Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 3, the latest iteration of its own hybrid efforts under the "Surface Pro" moniker, at an event in New York last month. Panos Panay, the guy heading the Surface group, kept referencing the Macbook Air as the Surface Pro 3's competitor and got the audience intrigued, including us, watching the live webcast from afar. What you saw above was the unboxing of the Surface Pro 3 as a standalone device. The version we bought was the 128 GB Core i5 model that retails for 999$, but without a Touch or a Type Cover keyboard.
The box contents were, as expected, minimal, as the device is mostly an Ultrabook rather than a tablet, and not many accessories are needed, except for the Type Cover which you have to buy separately.

Alleged screenshots of Android's L version has been leaked online. A Reddit user first spotted this images on Chromium Issue Tracker before it was pulled.
The two screenshots show Android screens we have not seen until now. The images that were attached with a bug report on the Chromium bug tracker shows a Google login dialog box that looks entirely different from what is present on an Android 4.4 device. Moreover, the screenshot has a 'L'in the upper left-hand corner which could possibly be a debug icon. Similarly, KitKat devices showed a “K” for USB debugging up until Android 4.4 was officially announced.
In addition there are a few UI changes and the action flow buttons have become round instead of square. There is also a bell icon suggests that notifications are muted. The screenshots come from a device with a resolution of 1280x768. That suggests that these images came from a Nexus 4.
Google is all geared up for its I/O developer conference tomorrow and we hope to hear a number of new things at the event. Let's hope Android L is also one of them.

After several rumors, the first render of the Motorola Moto X+1 has surfaced. This comes from the @evleaks that leaked the existence of the device back in April. Later it revealed that the smartphone would come with 25 custom backplate options. Moto X+1 placeholder appeared on Moto Maker website last month and Moto X+1 for AT&T showed up on official website.
The leaked press image doesn't reveal much details since it is inside a case. It clearly shows a large rear camera sensor, two microphones on the back, probably for Always-On feature. It has a front-facing speaker, similar to Moto E. It doesn't show a flash on the back, which makes us doubt if this is real.
Specifications of the smartphone is not available yet, but according to earlier rumors, it could have a 1080p screen. Looks like we have to wait for a more clear render without a case. Recently Motorola made to 64GB Moto X official. Is is not clear when we can expect the Moto X+1.

Microsoft has announced Nokia X2 Dual SIM, the company's latest Android smartphone in the X Series as expected. It has a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, powered by a 1.2 dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Nokia X software platform 2.0 based on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has Dual SIM support with dual standby similar to Nokia X, packs 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage with expansion slot. As expected, it has home and back buttons, so that you can you use the back button to go back and for multitasking and the home button to directly go to the start screen. Owing to increasing competition in the cloud storage market, Microsoft has more than doubled its free cloud storage and Office 365 subscription. The company is offering 15 GB of free storage to subscribers, matching the amount of free storage Google Drive offers. Earlier, Microsoft offered only 7GB of free storage.
Our data tells us that 3 out of 4 people have less than 15 GB of files stored on their PC. Factoring in what they may also have stored on other devices, we believe providing 15 GB for free right out of the gate – with no hoops to jump through – will make it much easier for people to have their documents, videos, and photos available in one place.

Google has expanded its Explorer Program to the UK and launched Google Glass more than two years after its debut in the US. The company announced that its wearable computer's 'Explorer' edition, which is aimed primarily at developers and 'creatives', would be available in the UK from Tuesday 24 June.
The kit, which is still a prototype - costs £1,000 ($1,700) while it is available in the US for $1500 and is available for purchase by anyone over 18 years old. Google Glass went on sale in the US last month after making it briefly available to people in April under invite only purchase. Google also launched a try and buy program in April for prospective Google Glass buyers.
Glass is a lightweight frame with a display that rests above the right eye allowing users to search the internet with voice control and watch videos, read emails and other activities. It will be available in the UK in five different colors: black, red, white, gray and blue. Also, Glass will be available in prescription eyewear. There will soon be five swappable frames and eight sunglasses from the Belgian-born American fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg.

Samsung has announced Galaxy S5 Sport for Sprint in the U.S. It's a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active with slight changes in the design and new colors. Otherwise it has similar hardware keys, IP67 water and dust resistant and specifications as the S5 Active including a 5.1-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung own UI on top. Unlike the S5 Active, this is not shockproof.

Google is adding improvements in to Google Play Games with several features, according to Android Police. For starters, Play Games is getting Quest notifications that will alert the player whenever new quests are available, send notifications letting them know a quest has started and also when the quest was completed. Helping developers expand on the use of quests within games is a great move by Google.
The second feature added is called as Snapshots that will enable players to save a game. No more information about this feature was provided by the report. Developers will be able to add snapshot functions into their game, which would make it much easier for the player to quickly jump in and out of save points in a game.
Currently, the Play Games service manages things like achievements and leaderboards. With these two new notifications, Google plans to add more power to Play Games. Google had introduced Play Games as a competitor to Apple’s Game Center, but it has failed to pick up. In March, Google added game gifting and new game developer tools to Play Games.

Micromax launched the Canvas Knight A350 earlier this year running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Soon after the launch Unite 2 A106, its first smartphone running Android 4.4 (KitKat), Micromax released Canvas Entice A105 and Canvas Gold A300 running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Now it is advertising on its Facebook and official website that the Canvas Knight comes with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
Last year Micromax A116 Canvas HD got the Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) update through service centres. It is not clear if the company plans to offer KitKat update for the currently Canvas Knight users through service or as OTA update. Android KitKat update for older Micromax smartphones was rumored to arrive earlier this year, but it didn't happen. The company is yet to announce their Android KitKat upgrade plans officially.
Xolo announced its KitKat upgrade plans for some of its older devices recently, but it is yet to roll out the update.

Microsoft is putting more power into Lumia Windows phones by updating Nokia camera app. The version 4.7.2.5 now adds support for living images that will allow users to click images in a GIF-like format. These photos are then added with a background score and hence turn them into videos.
Secondly, the camera app is getting continuous auto focus that enables faster focusing. This will help users to shoot quickly as the viewfinder will always be in focus. Moreover, the update also brings support for surround sound capture in videos cinemagraphs, smart sequences and Refocus images. The Nokia camera app integrates Nokia Creative Studio and Nokia Video Trimmer for editing your photos and videos.
It must be noted that Living Images and continuous auto-focus are currently only supported only on Lumia 930, 1520 and Icon running the Lumia Cyan software update.

The company had announced the release of beta version of Nokia Imaging SDK 1.2 in April at Build 2014. Huawei has officially announced it high-end smartphone the Honor 6. The phone boasts of a 5 inch 1080p display which covers 75.7% of the front thereby leaving only 2.86 mm of bezel.
It uses Huawei’s new Kirin 920 mobile processor that is made of four A15 cores and 4 A7 cores which Huawei compares to the Snapdragon 805.The device has a 3GB RAM, runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 and also has a custom Huawei user interface. Along with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, there is a microSD slot. It has a 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera.
The device features an aluminum casing and it also comes with CAT 6 LTE, which supports download speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Huawei claims that aluminum alloy helps to keep the overall temperature of the device a bit low, roughly by 4-6 degrees Celsius cooler.
No details about the price and availability of the Huawei Honor 6 is known as of yet.
