Nokia launched the Lumia 930 smartphone in India earlier this month at a price tag of Rs. 38,649. The Lumia 930 comes to India months after the launch in several countries. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD ClearBlack AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS. Veedeo 2.0 for iPhone brings new filters, films, smart file sharing and more

Veedeo, the app that allows users to create video clips with custom text is getting a major update. The 2.0 version has been optimized to work on the recently launched iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6. Launched  in December last year, the video creating app is getting 22 new filters and films. Users can add color filters and adjust the intensity of the filter on the videos. The app also gets smart file sharing feature that adopts the file size of the exported video based on the connection speed like WiFi, 4G, 3G and so on. This reduces the upload time and saved bandwidth consumption. Finally, the app gets support for four new languages viz, Greek, Portuguese, French and Spanish. Dell introduced new Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets running Android 4.4 (KitKat) back in June. Now these tablets are available in India from official Dell website. The Venue 7 has a 7-inch HD (1280×800) display, powered by a dual-core Intel Atom (Z3460) processor, while the Venue 8 comes with a 8 inch full-HD (1920×1200) display and a dual-core Intel Atom (Z3480). Both the tablets have 1 GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD slot. Both these have a 5MP rear, the Venue 7 comes with a 1MP front facing camera while the Venue 8 has a 2MP front-facing camera. Xolo Q2100 Camera Samples

Xolo launched Q2100, the company’s first Android smartphone with a fingerprint sensor earlier this month. We brought you the unboxing and benchmarks of the smartphone recently, here we have the camera samples. The Q2100 has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with Exmor R sensor, f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. It has same features as other MediaTek-powered smartphones, but the UI is different. Facebook Rooms anonymous app released for iPhone

After Paper, Slingshot and Mention, Facebook has released Room, an anonymous chat app for iPhone developed by Facebook Creative Labs team. As the name suggests, it's a chat room app that was popular a decade back. It lets you create rooms for the things you’re into, and invite others. You can add text, photos, videos and more.You can also add a cover photo, change colors, create custom pinned messages, customize member permissions, and more. Facebook plans to add more customizable features and ways to tweak the room in future. Highlights of Facebook Room Pick a topic: Create a home for people who are as into the topic as you are. LG just announced NUCLUN (pronounced NOO-klun), the company's first SoC targeted at high-end smartphone. It is an Octa-Core processor with four 1.5GHz cores ARM Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 cores. It is based on ARM big.LITTLE technology for better multitasking capabilities and even has  LTE-A Cat.6 support  for maximum download speeds of up to 225Mbps. This processor debuts in the LG G3 Screen smartphone developed specifically for the Korean market. LG G Watch R to roll out globally starting from November

LG G Watch R rolled out in Korea last week, today the company has announced that it would roll out in Europe starting from November.  It was unveiled ahead of IFA and has a 1.3-inch (320 x 320 pixels) P-OLED Display, powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and is based on Android Wear platform. It is dust and water-resistant and can stay in water up to meter deep for 30 minutes. It has durable stainless steel frame and has interchangeable 22mm calf skin leather strap. The LG G Watch R comes in black color and would be available though retail sites in European countries such as France, Italy, Spain and the UK starting this November, followed by key markets in North America, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) soon after. Sony SmartWatch 3 up for pre-order in the US for $249.99, shipping October-end

Sony introduced the SmartWatch 3, the company's first Android Wear-powered smartwatch at the IFA last month. At the announcement Sony just said that it would go on sale later in Autumn 2014 without any price tag. Now the company started taking pre-orders for the smartwatch  at Verizon Wireless in the U.S, which would ship by October 30th. It is priced at $249.99 ( Rs. 15,299 approx.). Sony says it would go on Google Play Soon in select countries. Android Wear update brings GPS support and offline music playback

Sony introduced the SmartWatch 3 at the IFA last month, which would launch later this month. This this is the first Android Wear Smartwatch to come with built-in GPS support. Google has announced a new Android Wear update that would make use of GPS in the Sony SmartWatch 3 and also brings offline music playback in all the Android Wear watches. With the GPS sensor in the smartwatch, you can track your route, distance and speed without connecting it to your smartphone. Offline music playback lets you store your music on your watch and listen to it via Bluetooth headphones without your smartphones. Latest version of Google Play Music supports this. Google recommends Golfshot: Golf GPS and My Tracks that now have GPS support for Android Wear. The LG G Watch, the Samsung Gear Live, and the Moto 360 will be updated with new music functionality over the next few days, says Google.

Microsoft finished its deal of acquiring Nokia’s Devices & Services business earlier this year, after it was announced in September 2013. After some reports and some hints, Microsoft has officially announced that the Nokia Lumia brand will be replaced to Microsoft Lumia in coming weeks and months. In an interview to official Microsoft Conversations blog, Tuula Rytilä, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Phones, Microsoft, said, You might have seen that in the last couple of months, we have already made some name changes to our apps to better reflect that these apps now come from Microsoft. SwiftKey for Android finally gets Material Design themes

Months after launching its own store called SwiftKey Store for themes, SwiftKey has finally released two new themes based on Google's Material Design for its Android Keyboard. These two premium themes are called Material Dark and Material Light. These are inspired from the Material Themed Android L keyboard, but it has own unique SwiftKey touch, says the company. Unlike the Android L keyboard, secondary characters are available on long press for each key. These also have faintest of key boundaries, marking the tactile edges of the touch area. The color distribution is quite simple and is distinctly different from the most popular Minimal theme, says SwiftKey. Swifkey recently introduced Beta channel on Google Play, which brought support for several Indian languages. These new Material Design themes are available from SwiftKey Store for Rs. 59 or US$0.99.

Spice Stellar 518, the company's latest budget smartphone in the Stellar series with a whopping 4000mAh battery is now available from online retailer Saholic. Huawei launched the Honor X1 tablet in India last week at a price tag of Rs. 19,990. It is powered by Huawei's own quad-core HiSilicon Kirin 910 processor based on ARM's Cortex A9 clocked at 1.6 GHz per core. It has ARM Mali 450 GPU and 2GB RAM. Google’s Sundar Pichai said to oversee Google+, Search and other major products

Sundar Pichai, who is currently Senior Vice President at Google, overseeing Chrome, Android, and Google Apps will be overseeing research, search, maps, Google+, commerce and ads, in addition to the products he already handles, according to reports from Recode and Reuters. Six executives who previously reported to Larry Page, including the heads of research, social media and search, will now report to Pichai, says Recode. YouTube is being left with CEO Susan Wojcicki reporting to Page, this change will free Page from having as many direct reports and product units to oversee so that he can better focus on the bigger picture, the report adds.  Last week, Omid Kordestani became Google's permanent chief business officer after he temporarily took over the position three months ago from departing Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora. Alan Eustace, who oversees an area called Knowledge that includes key areas of engineering; Amit Singhal, who heads up search; Sridhar Ramaswamy, who leads ads and commerce; and Urs Holzle, who oversees technical infrastructure and Dave Besbris, who leads social, and Jen Fitzpatrick, who oversees maps, will report to Pichai, according to Bloomberg.

Samsung Galaxy A7 UA Profile shows up, reveals 1080p display and 64-bit processor

It is already known that Samsung is working on new A series smartphones with a premium look. The Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 already appeared in several leaks, even the press images of the Galaxy A5 surfaced earlier this month. Now user agent profile of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A700FD) has surfaced on the official Samsung website. This reveals full HD display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 64-bit processor based on ARMv8-A CPU. This could be Snapdragon 410 SoC. All the three A series smartphones are likely to use the same chip. This could come with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera, similar to Galaxy A5, according to earlier rumors. These would run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box with TouchWiz obviously. Samsung is yet to reveal details about the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) rollout for their smartphones.
