It looks like we have to wait for some more time until we see Apple's much awaited and rumored iWatch. According to noted KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company will start the mass production of the iWatch in November, reports 9to5Mac. Prior to this it was reported last month that the iWatch is launching in October. Ming-Chi Kuo is claiming that the reason for delay is owing to “complex hardware and software engineering”. The analyst also stated that they have lowered forecast of iWatch 2014 shipments by 40% to 3mn units. Giving further insights about the iWatch Kuo touted that the smartwatch will boast a flexible AMOLED display protected by Sapphire. Also, the iWatch be at least water-resistant if not waterproof. The analyst added that it will be powered by a new system-on-a-chip (SoC). The Apple iWatch is expected to collect all health related data from the user using different sensors and would also show notifications from the iOS devices it is connected to. The Xiaomi Mi3 launch in India has been a revelation of sorts. Everyone's now talking about the manufacturer, which remained unheard of by quite a section of the Indian audience until a few months back. With specifications typical of a 2013 flagship, the Xiaomi Mi3 will retail at an incredible price of just 15,000 INR. That's what Xiaomi is known for anyway; what's new is the market, not the model. Check out our unboxing of the Xiaomi Redmi The 'Redmi' series from the 'Apple of China' is another budget smartphone series, one that doesn't aim to intimidate the latest flagship, but goes the budget route instead. The Redmi series currently comprises of the Redmi Note and the Redmi 1S (which is an updated Redmi, now with a Snapdragon CPU), devices that have the potential to make desi consumers write off brands such as Micromax and Karbonn. Recommended: Xiaomi Mi3 Review- Game Changer Xiaomi shared a teaser on their social feeds a while back, hinting at other smartphone launches that might happen soon. Of course, there's no word yet on what phones these are going to be (could also be the MiTV or router, but we think that's less likely), but we'd put our money on ...

The elusive OnePlus One might not be easy to get hold of, but the device certainly has a massive following on the internet. That has caused a lot of rumours around the company to show up, some of which talk about a possible OnePlus Two aka 'Lettuce' that's apparently in the works. Their first device, the OnePlus One, is known by the codeword 'Bacon' which might be the reason behind the name for the OnePlus Two. None other than @evleaks talked about the OnePlus Two last night via a message on Twitter, which left the tech world bamboozled. This left OnePlus One hopefuls furious, because as we mentioned it has been extremely tough getting your hands on one if you don't wish to pay exorbitant prices to scalpers in China. The device, by the way, is sold without invite in China which means it's a breeding ground for scalpers. We're just working on the OnePlus One for 2014. Thanks! - OnePlus, in a statement to Android Police Anyway, coming back to the OnePlus Two controversy; Android Police reached out to OnePlus for a word on this, to which the Chinese company replied 'We're just working on the OnePlus One for 2014. Thanks!'. Folks at the startup (if ...

Hexa-core Micromax Canvas HD A190 goes on sale in India for Rs.13500

With MediaTek churning out chipsets night and day, costs of octa-core and hexa-core SoCs have plummeted through the past few months. Only yesterday did we see the launch of the ultra-affordable Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth that packs an octa-core chipset with an MRP of under 10k INR, to which Micromax's reply is the Canvas HD A190. The device comes with a hexa-core MediaTek MT6591 SoC that we previously saw on the Karbonn Titanium Hexa. With a clock frequency of 1.5GHz, the hexa-core chipset is accompanied by a gig of RAM to look after your multitasking requirements up to a certain extent. Specifications 5-inch 1280 x 720p display 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6591 hexa-core CPU 1GB RAM 8GB on-board ROM 8 mega-pixel rear camera 2 mega-pixel front facing camera 2000mAh battery Android v4.4 KitKat What's good to see here is that the Canvas HD A190 will run Android v4.4 KitKat out of the box, something we're starting to see increasingly often these days. A price tag of 13,500 INR looks a bit on the higher side, but consumers can generally expect better after sales from a brand like Micromax when compared to other Indian OEMs offering similar hardware at lower costs. via

MediaTek and Rockchip could soon have presence in the Chrome OS sphere

China's Rockchip and Taiwan's MediaTek have proven to be quite a handful with tablets and smartphones respectively, and from what we're hearing, the makers could soon extend their influence to non-Android devices. To be a bit more specific, the non-Android OS we talk about is nothing but Google's Chrome OS. The resource-light OS has proven to be a favorite among multi-system users, even though the OS itself doesn't do a lot at the moment. According to Google's François Beaufort, developers at MediaTek have already submitted code for an ARM Cortex A7-powered board which makes an experimental board. If not anything else, this could be a sign of things to come. MediaTek have been uber-successful in bringing Android phones to every corner of the world, while Rockchip are attributed to similar achievements on the tablet front. What this means is that there'll actually be competition between the two low-cost SoC suppliers. Considering that current-gen Chromebooks go for about $200 apiece, those manufactured with inputs from Rockchip and MediaTek could well end up being a fair bit cheaper. Being a Chrome OS user myself, I can vouch the usability of the system. If not versatility, the Chrome OS definitely provides practicality, a hell lot at that. via

Samsung is planning to include retina scanner on Galaxy Note 4. A tweet sent from Samsung Samsung Exynos Twitter account reads, "Security can be improved using features unique to us. That's what we envision. What would you use". Also, this tweet is supported by an image of a smartphone with an eye on it. Hence, this might suggest that the upcoming Note edition from the company might be equipped with a retina scanner. Samsung's current flaghship phone the Galaxy S 5 comes with a fingerprint scanner and also it's a competitor to the iPhone 5. A retina scanner can either add an additional security layer to the Galaxy Note 4 or substitute it for the fingerprint scanner. Previous rumors about the Galaxy S4 has suggested that the phone will have a 5.7-inch QHD display, the new Exynos 5433 octa-core processor with Mali-T760 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32 GB storage and a 16-megapixel camera. Running on Android KitKat 4.4, Samsung is expected to be unveil the Galaxy Note 4 in September during IFA 2014. via: Ubergizmo | @SamsungExynos

It's been a while since the next big thing from Apple, aka the iPhone 6, has been in the thick of the leaks and rumours action. We've reached a point where it's more or less 'another day, another iPhone 6 leak'. As you might already know, there are two version of the next iPhone that are expected to see launches, simultaneously; the iPhone 6 and the (much) larger iPhone Air (that's what the folks at the rumour mills call it anyway). To put things in perspective, if you've been missing the action lately, the iPhone 6 is expected to feature a 4.7-inch screen, while the 'iPhone Air' is touted to pack a massive 5.5-inch one to possibly mark a massive departure from the iPhone tradition. Word on the street now is that the Apple A8 (Apple's customized SoC) that might feature on one/both of these models will have a 2GHz clock, quite a jump from 1.3GHz on the current Apple A7 SoC that sits in iPhone 5S chassis. It is, however, believed to carry a lot of existing tech from the A7 including a 64-bit, dual core architecture. As always, it is believed that Samsung facilities are the ones used to manufacture ...

We talked about an upcoming Samsung phone, the Galaxy NXT, a couple of days back, and the device has apparently gone on sale in the country already. Thanks to a benchmark listing, we got some insight into the device's specs sheet that shouted entry-level. However, Mahesh Telecom from Mumbai is claiming to have the device in stock already, and has also posted a picture as proof (see below). We assume you're already aware of the specifications on this one, but just in case you aren't, here's what the phone comes with. Specifications: 4-inch 800 x 480p display 1.2GHz single core CPU 4GB on-board ROM 3 mega-pixel rear camera with flash 1500mAh battery 3G support Dual SIM As GSMArena suggests, the device could well be a cousin of the Galaxy V (Vietnam) with an identical specifications set. However, we'll wait for a word from Samsung on this before speaking any further. With homegrown manufacturers in Wickedleak, XOLO, etc. providing a much better specifications set (albeit at the cost of after-sales compromise), would you still prefer phones like this? In fact, the recently released Wammy Neo Youth packs an octa-core CPU at just a little over 1,000 INR more. Be sure to let us know of what you think in the comments section below. source | ...

LG's first QHD phone, the G3, may be available for online pre-sale in India, but the device still hasn't seen an official launch in the country. However, a teaser (a bad one at that) from the Korean fabricator reveals that the device will see a launch on the 21st this month, which is just over a week away from now. LG India tweeted the following picture earlier today, about which we're talking: The wait is about to get over. #LGG3 is coming soon to India! Another QHD device, namely the OPPO Find 7, launched in India last month but is still not available to purchase. The device was launched at 37,990 INR in the country, and it will be interesting to see what price tag the LG G3 goes with; however, it'll be safe to assume that it will be beyond the 40k INR mark. via
