Zen Mobile has launched the Zen Ultrafone 701 HD, the company's latest flagship Android smartphone in India. Pre-bookings for the phone started earlier this month. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, full HD video recording, Panorama Shot, and Burst shot with upto 99 shots on the go. It has a 3.2 MP front-facing camera and comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. This is the company's first high-end smartphone sin the Ultrafone category, and it is aimed at smart and tech savvy youth.
It comes with range of pre-loaded apps including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, WhatsApp, GTalk, Zen Mini Store, Skype, MX Player, Contact Plus, Flash Light, Emoze, TOI, Saavn and more.

Idea Cellular has launched the AURUS 2, successor of the first AURUS phone that was launched last year. It has a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display similar its predecessor, but this runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1 GHz processor, instead of 800MHz processor. It has a 3.2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It is aimed at 3G users in semi-urban and rural markets.
It has Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support, 515 MB RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD. The connectivity features include, 3G , Bluetooth and WiFi. It has Idea TV, Idea Mall and other Social Media Apps.
The Idea Aurus 2 is priced at Rs.6490 and is available from major mobile retail stores and Idea outlets across India. Idea users can recharge for Rs. 261 and get 1.6 GB of 3G data and Idea TV subscription free for the first 3 months worth Rs. 1,200.

Intex Aqua Marvel+, successor of the Aqua Marvel has surfaced on the official Intex website. The Intex Aqua Marvel+ has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbead), similar to its predecessor, but the Marvel+ has a 5-megapixels camera and the battery capacity is down to 1400 mAh from 1450 mAh. Yahoo! has launched new apps today. Yahoo! Weather is a new app for iPhone that lets you view weather information and forecasts along with photos that match your location. It also has Interactive radar, satellite, heat, and wind maps. The Yahoo! Mail app has been updated to support iPad and Android tablets. The Yahoo! Sony has started rolling out the the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia Tablet S. The Xperia Tablet S was announced in August 2012 running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October, but it did not include tablets. Sony Xperia T and Xperia V got the Jelly Bean update back in February, and the Xperia J got the update last month.

Celkon CT888, the company's new tablet is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. Celkon launched the CT910 tablet with 3G voice calling support recently, but this has a high-resolution 7-inch display and a better processor. The Celkon CT888 has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and has a VGA front-facing camera. This is cheaper than the Byond Mi-book Mi7 which has a similar display and 3G support, but the Byond tablet has a dual-core processor.

First press image of the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon USA surfaced earlier this month. Now a new render of the phone has surfaced from the same source, evleaks. The Nokia Lumia 928, a Lumia 920 rumored under the codename Laser would have a Xenon Flash along with an LED flash similar to the Nokia 808 PureView. The new image looks a bit polished and the phone looks thicker than the Lumia 920 as you can see in the render. This is obvious since the Xenon flash module would be larger than the LED flash.
The Nokia Lumia 928 would have a PureView Camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) similar to the Lumia 920. Other features would be similar to the Lumia 920 including a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, Windows Phone 8 OS and a 8.7 megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video recording, Xenon and LED Flash.

The FonePad is one of the first Intel Atom Z2420 powered Android tablets to hit the market. Asus announced the FonePad at MWC 2013 this year along with the Padfone Infinity. The "FonePad" as the name suggests is a 3G tablet and phone packed into a 7 inch tablet form factor at an affordable price point. Yes there are a couple of microphones and an earpiece on the device and you can actually put the FonePad to the ear and make a phone call although we don't know if it will look cool. The 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 294 PPI pixels is bright and sharp. This uses a normal IPS screen, unlike the Xolo A1000 that has a OGS (One Glass Solution) technology that reduces the thickness of the device. The phone is slightly taller than both the A116 Canvas HD and the Xolo A1000, but the build quality is better than both.
There is an ear piece and a 3MP camera on the top along with the proximity and ambient light sensors.
Below the display the usual capacitive touch buttons for menu, home and back are present. You get haptic feedback when you press these touch buttons.

It has been a while since Nokia launched new devices in its Asha range of low to mid range priced mobile phones. Last time we saw cheap phones from Nokia was at the Mobile World Congress in which they announced the Nokia 301 and the Nokia 105, which were surprisingly not part of the Asha range. It was not surprising to think that may be Nokia is going for full touch for its Asha brand exclusively, especially with the success for devices like the Asha 311. Forming the third part of the Android flagship trifecta, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is scheduled to launch in India on 26th April. The phone will take its place alongside the Sony Xperia Z and the HTC One to compete for the position of Android flagship of 2013.

Byond Tech, popular for the Mi-Book series of tablets has launched Phablet I, in the Byond Phablet smartphone series. It has a 5.3-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) IPS capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Byond smartphones. Facebook has been trying to make its mark in the mobile segment for a while now with both hardware partnerships and software based offerings. Its latest attempt, Facebook Home, has been downloaded over 500,000 times within the span of a week. The application works as a replacement homescreen, lockscreen and app launcher with a heavy focus on Facebook content. This number pales in comparison to Instagram which brought in 1 million downloads in under 24 hours.
The software which saw an initial release in the US, was rolled out to international users on 16th April. The homescreen and app launcher replacement has been available on only a few select devices including the HTC One X/X+ , Galaxy Note and the HTC One in addition to a few others. Facebook Home has been met with tepid response from users having a received an overwhelming number of one star reviews.
