Sony SmartWatch 3 Unboxing and First Impressions

$

Smartwatches may have initially been considered a passing fad when Sony originally announced the Smartwatch range and Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear last year but over the past twelve months, we've seen many manufacturers announce smartwatches; from multiple new Samsung Gears to smartwatches from LG, Asus, Motorola, Huawei and Microsoft there's a lot of competition. To make things even tougher, Apple announced the Apple Watch (although it doesn't go on sale until early next year) and arguably the most important addition to the lineup is the Android Wear OS but is Google's wearable platform the answer? Having used a range of smartwatches (from the Android-toting Galaxy Gear to the Tizen-based Gear 2 range and the proprietary Pebble and previous Sony Smartwatches), we've experienced a lot of different implementations yet the first thing I noticed with Android Wear is that it's all Google. From Google Now-like cards to Google-backed voice input and a range of applications, Android Wear is Google's answer to proprietary platforms. As someone who has previously experienced the poor range of applications available on other devices, Android Wear presents something of a revelation - given that Google are in charge of developing the platform, developers seem to have taken ...

Carphone Warehouse is set to join Samsung, Vodafone and online retailers in stocking the new Galaxy Note Edge in the very near future. A snap of the company's internal intranet - as leaked to Pocket-Lint shows the company plans to stock Samsung's unique curved display but doesn't confirm when it will launch. As we've already heard, Samsung plan to launch the Galaxy Note Edge in the UK on November 28. However when announcing this date, the company also said pre-orders would open on November 14th but that date has come and gone. It's unclear which networks Carphone Warehouse will offer the handset on but with Samsung also set to offer it direct, you'll be able to buy it both SIM free or on a pay monthly deal. Clove Technology currently has the handset listed at £650 which should translate to a pay monthly contract price of approximately £47-£57 per month. The Galaxy Note Edge is a niche-sibling of the Galaxy Note 4, sharing almost all of the specs aside from the curved Edge Screen on the right hand side of the handset. Edge Screen can then be used to display information or provide additional options (e.g. when playing music) and allows you to interact with your handset without having ...

In the UK and can't wait until Nexus 6 pre-orders open on Google Play tomorrow? Want to order the Nexus 6 and get it at launch but worried that Google won't have enough stock tomorrow and it'll sell out before you can place your order? If either of these applies, then you're in luck.  Hours before Google launches Nexus 6 pre-orders in the UK, online retailer MobiCity have begun offering the handset in both colours (Black and White) and with both storage options (32GB and 64GB). The 32GB Nexus 6 will cost you £497.99 whilst the 64GB will set you back £599.99; surprisingly, the 32GB comes in £2 cheaper than Google Play but for those wanting a 64GB, you're better off waiting for Google as MobiCity are charging £50 more than Google Play. Nexus 6 is the latest addition to the Google Nexus range but unlike it's predecessors, it doesn't sacrifice specifications to keep the consumer price low. This year's vanilla Android flagship comes with a 6 inch Quad HD (2k) AMOLED display, 32GB/64GB storage, 3GB RAM, a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor and a 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. Following the release of the HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet, the Motorola-made Nexus 6 ...

Vodafone is reportedly in talks with Sky to base its upcoming TV service around the broadcaster's internet streaming set-top box service, Now TV. The deal is likely to result in further enhanced collaboration between the two companies and add further fuel to the rumours that Sky will launch its own mobile network based on Vodafone's network. The Telegraph report that Vodafone could enhance its ties with the British broadcaster in a joint fight against BT (and now EE) in the lucrative quad-play market. BT and EE both offer land line, pay-TV, broadband and mobile to their customers and with Vodafone expected to launch their own pay-TV and broadband services next Spring, it may need its partnership with Sky to challenge BT and EE. Vodafone already offers Sky Sports Mobile TV as part of its Red 4G contracts and recently introduced Now TV as an option for customers to choose as well. Now TV gives customers access to thousands of TV shows and movies whilst also providing three months free access to Sky Movies (which is just in time for all those Christmas movies on Sky Christmas - channel 403). A distribution deal with Now TV would offer Sky access to Vodafone's 20-million-plus customer ...

One feature of the new iPhone 6 is the stunning new design which features Apple's slimmest body yet, a larger display and a smooth rear that looks stylish but doesn't provide any grip. When using the iPhone 6, it's clear that the handset needs some protection but finding a protective case that will protect a fragile handset can be quite tricky. This is where the Tech 21 Impact Case comes in as it provides some stylish orange aesthetics whilst also protecting your iPhone 6 from drops, bumps and bruises. Made of Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), the case is perfect for users who want a flexible case that provides ultimate protection. The Tech 21 Impact Case provides much needed grip for the iPhone 6 and is ergonomically designed to provide extra comfort and prevent you from dropping your handset. The Tech 21 Impact Case is designed for (and is only compatible with) the iPhone 6 and features cut-outs for all major ports including the charging port, speaker, microphone and headphone jack at the bottom and the camera including flash. In testing, we did not experience any flash flare when capturing photos as the space between the edge of the cutout and the flash is sufficient enough so ...
