Samsung SM-G906S, an unknown devices with a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display has appeared on GFXBench. Samsung SM-G900S with a similar Quad HD display appeared on GFXBench back in December 2013, but Samsung did not release the phone. The SM-G900S had a Snapdragon 800 processor, but the SM-G906S would have a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU. It runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
Other specifications include 16-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the Galaxy S5. Unlike the Galaxy S5, this has 3GB RAM. It also has 32GB of internal storage and all the connectivity options similar to the Galaxy S5.

TAG Heuer, one of the popular luxury brands has announced TAG Heuer MERIDIIST INFINITE, the company latest luxury smartphone in the MERIDIIST series. It is the world's first mobile phone with perpetual power reserve, says the company. The display has a sapphire crystal panel on top and a solar (photovoltaic) cells below the panel that lets you charge the phone easily.

This uses Wysips Crystal, a transparent photovoltaic component invisible to the naked eye to charge phone automatically. It can charge the phone under direct sunlight and also artificial light when the screen is exposed. It is made of premium materials such as grade 5 Titanium and carbon.
Coming to the specifications, it has a 2.4-inch (320 x 240 pixels) and a monochrome OLED panel on top that shows extra information such as battery charging level. It comes with dual SIM support, 5-megapixel rear camera and 8GB of internal storage, according to pocket-lint.
TAG Heuer will make only 1911 units of Meridiist Infinite. It would be available worldwide in July 2014. The company is yet to reveal the price of the smartphone. Since the TAG Heuer Merediist 2 that was launched last year costs 3300 GBP, the Meridiist Infinite is likely to cost more.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom rumors started earlier this month and an alleged image of the S5 zoom appeared earlier today. Sammobile has posted the complete specifications of the smartphone that reveals that the S5 Zoom would have a 20.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 4.4-44mm lens with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Xenon Flash.
It would have a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, powered by a Hexa-Core processor (1.7 GHz Dual Core Cortex A15+ 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7) and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the latest Samsung Touchwiz UX. As you can see from the image, the phone has a faux leather back.
It would also come with an IR blaster to use it as remote control using Samsung WatchON. It also has SIM support for data connectivity similar to the Galaxy S4 zoom and not likely to come with LTE support. Just the battery capacity is missing. Sammobile has also posted the device specifications mentioned on AnTuTu Benchmark.

Lenovo has announced that it has acquired a huge patent portfolio from NEC Corporation. You might have seen the NEC Medias W Android Phone with dual screens. NEC Corporation is mainly popular for providing information technology services and products in Japan. This patent portfolio has over 3,800 patent across several countries that includes patents for 3G and LTE technologies and other technologies used in several smartphones, said the company.
Lenovo is the world’s No. 1 PC maker and is currently fourth top smartphone manufacturer in the world based on shipments. Both these companies did not disclose the amount of the deal.
Regarding the new patent acquisition, Ira Blumberg, vice president of Intellectual Property, Lenovo, said,

Samsung has unveiled two new Wireless Charging covers for the Galaxy S5 in the U.S. This includes a Wireless Charging S-View Flip Cover and a Wireless Charging Cover for the Galaxy S5. Samsung would also sell the S-View Flip Cover and a Protective Cover for the handset separately. The Wireless Charging S-View Flip Cover has a leather like finish on the outside.
The wireless charging cover replaces the normal back cover and also looks exactly similar to the normal back cover from the outside. On the inside it has respective connectors for wireless charging. These are compatible with Qi-compatible wireless charging pads. Both these covers have rubber sealing on the on the inside to retain the Galaxy S 5’s water resistance.

Xolo Q1010i, successor of the Xolo Q1010 has been listed on the official Xolo website. The 'i' in the name indicates a better camera. The Q1010i has a 8-megapixel Sony Exmor R sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1.4 micron pixel size and a 5-element lens. Other features are similar including a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display based on One-glass-Solution (OGS) technology, 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo has promised to offer Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the smartphone.

Google introduced Google TV back in 2010 and it even launched new Google TVs with its partners, LG, Asus and more OEMs few years back. Google is working on Android TV, an entertainment device, different from the Google TV, according to a report from The Verge, who says they have acquired internal Google documents.
Instead of being a computing platform, Android TV will be an entertainment platform like Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku, says the report. It will have a new interface with scrolling cards for movies, shows, apps, and games. The remote control with four-way directional pad would let you scroll left and right and would have Enter, Home, and Back buttons. It would also have voice input and notifications.
It would come with an optional game controller, similar to Amazon Fire TV. It would offer suggestions for new content and enable you to resume content you started watching on a phone or tablet when you turn on your TV, the report adds. It would also have apps and games and Google is already working with developers to add these content to Android TV.

Oppo has started taking pre-order for the U.S. and the International Variants of the Find 7a. Oppo launched the Find 7a along with the Find 7 at an event last month. The Find 7a has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on ColorOS 1.2.0 based on Android 4.3.

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Reliance Communications have signed a new deal. Under the agreement, Reliance Jio would utilize RCOM’s nationwide intra-city fiber network for its 4G roll out. It also noted that the pricing would be at arm’s length, based on prevailing market rates.
In April 2013, Reliance Jio Infocomm tied up with Reliance Communications to get access to the latter’s inter-city optic fiber network. Reliance Jio also partnered with RCOM in a Rs. 12,000 crore deal for sharing of RCOM’s nationwide telecom towers infrastructure.
Reliance Jio received unified License for all its 22 service areas across India recently. It already announced its plans to provide FDD-LTE on 1800 MHz and TDD-LTE on 2300 MHz through an integrated ecosystem. According to a recent report Reliance Jio would offer voice services on 4G along with high-speed data services.
RCOM’s intra-city optic fiber network extends to nearly 500,000 fiber pair kilometres, across the top more than 300 cities and towns in India. Reliance Jio is expected to launch its 4G services later this year.
Earlier this year, Apple introduced CarPlay as iOS for cars and now, Microsoft has demoed its concept for Windows in the car. At the BUILD conference which was held in San Francisco, Microsoft demoed the concept for its Windows in the car. Over years, Microsoft has been powering the entertainment systems in various cars from manufacturers like Ford, Kia, BMW, Fiat and Nissan. They have used their own UI so far and now, as a goal of unifying the Windows experience across platforms, Microsoft is bringing the "Metro" look to the car dashboard.
Microsoft took a leaf out of Apple's book and has come with up a solution that seems very similar to Apple's CarPlay. Microsoft's concept is currently in the test phase and it involves projecting the smartphone screen to your car dashboard. For connectivity, Microsoft is currently using MirrorLink which is currently used in Nokia's Symbian phones and Sony Xperia Z smartphone.
The concept is still in the early stages and that was evident when the software crashed during demonstration. There are no details regarding when this software will ship.

Samsung has introduced new memory card line-up that includes, standard, EVO and PRO series. The Standard series is a entry-level and affordable card for daily use. It comes in Blue color and belongs to Class 6 that would offer speeds up to 24 MB/s. It comes in 4GB to 32GB capacities. This comes in both micro SD and standard SD variants.
Samsung introduced their Series 800 SSDs in the EVO series first. Now it has come up with memory cards in the EVO series. This belongs to UHS-1 Class 10 category and offers transfer speeds of up to 48 MB/s. It comes in Orange color and would be available in 8GB to 64GB capacities for the micro SD variant and 16GB or 32GB capacities for the SD variant.
The silver colored PRO cards is aimed at professionals and would be suitable for full HD video recording in smartphones. It belongs to Ultra High Speed UHS-1 category that offers transfer speeds of up to 90 MB/s for the 64GB variant, 80 MB/s for 32GB and 50 MB/s for 16GB. Other than the network difference, all the other features are similar to the global variant of the Galaxy S5, including a 5.1-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS.

Motorola Moto X was a phone that brought Motorola back into the smartphone game in the US and they recently launched the device along with Flipkart in India. Prior to the Moto X launch and after the Moto G launch, Motorola's ownership has changed twice - first they were owned by Google and now, they are owned by the Chinese manufacturer Lenovo.
Motorola is rumored to be working on the successor of Moto X and according to the popular Twitter account @evleaks, the device will be called Moto X+1 which sounds different. According to @evleaks, the device will also come with a leather back. This is something new and Motorola were the first company to try different materials for the back of the device. Moto X came with a wooden back and now Moto X+1 is being rumored to come with a leather back. @evleaks has been accurate with all of his leaks and we have no reason to doubt this claim.

iBall has launched Slide 3G 7271-HD70, successor of the iBall Slide 3G 7271 HD7 that went on sale earlier this year. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the HD7 tablet. It comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support, voice calling and wireless FM Radio.

Qualcomm had announced the Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 600 SoC during CES 2013 and more than fifteen months have passed since a major announcement from the smartphone chip giant. Qualcomm is the current industry leader in the smartphone chip business with almost all the flagships using Snapdragon SoCs. Back in November, the company had announced the Snapdragon 805 SoC which was supposed to be the successor for the Snapdragon 800, but Snapdragon 805 devices are expected only in the second half of 2014. It has released new political sticker pack aimed at youth for the general election 2014.
