Microsoft CEO Nadella visits Xiaomi’s Lei Jun, What’s cooking?

China is a market that bears a lot of resemblance to its Indian counterpart. This also means that there's a lot of undiscovered talent in China, waiting to get the required exposure. This is what Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella feels. Both companies are very different in their approach to the consumer electronics market. But the fact that Nadella visited Lei Jun during his recent trip to China suggests that there could be some common ground, on which the companies would want to build. Xiaomi's devices most often find use in indie users, whereas Microsoft's offerings target the corporate consumer. If at all anything materializes, it could open the door to a whole new segment of buyers for both companies. Microsoft could do with Xiaomi's hardware expertise, whereas Microsoft's experience in the corporate world would keep Xiaomi tempted. So, what could we see next? The way Microsoft has been promoting its Windows OS -- it recently made it free of cost for devices under 9-inches of screen -- it wouldn't be a surprise to see something like say, a Windows powered Xiaomi Mi Pad, or even a Windows Phone powered Xiaomi Mi 4. Of course, this is mere speculation; there's still some time, we believe, ...

Latest on the OPPO N3: 5.9″ 1080p display, Snapdragon 805 SoC

OPPO seems to have learnt from its mistakes it made with the N1 last year. The smartphone was the first from the 'N' series, and during a time when Snapdragon 800 smartphones reigned, the N1 came with only a Snapdragon 600 to spark criticism from OPPO followers. This time though, OPPO is apparently going all guns blazing with the incoming OPPO N3; word is that the device will come with not the Snapdragon 801, but the most powerful Snapdragon yet -- the 805, with a healthy 3GB of RAM. Of course these are nascent rumours, but OPPO's known for not keeping its cards too close to its chest! Take a look at the design renders: Besides the processor, the N3 is all set to continue the N1 lineage of swivel cameras, apparently with similar design. The 13 mega-pixel OPPO N1 camera is, even after a year of existence, known to be one of the best in the business. With smartphones from compatriots like the Meizu MX4 having gone up to the 20 mega-pixel mark, we wouldn't be surprised if OPPO does the same... if not better. OnePlus has been the center of attraction for a lot of tech followers. This has not only been the case since the company launched its first device, the OnePlus One, but quite a bit prior to that as well. The interest however, exploded once the OnePlus One was announced in April this year. The US$299 device had everything in it to be a flagship killer -- display size, processor, and even RAM. However, the company faced a lack of availability, something that continues to plague the brand till date. That hasn't stopped OnePlus from expanding into other markets, though. Not long back, OnePlus announced that they would be bringing the One to India later this year; during the fans meet we hosted, we even talked to Carl Pei of OnePlus about it. It now appears that OnePlus is not only set to launch in India, but in Malaysia as well. The careers page on the OnePlus site now mentions an opening that it has for the Malaysian market. Very much like India, it is yet to be filled. READ: OnePlus One Review So if you're a resident of Malaysia and if you think you could do justice to the post, head over to the job ...
