Foursquare, popular location-based social network announced Swarm, its upcoming location-based app. Today, it has detailed some of the features of the app. The new Swarm app would offer Insights, have Stickers, new mayorship and streaks.
The app would offer new Insights about your life after each check-in, similar to the Foursquare app, It would also have Stickers so that you can attach them to each check-ins to express how you feel or what you're doing. The number of new stickers will increase by checking-in to different types of places.
Unlike the Foursquare, the Swarm app lets you fight for mayorships between your friends, when you check-in at the same places, instead of competing with people all over the world. This lets a place have different mayors, one for each group of friends. This uses the same 60-day historical window.
The existing Foursquare will lose the mayorship option, so that you cannot hold mayorship to a place. For the time being, it will continue to show the mayor as of today, frozen in place, says the company. Similarly badges would remain with Foursquare app and the existing badges you remain in the Foursquare trophy case, but a successor is coming in the upcoming Foursquare app, promises the company.

Motorola Moto E has been spotted in a live image for the first time, less than a week ahead of launch. Posing next to the Moto G, the Moto E looks a bit smaller, but has larger bezels compared to Moto G. It also has a speaker grill on the bottom and a Motorola logo on the top. As rumored, the phone is seen in White running Android 4.4 (KitKat).
According to earlier rumors the Moto E would come with a 4.3-inch display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage with microSD slot and a 1900 mAh battery. It would also come with dual SIM support.
Motorola began teasing the smartphone earlier this week on Facebook. Flipkart has also started teasing the upcoming Motorola smartphone with a sketch that matches the leaked image. Live image of White colored Moto E (XT1022) showed up few hours back, now the press shots of the phone has surfaced on a brazilian retail site. The image shows the Moto E (XT1025) in black that has built-in digital TV as rumored earlier. The date in the phone is "Qua, 13, De agosto" which is Wed, 13th August, so this variant could go on sale in August.
As seen in the press image, the rear panel is similar to the Moto G, but the flash seems to be missing. The speaker has been moved to the front, but the front-facing camera seems to be missing in this variant. It also comes with swappable rear panels in different colors such as Turquoise and Lemon, similar to Moto G.
Other specifications matches up to the earlier rumors, but this listing says that the phone has a 1980 mAh battery. We just have to wait till next week for Motorola to release the smartphone to find out all the details.

Xolo Q900T that was announced last week is now available from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display at 312 ppi with 178-degree wide viewing angle and a 2.5 D Edge-to-edge curved glass on the front, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to most of the Xolo phones.

HTC launched the Butterfly S, successor of the first Butterfly in several countries including India last year. @evleakshas leaked the first press image of the J Butterfly successor codenamed B2. The final name of the smartphone has not been finalized, but it could be just called Butterfly 2.
The design is similar to the Butterfly with dual front-facing speakers, but this seems to have polycarbonate body, instead of metal build. The capacitive touch buttons are replaced by the HTC logo, similar to the HTC One M8.
According to HTC ROM developer @LlabTooFeR the specifications of the upcoming Butterfly smartphone would be similar to the HTC One (M8) and the phone would be released in select markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and some Asian markets.
It is not clear if the phone would have the same Duo camera arrangement on the back like the HTC M8. The leaked image shows the phone in Red, but it is expected in other colors as well.
Samsung has almost made it a trend of announcing a flagship early in the year and then deriving various other products from it. LG has just announced trio of tablets, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 in the G Pad series. The company unveiled the G Pad 8.3 back in September last year and its Google Play Edition in December. As you can see, these have new UX, expected to be introduced with the LG G3 later this month. These tablet also have Q Pair 2.0 to connect them with smartphones using Bluetooth to get notifications and Knock Code personalized lock screen.

Samsung is planning to launch Tizen powered smartphones in India and Russia, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal. The South Korean tech giant had announced last month that it will launch the Tizen based phones in Q2.
Tizen is an open source Linux-based operating system which is developed by Samsung and Intel. Smartphones powered by this OS were supposed to launch last year but were unable to meet the schedule. As per the WSJ reports, the company will unveil the smartphone at an event in Moscow in coming weeks.
Along with Russia, Samsung is also planning to launch the Tizen smartphone in India which is the potential market. In January, a Korean website had leaked images of a Tizen smartphone that is dubbed as Samsung ZEQ 9000 that was rumored to have a 4.8 inch screen with HD display.
The company is seeing the Tizen range of devices as an alternative to Google's Android and Apple's iOS. With its latest entry in OS, Samsung is targeting the emerging markets which are filled with low-cost Android devices. In March, Samsung released Tizen SDK for Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo for developers.

LG G Watch, the company's first Android Wear-powered smartwatch is inching closer to its launch. Today, the company has teased a promo video of the watch which will launchin June at an estimated price point of 199 Euros.
The smartwatch, will be the first device to hit the market that is powered by Google's Android Wear announced in March. Latest video from LG touts the smartwatch to be waterproof and encompassed in a metal body. It goes on to calling the device "Sleek and lightweight for all-day comfort. The video also claims a long battery for the device by calling it "ready for anything, anytime with a single charge." At the end, the video displays white and black model of the smartwatch.
LG G watch looks similar to any other smartwatch present in the market currently. Last month, LG had unveiled the gold version of the watch on their official Facebook page. However, it might compete with the appealing Moto 360 smartwatch that is the first one to boast a circular design instead of a standard square one.

Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 630 Dual SIM, the company's latest handsets in the Lumia series has been launched in India. These smartphones were announced last month and packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA ClearBlack IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1. These have a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and support for a range of camera apps, including Nokia Camera.
Windows Phone 8.1 also introduced dual SIM support and the Lumia 630 Dual SIM is the first dual SIM Windows Phone handset. At the Lumia 630 launch event, Microsoft has also released Nokia MD-12, the latest portable wireless speaker and Treasure Tag, a small accessory to keep other accessories close and safe. The speaker has built-in vibrating actuator on the base promises thumping bass when placed on most surfaces and connects to smartphones easily over NFC and Bluetooth.

Samsung had sent invites for an event on May 28th which appeared to be health-related, according to the invite’s description. However, the company will not launch any product at this event. Samsung's VP Stefan Heuser has confirmed to Re/Code that there will be no product announcement. He did not provide any further details about the event.
It was expected that Samsung will launch a wearable device focusing health and fitness. It must be noted that Samsung Electronics is divided in two parts, one that is engaged into TV, smartphones and home appliances while the other produces components like chips, storage, displays and more. The May 28th event is being hosted by the later part of the company.
Meanwhile, Samsung's rival Apple is rumored to launch its iWatch and is also working on an Healthbook app for iPhone that will enable users to track health related activities.

Google is about to give its email client Gmail a major makeover, as per fresh reports from Geek.com. Leaked images of the Gmail for web is getting a similar look to that of the mobile app.
The new UI for web is getting a new slide-in menu on the left-hand side of the inbox which will have all the labels like inbox, sent,mail, trash, drafts, spams and so on. While on the right side of the screen, we can see a quick access menu at the bottom that will allow users to quickly start an email. This means it is replacing the tabs like Social, Promotion and Primary that were introduced last year.
Hangouts option at the top is seen in form of a chat bubble to enable easy conversations. The new Gmail layout will introduce a pin system that lets you prioritize the emails you see first based on importance.

Nokia today unveiled MD-12 speakers and Treasure Tag at the Lumia 630 launch event. Now, a smaller version of the Treasure Tag has been spotted on the official Nokia website. For those who don't know, Treasure Tag is an accessory that combines Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC to track items from a phone.
According to the website Treasure Tag Mini WS-10 is sized at 30x30x5.8mm almost similar to that of the original Treasure Tag. It is also lighter that the bigger version and weighs at 6.2g. The tags have a range of 131 feet and the battery allows for 120 days of standby time.
The Mini version of the device however does not get few features as its big brother. Nokia has trimmed down NFC support for the mini hence, users will have to pair the device manually. Also, the Treasure Tag mini does not have a buzzer and instead uses your smartphone’s speaker to trace your missing item.
The Nokia Treasure Tag Mini comes in white with an orange silicon strap and is priced at 14,90 Euros ($16.90 / Rs. 1230 approx.). It would be available coming months.
