There were rumors about NVIDIA working the successor for this year, now the specifications of a prototype has surfaced on AnTuTu. This reveals that the next-generation Shield console could be powered by a 64-bit quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 chip clocked at 2.5 GHz with 192-core NVIDIA Kepler GPU. It would have 4GB of RAM and run on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
The display size has not been revealed in the benchmarks, but the display resolution is mentioned as 1440x810. The original resolution could be 1440x900, since 90 pixels is occupied by Android on-screen nav-bar. According to the listing, it would have 16GB of internal storage and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
Other details such as battery and dimensions are not available yet. This could have a different design and come with new features compared to the first Shield console. ASUS Gamebox with a Tegra 4 chip and 2GB RAM surfaced earlier this year on AnTuTu and the controller appeared on Bluetooth SIG, but the company has not made it official.

Apple and Google are wooing game developers by to get popular mobile games in the their app store first, claims a latest report by The Wall Street Journal. The two tech giants are actively offering incentives and offers to mobile game developers for game availability on their platform.
Citing a source, the WSJ report stated that Apple used incentives to grab a two-month exclusivity for EA’s ‘Plants vs Zombies 2′ game and three-month exclusive for Zepto Lab’s ‘Cut the Rope last year. Apple in exchange for platform exclusivity, promoted the title in iOS App Store banners and featured games lists.
The tussle and desperation for exclusivity comes at a time when over almost 80% of smartphones worldwide run on Android giving a tough competition to Apple. Both the companies have denied the claims and stated that no money was exchanged as asserted by the WSJ report. It must be noted that most of the time, games are offered on both Apple's App Store and the Google Play Store almost at the same time. But according to the WSJ sources, Apple and Google want to be the first one to offer a new game.

Last week AnTuTu released top 10 popular smartphones for global, US and Chinese markets, based on benchmarking and device information from Antutu Lab. Today it has released top 10 popular smartphone chart for India and 13 other countries that includes, Russia, Germany, Japan, Korea and more.
According to the chart the Nexus 5 is the popular smartphone in India with 11.53% and the Motorola Moto G Dual SIM (XT1033) is the second more popular smartphone with 9% share. It is followed by Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3. The Micromax A116 also appears in the list in the 10th spot, just above the Sony Xperia Z1 (C6902).
These results would be based on data using the AnTuTu benchmark app installed on these Android smartphones. According to the global chart, the Xiaomi Mi 3 is the popular smartphone, mainly since data from China is over 5.6 million, almost half of the global data received.
Apple is still fighting the legal court battle with Samsung, but that has not stopped the company from teasing its nemesis. On the occasion of Earth Day the maker of iPhone and iPad has released a print advertisement in one of the UK newspapers about its environmental strategies.
The company has launched a green-themed marketing campaign, also expanding its recycling programme to cover any Apple product or device. The ad reads “There are some ideas we want every company to copy” . The ad further taking a jab at Samsung touts "There’s one area where we actually encourage others to imitate us. Apple is said to release the iPhone 6 in two variants, one with a 4.7-inch display and the other one with a 5.5-inch screen, according to earlier rumors. The iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch display, referred as iPhone Air has been delayed since Apple could not find a sufficient battery that measures 2 mm or less to fit in the device's slim body, according to a report from a Taiwan's Industrial and Commercial Times .

Motorola Mobility has appointed Amit Boni from within the company as the General Manager of India operations. He joined Motorola Mobility in early 2010 taking charge of GTM strategy and sales operations for the Asia region. As a general manager, he will lead the team across the country and be responsible for the Go-to-Market strategy, said the company.
Motorola came back to India after almost one and half years with the successful Moto G and launched the Moto X soon after. It would be interesting to see what it has to offer to the Indian market in coming months. Pantech Vega Iron 2 from the Korean manufacturer appeared online last month and was expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Today VEGA IM-A888S, an unknown smartphone from Pantech has appeared on AnTuTu that reveals the specifications of the devices.
The benchmark shows that the device would be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU, similar to the upcoming Vega Iron 2 (IM-A910), but this would have a Quad HD display at a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. This could be the successor of the Vega LTE-A IM-A880S phablet that was unveiled last year.
The benchmarks also reveals that it would run on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), packs 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Other details such as screen size, rear camera and the battery capacity are not available yet.
The Pantech Vega Iron 2 is expected to be unveiled on April 24, but the launch has been postponed to May. It is not clear when the Pantech IM-A888S would launch.
The HTC One M8's dual camera setup was all about calculating the depth map and rendering a realistic bokeh to relatively bland photos. Vic Gundotra, the man behind Google's social network ie Google+ is all set to leave the company. Having been at Google for eight years, Gundotra has decided to move to a newer as of yet undisclosed venture. Vic had previously been at Microsoft for 15 years.
Announced via a Google+ post, Vic's departure is effective immediately and David Besbris, VP Engineering in Google+ is believed to be taking over his position.

IFTTT or "if this then that" has launched their Android app finally. The iPhone app was launched back in July last year and the iPad app arrived earlier this month. The app is also available for Android tablets. You need to find a Channel that has Recipes. You can browse through a Channel to select a Recipe or create your own Recipe. Once the Recipe is activated, it triggers an action.
The iOS app got iOS Notifications Channels recently that lets you send important notifications directly to your iOS devices. Android also has a separate Notifications Channel that sends notifications to Android devices.
Other channels for Android includes, Android Device, that lets trigger an action once you are connected or disconnected to WiFi or a specific WiFi network, Android Location that triggers an action when you enter or exit area, Android phone call, Android photos and Android SMS.

Facebook has scooped up fitness tracking app Moves for an undisclosed sum. The app which is available on Android and iPhone will continue to run separately even after the acquisition. Developed by ProtoGeo Oy, the 2-year-old Helsinki company's Moves app runs in the background on users' phones and uses location data to build up a profile of their activities throughout the day.

NTT DOCOMO, popular mobile solutions provider has just announced that it plans to sell the company's entire 26.5% stake in Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL). It entered India by investing in TTSL in March 2009. It invested 252.3 billion yen or about Rs. 13,000 crore in Tata Teleservices in March 2009 and 14.4 billion yen or Rs. 800 crore in May 2011.
Tata Teleservices merged CDMA & GSM divisions in 2011. Last year it surrendered 20MHz of CDMA spectrum to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) due to DoT imposing a one-time spectrum fee for holding spectrum above 2.5MHz in the 800 MHz bands. The company did not buy 1800MHz band or the 900MHz spectrum in the recent auction.
When it entered India it had an agreement that if TTSL fails to achieve certain specified performance targets, it would sell its stake. Earlier reports said Tata Teleservices plans to exit the Telecom business and NTT Docomo could give them one-year extension to find a buyer.

Motorola XT912A, an unknown device has surfaced of GFXBench. The Motorola Droid Razr had a codename XT912, so the XT912A could belong to the Droid family. WeChat has rolled out a new feature to its mobile platform that allows users to inform their friends and family about their location. The Real time location sharing feature on WeChat will let users send their current location to others with a single tap.
The feature is introduced as a part of the 5.2.1 upgrade the feature is especially useful for women as it gives a view of real time location, thereby ensuring their safety while on the move. Available on Android and iPhone, it will be helpful for parents to keep a tab on their children's location and ensure their safety. The recent update also brought Friends Radar, Cloud Storage with 1GB of free storage and more new features.
