Earlier this month Microsoft filed a patent lawsuit against Samsung over royalty payments. Now according to a recent report from Korea Times, both the companies are apparently in talks to come to an agreement that would out an end to the lawsuit. Microsoft has claimed that Samsung is using Microsoft’s April acquisition of Nokia’s phone business as an excuse to not pay the royalties along with the interest on late payment outstanding since September 2013. The report goes on further to point that Samsung aims to cut a “comprehensive cross-licensing deal” with Microsoft. Both the companies are reportedly entering into ‘working level discussions’ which would let them settle the patent lawsuit. It is pretty clear that the two companies want to continue working with each other as Microsoft would want to use Samsung's position as a smartphone leader to push Windows Phones while Samsung might be interested in cloud computing and other software features. The report concludes saying that settlement discussions may not take too long since the main point of contention is the renewal of terms dictating royalty payments. Apple and Samsung recently revealed that they will end the patent dispute outside US court. Source| Via

Samsung Galaxy K zoom Review: Almost there

Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 zoom last year, to place their bets on the cameraphone market. It didn't work out so well, as the S4 zoom was basically two devices slapped on together. The sequel announced this year, the Galaxy K zoom, is visibly better, with a slimmer profile and a lens unit that is more pocketable. The megapixels are higher and the phone itself gets a decent spec boost, but does Samsung get the formula right this time? Or is the company going to need a third time lucky? Let's find out in our full review. Unboxing We had unboxed the K zoom a while back, and these are the contents that come in the box - Do check out our unboxing post for further information and the video. Design, Build and Hardware walkthrough The design of the Galaxy K Zoom closely follows the Samsung flagship, but makes great strides in improving upon its predecessor. The easily recognizable "Galaxy" look that Samsung has pursued since the S3, is still evident, with a white front face and generously curved corners. Even the back panel is modeled off the S5's dimpled plastic cover that was chosen over the, arguably better, leather finish that the Note 3 ...

Motorola is likely to discontinue its most popular Moto G smartphone in India, few weeks before the arrival of its successor. Flipkart is advertising as "Get yours before it's gone! Last stock of Moto G 16GB" on its website, so this might be the last stock of the smartphone to be sold in India. Motorola reduced the price of both 8GB and 16GB variants of Moto G by Rs. 2,000 in India recently, due to huge competition from other manufacturers. Moto G is definitely one of the most popular smartphones in India that boosted the sales of the company. The company became India’s 4th largest smartphone vendor in the second quarter of 2014 with just three smartphones. Back in June Motorola said that it sold one million units of Motorola smartphones through Flipkart. At the launch Moto G did not have any competition, so it faced a huge demand for a few weeks.
