Intel and Flipkart teamed up today to launch a range of new tablets running Android on the former's Atom class of processors. Ranging from between Rs. 5,999 to Rs. 15,999, the ET701, XT811 and XT911 tablets are a marked improvement over their first effort. We spent some time with the tablets to find out if they are a compelling purchase for first time tablet owners. Here's what we think about them.  Digiflip Pro ET701 The entry level model or the most portable one as you might look at it, the Digiflip Pro ET701 packs a 1.2Ghz Z2520 Dual Core processor. Also under the hood is 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. Not exactly high end but we found performance to be satisfactory. The tablet zips through the interface and there's nary a lag anywhere. What we didn't like too much was the quality of plastics used. The ET701 doesn't cast any illusions of being a premium device with glossy, fingerprint prone plastics all around. There's a 2MP camera over at the back while a VGA camera serves as the front facing unit. The IPS panel has a resolution of 1024x600 which is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum but the quality of ...

OnePlus One clones galore as another one hits the shelves

It looks like the OnePlus One is more in demand than we initially thought. After reporting about a couple of OnePlus One lookalikes, here's one from a fairly well-known company from China -- the Elephone G5. Elephone aren't best known for making clones, but it looks like the company wants to set the record straight with the G5. The company has chosen not to go subtle, and the design inspirations are very obvious. Specifications 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 CPU 1GB RAM 16GB on-board ROM, expandable 13 mega-pixel rear camera 5 mega-pixel front camera 3020mAh battery It's pretty clear from the specifications set that the Elephone G5 is far behind the original thing by a few light years. Anyway, the device should present an affordable solution to those who haven't been able to purchase the OnePlus One, and don't mind a clone. In addition to replicating the looks of the OnePlus One, the G5 also comes with similar lockscreen gestures that can be used to trigger certain activities/apps. Additionally, the device has expandable storage unlike the OnePlus One. No word on how soon it'll be available, but you can find more info about the Elephone G5 on the official website embedded in the source link below. Source

Nexus 9 reportedly spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark database

While the world has been going gaga over the incoming Nexus X smartphone, the tablet that's supposed to appear alongside hasn't nearly been getting as much footage. However, all that might change, and soon. Allegedly spotted in a leak is the upcoming Nexus 9 tablet. The Android L-totting slate apparently managed to score a healthy 45,923 points on the popular AnTuTu benchmark, something that hints at the processing prowess of the device. According to the source, the Nexus 9 could come with an all-new NVIDIA Tegra K1 Denver that's based on the 64-bit architecture. The device was also found to have an IMEI number associated with it, which could mean that we will see a SIM capable version of the device alongside the WiFi only. Since there's still some time to go before the next announcement, we're pretty certain that the 45,923 that it scored here could go close to and possible above the 50k point mark, as the devs at Google continue optimizing the software for the slate. We'll take this opportunity to ask: What convinces you more, a higher benchmark score or a more fluid user experience? Do let us know in the comments section. Source | Via
