Back in December 2013, Fleksy Keyboard, one of the popular third party keyboards in the Android market announced an SDK for iOS apps which allows the apps to use Fleksy Keyboard inside the application. Apple imposes strict rules on third party content inside its core features and that is on of the reasons Fleksy has to be used by the developer in his application(and not by the user like in Android). Recently, we saw SwiftKey Note, an adaptation of a keyboard application from Android to a Note taking application in iOS. Fleksy keyboard SDK allows iOS app developers to use Fleksy keyboard inside their application instead of the usual iOS keyboard. The SDK is free and developers can start using the Fleksy keyboard within their apps starting now. For this to work, the user has to download the Fleksy Keyboard stand alone application that basically serves as the repository for your words, meanings and predictions. When an application has support for Fleksy keyboard, it shows up near the copy paste icons. The founder of the application, Ioannis Verdelis, is confident that his application will receive good response from developers as there is almost "zero lines of code" to include the keyboard and it ...

Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus Review

As the market gets flooded with large display devices at ever more appealing price points, buyers are spoilt for choice. While the likes of Micromax and Spice are the elephants in the room, Karbonn isn't far behind either. The brand new Karbonn Titanium S5 Pro brings a large display, above average performance to a very appealing price point. Read on to find out our opinion of the phone. Hardware First impressions make a difference and the Karbonn Titanium S5 Pro certainly makes a good one. Clean lines are visible with the white front surrounded by a faux chrome bezel. Above the display is an earpiece grille flanked by the front facing camera and the proximity sensor. The dimensions of the phone are quite svelte at just 138 x 70.5 x 7.9 mm. The slim bezels around the display further make the device feel quite small.   Karbonn has eschewed the capacitive buttons for onscreen controls and the end result is a very clean design. The buttons hide away during media playback and so don't really encroach upon screen estate. We were very pleasantly surprised by the 5inch qHD panel used here and we'll talk more about this later in the review. [gallery ids="96426,96430,96429"] Moving over to the sides, ...

When Google bought Motorola, they got most of their teams and when they let go, they made sure they kept the ATAP(Advanced Technology And Projects) group. Now, Google has announced their latest Project Tango which is a smartphone that can measure dimensions of the surroundings. Project Tango is an ambitious project from Google and is now currently a 5inch Android running smartphone that comes with specialized software and hardware to map the world around it. The prototype phone comes with sensors allow the phone to make over a quarter million 3D measurements every second, updating its position and orientation in real-time, combining that data into a single 3D model of the space around you.The device runs on Android and supports development APIs to provide position, orientation, and depth data to standard Android applications written in Java, C/C++, as well as the Unity Game Engine. According to Google, these early prototypes, algorithms, and APIs are still in active development. Google is currently inviting developers to try out their new Project Tango device and they have only 200 dev kits. They want developers to build applications that make use of indoor navigation/mapping, single/multiplayer games that use physical space, and new algorithms for processing sensor data.

MediaTek, the maker of chipsets that usually find their home in low - mid range devices, is making a push for LTE connectivity. We reported on the MediaTek MT6595 chip earlier this month that aims to combine a Cortex A17 based quad core chip with a 4G LTE modem. Now the company is all set to launch offerings in the entry level to midrange segments. The MT6732 chip will do just that. The MediaTek MT6732 is a 64 bit quad core chipset with a built in 4G LTE modem. The Economic Daily News reports that this chipset will be introduced at MWC. The MT6732 is poised to give competition to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 chipset. The Snapdragon 410 is Qualcomm's first 64bit chipset that is based on the Cortex A53 architecture. Aimed at mainstream smartphones, it also includes LTE connectivity. While the MT6732 will be introduced in Q3 2014, the company is also said to be planning an octa core 64 bit LTE enabled chip for Q4 2014. The proliferation of low cost LTE handsets is great news as it will help in connecting the next billion to high speed internet and the benefits that come with it. [Via - DigiTimes]
