profits to an increase in the handsets in international markets, as well as improved contracts and expenses control. Revenue meanwhile grew 8% to 81.24 billion yuan, while earnings per share were up 97.4% to 0.77 yuan. The operating profit improving from the 1.5 billion yuan loss last year to come in at 104 million yuan.
Earnings were also augmented by improved gross profit margins as the company focused on improving contract profitability, as well as tighter cost controls, ZTE said. ZTE revealed that gross profit margin improved during 2014, as the company continued to optimize its business operations to attain higher contract profitability. The company’s financial expenses decreased through effective management of interest costs and foreign exchange exposure.

The Government of India has banned the imports of mobile handsets in the country with duplicate or fake unique identity numbers.
The move is aimed at improving security and assisting tracking callers using different SIM cards.The GSM Association and Telecommunications Industry Association are global bodies that provide unique numbers to mobile handset companies. An IMEI comprises 15-digit codes assigned to a handset and it appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made.
"GSM mobile handsets with duplicate IMEI or fake IMEI & 'CDMA mobile handsets' with duplicate ESN (Electronic Serial Number)/MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) or fake ESN/MEID are added to the list of 'Prohibited' items for import,"
Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification, reported The Economic Times.
The initiative is aimed at checking proliferation of mobile handsets with duplicate or cloned IMEI numbers, which are dangerous for national security and can be a nation threat. Mobile phones without the unique security code are making inroads into the grey market by cloning the IMEI numbers of genuine sets.

MediaTek is working on a 64-bit Octa Core SoC in the MT67XX series, which will be MediaTek's first chip that will be based on 20nm process, according to a leaked roadmap. MediaTek introduced the MT6795 SoC last year as the world's first 64-bit Octa-Core smartphone SoC with built-in 4G LTE Cat.9. It has 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs and 4 ARM Cortex-A57 CPUs and is based on 28nm process. Unlike the MT6795 SoC, the upcoming SoC would come with Cat.6 LTE and is expected to be targeted at mid to high-end 4G devices.
Details about the display and ISP support in chip are not available yet. Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 810 SoC that is also based on 20nm process will ship sometime in the first half of 2015. LG G Flex 2 could be the first smartphone to ship with the chip since the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is not expected until the end of March. YouTube for Android is set to receive new features in the latest update. The video platform has now jumped to a version 10.02.3 from 6.0.3 with these new updates.
Soon YouTube will get video filters that will enhance them and give a distinctive look. LAVA International has launched Iris Alfa, the company’s latest smartphone in the Iris series. It has a 5-inch FWVGA IPS Full Lamination display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9300I) smartphone has received a price cut and is available for Rs. 12,499 in India. The official Samsung eStore lists the smartphone for Rs. 15,900, but Flipkart has started selling it at new rate since yesterday midnight. It was launched in India back in April last year at Rs. 25,499 running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), later it received Android 4.4 (KitKat) update.

Facebook has hired partners of a design firm Teehan+Lax along with some of the key members. It must be noted that the social network has not acquired the design firm and this is just a talent acquisition.
Teehan+Lax's three partners Jon Lax, Geoff Teehan, and David Gillis are all joining Facebook’s design team. The aforementioned designers could work on an entirely new feature or service for Facebook. Founded in 2002, Teehan+Lax did digital design work for hundreds of clients, notably the publishing platform Medium, social reader Flipboard and some recent work on Facebook’s Atlas ad-serving technology.
"The challenges that we will have at Facebook are challenges that interest us. They are primarily about making things that over a billion people will use… all over the world. The opportunity to work on interesting and meaningful problems at such scale is very compelling. This may seem like a contradiction given our struggles with trying to scale Teehan+Lax. But scaling a services business and working on design problems and teams at scale are very different challenges. The former wasn’t interesting to us but the latter is very appealing."

These were announced at IFA 2014 back in September and got listed on the official website last week along with the price tag. The Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR50 powered by Android Wear has a 1.6-inch (320 x 320 pixels) TFT LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and offers notification for messages, calls and more when connected to the smartphone over Bluetooth. Motorola might be working on a couple of devices as per a new leak. Detailed specs of the upcoming mobiles from the company have been listed on the United Kingdom website, retailer Argos. Specifications and pricing info for both the Moto G Titan and Moto E Styx have been listed on the website. The Moto G Titan features a 5 inch HD display, a quad-core processor, an 8MP camera, and 8GB of storage plus a microSD card slot. On the other hand the lower-cost Moto E Styx has a dual-core processor, a 4.3 inch, 960 x 540 pixel display, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot. Both devices will be powered by the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The availability of the two smartphones that will be successors to the present Moto G and Moto E is not known yet. HTC is gearing up to announce its next flagship device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The company has already sent out invites for March 1st. Now a new report is claiming that the company will also announce a smartwatch at the event.
As per the Bloomberg report, the phone that is dubbed as M9 will sport a 20-megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel front camera. The handset is said to resemble last year's M8 in size and design, though this time it will feature Qualcomm eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Dolby 5.1 audio. It will, apparently, be available in gold, gray and silver options and have Sense 7 UI on top of latest Android.
Details regarding the smartwatch are scarce as of now but it will feature integration with Under Armour’s fitness service. Both the companies had already announced their partnership earlier this month. The HTC watch will likely to be running on Google’s Android Wear platform. We will have to wait and see what HTC has planned for the event.

Microsoft has shipped over 5 lakh Lumia 535 Dual SIM handsets in India, as per Zauba import data. The company has imported total of 502,468 Lumia 535 Dual SIM smartphones in the country.
Microsoft announced the Lumia 535 and Lumia 535 Dual SIM in November in the country. However, only the dual SIM variant was launched in India in the same month. The Zauba import data reveals that in January itself, 237,040 units have been shipped to India. All units are originating from China and their worth is estimated at $30.3 million.

ZTE has announced that it is expected to nearly double its profits in 2014. The Chinese telecom equipment maker's guidance issued for 2014 shows 94.2% higher net profit of 2.64 billion yuan ($424 million).
ZTE is crediting this profit mainly due to its high-speed 4G network division and smartphone. It also attributed the rise in profits to an increase in the handsets in international markets, as well as improved contracts and expenses control. Revenue meanwhile grew 8% to 81.24 billion yuan, while earnings per share were up 97.4% to 0.77 yuan. The operating profit improving from the 1.5 billion yuan loss last year to come in at 104 million yuan.
Earnings were also augmented by improved gross profit margins as the company focused on improving contract profitability, as well as tighter cost controls, ZTE said. ZTE revealed that gross profit margin improved during 2014, as the company continued to optimize its business operations to attain higher contract profitability. The company’s financial expenses decreased through effective management of interest costs and foreign exchange exposure.

The Government of India has banned the imports of mobile handsets in the country with duplicate or fake unique identity numbers.
The move is aimed at improving security and assisting tracking callers using different SIM cards.The GSM Association and Telecommunications Industry Association are global bodies that provide unique numbers to mobile handset companies. An IMEI comprises 15-digit codes assigned to a handset and it appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made.
"GSM mobile handsets with duplicate IMEI or fake IMEI & 'CDMA mobile handsets' with duplicate ESN (Electronic Serial Number)/MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) or fake ESN/MEID are added to the list of 'Prohibited' items for import,"
Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification, reported The Economic Times.
The initiative is aimed at checking proliferation of mobile handsets with duplicate or cloned IMEI numbers, which are dangerous for national security and can be a nation threat. Mobile phones without the unique security code are making inroads into the grey market by cloning the IMEI numbers of genuine sets.

MediaTek is working on a 64-bit Octa Core SoC in the MT67XX series, which will be MediaTek's first chip that will be based on 20nm process, according to a leaked roadmap. MediaTek introduced the MT6795 SoC last year as the world's first 64-bit Octa-Core smartphone SoC with built-in 4G LTE Cat.9. It has 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs and 4 ARM Cortex-A57 CPUs and is based on 28nm process. Unlike the MT6795 SoC, the upcoming SoC would come with Cat.6 LTE and is expected to be targeted at mid to high-end 4G devices.
Details about the display and ISP support in chip are not available yet. Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 810 SoC that is also based on 20nm process will ship sometime in the first half of 2015. LG G Flex 2 could be the first smartphone to ship with the chip since the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is not expected until the end of March.
